Travels in Lynvania (NaNoWriMo)

Prologue
Not much is known about the old days. The days before everything happened. The day before they took over. All that we know for certain is that it was glorious.

Lynvania is a land of many things. Many people wander the land in search for everything imaginable, from food and water, to tools and toys. Many even travel just to get away from everything they know.

Everything, however, is under heavy scrutiny from all those within the Nation of those who can See. They call they land Psy City and no one is certain where exactly they came from or why they did. All everyone knows is that they appeared and took over the land which tactics that many had never seen before. Their powers of the mind scared everyone they came in contact with and their yearning for power over everything didn’t help the matter out.

Legends say that before they took over, there was a glorious time of peace and tranquility over the land. Not many who are alive today can tell you of such a time, as it was many generations ago. However, many scrolls stored away in secret tell of this and people known as Knowers; those who could control every element that was held in the land of Lynvania. They lived in a small town known as Lyn Village, where they studied in a great temple that still stands there today. They could manipulate the elements of water, fire, air, and earth. However, when those with the power of mind came in, these Knowers disappeared, never heard from again.

However, one such scroll speaks of a prophecy left before what is known as the Great Knowing Purge. It speaks of a child born on the 6th day of the 9th month five-hundred years after all peace is destroyed. It speaks of a little girl born with all the knowledge of the Knowers, as well as the secret to defeating those who killed the peace.

It was no surprise, then, to find everyone talking in Lyn Village on the five-hundredth year of the purge on the very day that was spoken in the prophecy. In the village, the couple of Cyrus and Maia Nile lay in their hut waiting to welcome in their first child. The child that everyone believes will bring back the peace to the land of Lynvania.

The Niles named their little girl Laia and from that day forward raised their little child under much protection, knowing that their little girl could possibly grow up to be the one save the world.

This story begins twelve years after the birth of Laia. Twelve years of hiding the truth from their little child came to and end when Laia finally found out her true destiny in this world.

Chapter 1 - The Discovery
Laia Nile was a twelve-year-old girl who lived in the small village of Lyn Village. She was tall for her age, as well as very beautiful. She had strong green eyes and very lock black hair, which she inherited from her mother.

Lyn Village was a small village in the land Lynvania which was known to everyone as a very prominent farming town. Everyone there was skilled in manipulating the element of water and built their town around that skill. Laia began to use this skill at the age of nine to help her parents in their farm. Her parents praised Laia for being able to master the skill of their village in no time, as the harvest that year was running behind.

Laia was moving water from the nearby waterfall over their farm one day, when something that happened every day happened again. One of their neighbors came over to make sure that Laia was alright and began to help Laia out as well. Laia never understood why everyone was always kind to her. Everyone would tend to keep to themselves in the small village, so it was odd for everyone in the village to be kind to just one certain person.

After Laia thanked her neighbors for their help, she went inside her hut to grab something to eat. Her parents were out running errands in the nearby village, so Laia sat down to eat her snack. Lyn Village was such a very small village, that only the nearby villages carried the food that Lyn Village would harvest each year, as well as their own special crops.
