Spawn - a NaNo '07-Spawned Novel
As NaNoWriMo is fast approaching, I would like to invite everybody to have a look at my initial planning for my thirs novel, Spawn:
The Jason Effect » Blog Archive » NaNo Fast Approaching In that blog post, you'll be able to read my first thoughts on what I'll write. This year's gonna be a good one. I can feel it. I'm aiming for 100,000 or more words. I hit 80,545 last year, so I think another 20k shouldn't be too hard! I want to also wish good luck to all other ZUers that are participating, as this is my most favorite event of the year. So, throughout November - every day, in fact - I will be posting the next pieces of my novel on the blog, not here. I will alter you guys here every day with a link to the next piece of my story. Feel free to comment, edit it, do whatever - since I'll be speed writing extremely fast this year, the quality writing might not be so impressive (not that NaNo's writing quality is EVER impressive). When ZuNoWriMo rolls around, I'll have something nice set up that you usually get only through NaNoWriMo. But for now, onto NaNoWriMo craziness! WOO!

Day 4 was very busy, so I didn't have time to write as much. I settled for the normal 1667 words and only brought my count up to 11,684. Tomorrow (or sometime this week) I'll be doing an extra 1667 words to make up.

I decided to give myself a break and do a double-dose of word count tomorrow. There's a five-day weekend for me coming up, so I figured I'd have enough time to make up the one day that I'm behind (which is 3333 words). So, right now, I'm "one day" behind, or one day's worth of words. Which means my word count is 20,065.

Some of tonight's stuff expanded the length of the last paragraph of last night's stuff. So, to read everything I wrote tonight, re-read the last paragraph of last night's writings. This post continues with the paragraph after that. It also brings my word count up to 33,339. One-third through my novel, w00t!

Yes, now I'm a day and a half behind. But I needed to rethink some parts and make a better plot device to make things more interesting. I came up with something that I'm quite pleased with. It's a gamble, because it has to permeate the ENTIRE novel, but it fits in well with the clues I've been leaving thus far, meaning I don't have to rewrite the story to make it the driving force. Word Count: 41,679

I assure you that my novel is high quality - I've been told that I should fix it up a slight bit only and get it published, or serialized in a magazine! I'm looking into doing that, actually. By the way, since when has a rough draft ever been "quality"?
