The Battle Arena Newbies' Thread

Hey guys! This is a thread for all those new to the Escapists' Haven. It serves several purposes.

• To welcome new members to the Escapists' Haven.
• To provide a low-stress environment so newbs who don't feel too comfortable about hopping in the conversations in the OoC can have a place to introduce themselves.
• To provide a place where questions may be answered.
• To bring the Escapists' Haven Community closer together.

So what do you do? Well, newbs, you're very encouraged to post in here stating that you've arrived. Current members, you're just as encouraged to welcome your new fellow RPers, and help them make some new friends. Newbs, we hope you will use this as a place to organize some of your first RPs and Battles! If you have any questions, ask'em here and they'll surely be answered soon.

Notice: This is a welcoming thread, not a chatting thread, so while it is fine for newbs to be welcomed and say hi to meet new friends, extended conversations should be moved to either the OoC or the more-preferable PM.

I find it funny that no one has posted in this thread.

Hhm... Well I'm Haruka and new to this site all together, if I'm being terribly stupid for posting on this forum, let me know. But otherwise it's nice to meet you. I've been roleplaying for a while, but there has been a big gap so in my terms I just started all over again. But I'm not terrible or anything.

Just thought I would ask, are many people on GMT time, or is everyone on +/- 5/6 hours?

Lot of people live in the US, but some of us live in Canada or the UK.

I live in the Eastern Time Zone *points to location*, but I'm on sporadically.

I'm GMT time +1. But such things are better taken in the OoC thread, our "uofficially" spam party thread.

My profile was just approved by insaney. Funny, because I thought my profile needed improvement. Oh well...

Hmm, now I dunno what to do with my character. I don't know whether I should go to the Crossroads or the Training Dome, except my character hates fighting... hmm...

Try training at the dome first; if onnly to become comfortable with your writing style, and hopefully get yourself known

Admittedly, I had expected your character would need a bit of improvement too, although I wouldn't be able to figure out exactly where. :/

As you may or may not have figured out, the Battle Arena is the only place where your character will be practically guaranteed to fight; your character should have little reason to fight in the Crossroads and Battle School/Dome if you don't want them to. :3

I made a non-combat character too, but I think I will use him for fighting too.
It's much focus on battles here in the BA, but a non-combat character will do just fine. It's just more battle threads than crossroads threads.

Congratulations on getting your character approved without needing to be asked to add more or elaborate on it. Judging by the quality with which you wrote the character's bio, I'd say you'll do fine here.
