[PS] *** Brush-Making
The following image is large, so only look if you can handle it! I'm splitting it into two smaller images, though, so no worries! =3
http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/318/brushtutfm1.jpg Now, the instructions if you don't want to wait: 1. First, create a new layer. Name it whatever you'd like, and make sure the resolution is 100 pixels/inch or PS will resize it. Make the background transparent, and size 3"x3". 2. On the new layer make a rough outline of what you'd like your brush to be with a 5 px brush. If you only want the outline, skip to 7. If you want a cool gradient, continue to step 3. 3. Create a new layer and move it under the outline. Fill it all white. 4. Get rid of the white in the outline. 5. Press D to reset your colors (if you haven't already) and use a linear gradient on a new layer between the white and the outline. Set the gradient layer to screen. 6. On the second layer, get rid of the gradient you don't want, for instance, I did outside the outline. When you're done, delete the white layer. 7. Crop the image to the edges of your brush. 8. Go to Layer-->Merge Down 9. Then Edit-->Define Brush. Choose a name and voila! You now can use your brush. Choose the brush tool and go to the bottom. There it is! =D 10. This isn't on the actual image, but you can also get rid of your outline layer in step 6, and skip step 8. Voila. Enjoy. ---- EDIT: Did I need the white layer? I was bored and messing around and I think you don't need it. >.> If you want, you can find out and tell the world.
