You know, when I'm by myself I get to thinking about things. When I was riding in my truck alone yesterday I was thinking about my character Dybia and realized I unconsciously based him off my dad. The whole thing in Dybia's backstory about his parents dieing and having to raise his little brother, and he even looks like him. Just a bit less tan though. So I guess what I'm trying to get at here is....

I don't think so... But I had a really strange dream of being able to become an animal tonight. Just like Simon... It was so real, I remembered everything when I woke up. It was a evil person that were trying to do something to those that had unnatural powers, and I tried to take her out.

I think, when I first made her, a few elements of Cadenza had come from various people on my mom's side of the family. The poverty, the large family, the closeness to her dad that was taken away from her at a younger age than most, the issues with her mother. The alcoholism is one of those remaining things. I never consciously sat down and decided to base her off anyone, but I was sort of aware of it afterwards.

Tracey's grandfather's loosely based off my grandpa on my dad's side, with his high expectations and low affection/etc.

Juxtaposition is one of the primary methods of comedy. Essentially, comparing something to something else, which is entirely different, for comedic effect.

For instance, in your situation: going to read the Bible after the [a]sexual innuendo. Or, something I've done, feeling hungry after watching Supersize Me!

EDIT: Here's an idea I had a few days ago.

Concerning character profiles, perhaps we could add another section onto the suggested character profile layout?

Namely--Speech Patterns.

How does a character talk? Do they have a high voice? What kind of vocabulary do they use? Do they have any accents? ETC...

I don't think this could be required, but I'd imagine it'd help the writers among us who like to go all out on description. *coughlikemecough* Not to mention that since we all have to do a bit of god-modding, technically, to make this thing flow at a decent pace, I think these pieces of information would help myself and others to write other's characters more effectively.

I've already edited in a Speech section for Donik.
