Well, I guess when you're professionally rating it as a non-starwars fan...I could see where you're coming from. It mostly turned into that huge action movie that kept people on the edge of their seats...and there was nothing wrong with that, you wanted a giant ending to starwars 3 back then and that's what happened.
Now, besides that, all the things that are needed to complete the story felt driven in between action and battles as quickly as possible to get it out of the way. (Yoda's death, Han's return and the yacht was decimated by Luke like in three minutes. Though I admit, it was cool).
Still, I prefer 6 because it was fun. It was back when I was a kid, and Starwars...well, it really hit kids the most. I think even Lucas said that somewhere, I swear, I just can't remember. Though don't assume, I don't like where Clone Wars is headed at all.
Empire would be the
profession critic's choice. No argument there. Probably the last time Starwars was taken seriously as "great movie" at a movie critic level.

People are both good and bad. No-one's JUST one or the other. Vader was ALWAYS in Anakin... there's a deleted scene from The Phantom Menace where Qui-Gon has to stop him beating the snot out of Greedo for insulting him. Palpatine didn't introduce anything to Anakin that wasn't already there. Disassociating Vader from Anakin was a critical failure of Obi-Wan's; even in RotJ, he STILL hasn't learned his lesson and refuses to believe that there's any good in him at all, that Luke MUST kill him. Luke shows him how wrong he is. In the end, both Anakin and ObiWan stand side by side, having learned something important from the young Skywalker: that you don't abandon people who lose their way, and that forgiveness is the only way to break a cycle of hatred.

Oh man! This!
Bravo man! That is an excellent way of putting things, and I couldn't agree more. ESPECIALLY with that last sentence, which applies to real life as well. That's why the movies will always be the biggest thing in starwars. The true light side of the force isn't fighting evil in the way of killing the host of it, but just getting rid of it. Luke fixes that problem within the Jedi Order which has plagued it for who knows how long.
