Vector Images [PS] ****

I rated this one four stars. It probably should only have been two or three, but it can be extremely time consuming and tedious.
Vector Images are made of shapes filled with solid colors. Some examples I've made:

First, set up your work space. You want nothing opened but the tool box and the Layers Palette. You will probably want to stretch the layers palette as long as you can, as you will end up with a lot of layers. (You might consider making layer sets to more easily control visibility for comparisons)

Secondly, if you are making a vector of an existing image, open the image, and select the pen tool. Starting with the area of color that takes up the most space, draw an outline around all the shapes in the image with the pen tool, making sure to fill them with a similar color to the original. If you are making a vector image from scratch, simply draw the shapes and fill them with whatever colors you see fit.

After filling in the larger areas of color, start to make more shapes on top of those to make the smaller areas of color, such as shadows, eyes, what have you. If you notice you can't see the shapes you make, be sure to check where they are in your layers. You may need to drag them up above the existing layers.

Continue this process, making shapes for every different area of color in your image, untill it looks right. You can always make small changes with the white arrow tool above the pen tool. Mess around with vector imaging for a while and it will soon be second nature.

Please tell me how helpfull this was, Ive been told I have a habbit of explaining things in such a way that only seasoned photoshop users know what the heck I'm saying

Hope it helps!
