Ciroton (10:43:54 PM): Like, for her Final Shinigami exam, she rode her hollow like a bull before killing it. xD

Considering I don't know what a Hollow is nor am I even curious as to the following of the series to find out, and because this reference might confuse people like me who don't know anything about Shingamiwhosits, I'll give it a 6. Maybe a 7. Because of the name.

It's hard to avoid it when it's based on an anime where all the (good) main characters have Japanese names. The evil ones have Spanish words as names, IIRC. (with three exceptions)

Uh, yeah, she's not going to be made into a character. At most, she'd be incidental in a RP or a story, but not anything glamerous. Also, she only answers to her nickname because even she doesn't like her real name.

That's kinda my issue. Anime is okay. Hell, even DBZ is perfectly acceptable if you just wanna kick back and watch some stupid, mindless action. With hand-lasers. But the anime inspiration gets to a point where it restricts the players. Go look at Scott's characters, especially Tarhedron. Plenty of cheesy sci-fi influence there (not that the character is cheesy, because he's not; in fact, he's completely badass), but it's unique from anything else you'll find in the BA.

I'm not suggesting you guys abandon anime-style characters and RPs. Just...flesh out a little. Get some other sources. Everything, no matter how cool, will grow stale. Oh, and PLEASE do not emulate anime-style dialogue. Because that is punishable by death.

Thanks for that. Tahredron needs to make a new appearance. But what to do...hmm.

The vast majority of that character's stuff is taken straight out of Warhammer 40k, albeit with liberties taken where I felt like it (such as his tendency to not have guns but use directed psyker energy attacks).

[edit]Plus, he was used extensively with Dome-related activities, which gave him a whole new angle that doesn't relate to 40k at all.[/edit]

I guess that's the point, though. You're right, WotS. Take ideas and influences where you think the ideas are cool, but you should never take it completely from that source. 'Cause it does get stale.
