Beginner Sig Tutorial [GIMP] *

This is for any GIMP newbies out there... If you are really trying to make a signature, try this out:

It's nothing fancy, not the greatest tut ever, just a simple tut for a beginner...


EDIT: I just realized I forgot to mention that you need to merge all of the blurred layers together... THEN continue... Makes it a whole lot easier!

Congrats on being the only person to post a GIMP tutorial so far, or so I think..

It is good for people new to GIMP so I congratulate you on that. Although I'm not sure I need this tutorial, all those who don't know much about the program should start out with this.

You could do most photoshop tutorials in Gimp and vise versa. This being in gimp doesnt make it special, although it is a nice suggesiton.

It is a nice tutorial for a beginner in either program. Good job.

Hey, iv been working with GIMP for some days now trying different tecniques. and now i wanna make a sig, but have a question for it. (might sound like the ultimate noob but anyway)

how do i get the renders to only show the "Charecter" i wanna have in the sig?
alittle hard to explain but, i have some pics i wanna use in the sigs. but when ever i copy/paste em onto the gimp picture the backroud color changes to the color that is in the backround of the picture to beginn with...
(im not english so trying my best to explain )

like how do i cut off the parts on the picture i want to use in the sig before i copy/paste it onto the GIMP picture?

if im still not clear : let's say i chose a black backround for the sig... then i find the picture i wanna have on it and let's say that backround on that picture is white... when i copy/paste it onto the black backround the hole square comes onto the black backround... so how do i cut of the backround of the picture i want to use? ( bad explanation idd )
