Writer's Block! Argh!

YOU KNOW IT.

YOU HATE IT.

I know there have been topics like this before, but we should sticky one or something.

Discuss the evils of writer's block, how to counteract it, how it comes about, etc.

Everything that's taken me out of a funk in the past hasn't worked for this current one, it's even hurting my site :<

I once heard that the best remedy for writer's block was to start writing, and force your mind to think.
Just go write a quick short story or something until it's over. The resulting story may not be good, but it was helpful.

I think the cause to the writers block is also that you have no idea what the other person want you to post. So it should be normal to at least give an inclination to what you want your character to do in the next post, or the reason a character did what he/she did, in your post.

And yeah, that's definitely a part of it, Flue, but it's not even just BA writing. It's everything writing, and everything creative in general. Music, writing, graphic art, they're all suffering. I can't make heads or tails of my own mind.

Oh, and I usually always have writer's block. I can't seem to be creative until I start writing, and that's hard when you have writer's block...
I manage though, so yay!

here's how I deal with writers' block: I ignore it until it goes away.

Psh. Writer's block is easy to deal with. When you have a basic plotline and your characters and world are laid out, you just follow what your characters do. When you get stuck, you just go back to the outline and new ideas pop up like how light bulbs light up when you clap. It's so easy that way...it's kinda like your own characters start writing for you--and no, I am not crazy. I am simply on the verge of it.

Example:

"Hey, Leonna. How are you today?"

"I am just fine, but you are insane."

"Oh psh, like I've never been told that before."

"You really ought to stop. You are spamming up this perfectly fine thread."

"I'm trying to show them how to get their characters to write. You're supposed to help me here."

"I have not written anything. How could I? I am in your head."

"Oh...you're right. That would mean I'm trying to explain a metaphor. And that's just a literary device."

"..."

And there you have it. It's that easy. No writer's block. Not even for a second.
