Do you know that Undine and Sylph also get their names from mythology? A lot of things in Tales games do, really. :3 It's one of those neat little details I luff about the series.

I started playing again too. XP I realized I had a file I'd abandoned around Palmacosta (so early on!) a long while ago. If I finish it, it'd be... like my eleventh playthrough of the game, I think.

Well my intro just involved me, Tera, Lumia, and Rachael. I could've easily gone on for an extra 500 or so words and still not interfered with other people or their characters. :/

Yeah, but as I think Scott was saying... the reason it's easier to do posts not involving other characters (such as opening posts) is because you don't have to worry about posting with other people's characters. There's no problem having long openers, while the rest is short. That's how I usually write.

I agree. (Although I do feel weird when I notice that my OotBA intro was longer than my first Character Fiction. >_>;; )

I think activity would be overall more consistent if people did powerplay a lot less.

I concur. Sometimes when I'm RPing with a power player, I feel like they're just totally graping me. xP When you're not power playing, it makes it a much more entertaining experience for both writers. That way, as in real life, you're not entirely sure what the other character is going to do.

Say I'm fighting someone, and he posts:

"Rain Crow stood his ground as Styx, his arch nemesis, suddenly charged in his direction. Taloned claw extended to strike, Rain prepared for impact. Styx foolishly continued his dash, right into Rain's defensive attack. Rain's nail pierced the behomoth's chest, heaving him to the side, and throwing him against the far wall."

Then I have to respond to that, giving a valid reason why Styx would just run into a blatantly obvious attack like that. Usually it's something lame like:

"Styx knew his attack would fail, he was just testing his foe. He wanted to know his opponent's strength, and now he knew."

Blargh, it sickens me to have to use such cliches. Not only am I partially offended that my opponent took advantage of my character like that, but he did it without my consent. This results in a small amount of resentment that discourages me from working on my next post, and his actions also possibly ruined what I had planned for my next post.

Yup. And therein likes the whole trouble with continued activity on the BA.

That, and general laziness. (And LEA disappearing. )

Did LEA leave, or did she just randomly disappear? I haven't seen her on in a while, and I've also never RPed with her before (I don't think). :/

I think she WAS leaving, as soon as she finsihed one last rp thread (the one between her, Shade, and insaney)

And she completely ditched the one consisting of me & LEA.

Indeed. I love when games add subtle little refferences like that into the world. It makes it feel much more vibrant and alive, no?

Funny. Mine was abandoned just after Fuji Mountain (after arriving in Tethe'alla, or however yo spell it)

Allow Puck to explain.

Puck goes to school, when he is not at school he is doing homework, when he is not doing homework he is sleeping(An invalid attempt to get ready for school the next day) when he is not sleeping he is working, and when he is not working he is trying to spend as much time with his niece as possible before she grows up. As one can easily see Puck has lots to do, seriously...his school is killing him...slowly...

also he's sick

Bleh.

(Edit: It should also be noted that Puck has been spending a good chunk of his free time reading)
