Animated GIFS

So heres the thing. I love animated gifs, but I just don't know how to make them or make reasonable looking ones. Does anyone have a program or something that works for them? If so please tell me. Thanks.

You can download the old, old Microsoft GIF animator for free here.

But most image editing programs (Adobe, Flash, Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact) come with a GIF animator. Those are most commonly used.

The GIF animator is a seperate program from Paint Shop Pro. Go to Start > Corel (or Jasc, depending on the version you have. I have 8, so its Jasc.), and you should see something called "Animation Shop." That will help you make animated things, including GIFS.

Don't get the Microsoft GIF animator. It's made of phail.

Seems you've got paint shop pro though, so your best off with trying to use that.

Edit: yeah, do what Mr. Fish said. >_>

Well, I just found out that some versions of PSP don't have Animation Shop, and you have to install Animation Shop when you install Paint Shop Pro, so you may have to reinstall...

Hope this helps, anywayz.

Imageready has a GIF animator? Where is it? (I'm not so good at navigating Adobe programs, and I can't be bothered getting something else)

If you go to window and click animation, the animator will pop up at the bottom.

on a side note... can gifs only be 256 colors? and if so... are there programs that mix the colors better than macromedia flash? I've seen some pretty clean gifs at times, and my current sig isn't that clean...
