Character Creation Question (What a mouthful...): When creating a character, do you find yourself going out of your way to avoid unoriginalitys and clichés, and finding the character becauses slightly implausible at times? Or do you, on the other hand, simply roll with the predictable flow, adapting things slightly and making people think, "That's like... but instead it's..."? Or do you take your time to find the comfortable middle ground?

My first thought when making a character is "How can I make something totally unexpected?" I know my last three characters are my most original, though I know my second is my most popular. My upcoming characters were designed specifically to be different. Personally, I don't believe that intentionally going for something different can take away from quality. In fact, I think going for something different presents a fun challenge that makes the process more enjoyable. My work is always better when I'm having fun with a piece.

I believe it was, in practicality, making another BA, albeit with the same councilors and many of the same members. Characters could be used in either "universe", but would have different continuities. At least that's what it seemed like to me.

Nobody was really in support of the idea.

(Although I made a claim that my characters - and likely only mine, due to the lack of the Dome in the other "universe" - would be able to keep continuity even in the new "universe", as my characters can go anywhere they want, including between universes... as long as they know what's there. )

You could always just gather some friends and make characters directly linked to each other- even including each others' characters in your character's profile. I was going to link my character to a friend of mine's, actually; the idea feel through, though (**** you pete :<).

I'm trying to keep Try's battles in a chronologic timeline, so an alternative Universe could perhaps be... useful?

Actually, many of the characters in the BA at the moment have a timeline, including mine. The trick is to figure it out first and then do the RPs; that lets you do more than one RP at a time while still keeping a chronology.

And my character(s) already ha(s/ve) something similar to the OoT Paradox - R'keltera was split into 6 parts (well... 5 so far) and much of what the parts do happens at the same time as another one of them.

It's especially hard to figure out which battles come before or after an important plot point. And how each battle or role-play correlates into the next.

Yea! That was intense!

I'm bored of the genre till GH4. A never-ending track list... *___* It's like the holy grail. I can just see some horrible monster uploading all the best DragonForce songs. It's a shame you can't input tracks, but that would be too much to ask. The legal complications are beyond even my comprehension.

So I lost not only my love interest, but also my ****buddy. Still good friends with the latter, but the former seems to grow more irritated with me over time. It's my fault; I shouldn't have gotten involved until I knew her a little better. Oh, well. Lesson learned--AAAAUGH!!! >< MIZZY! STOP EATING MY FEET! NO, FRITOS ARE BAD FOR YOU! MIZZY, THAT HURTS! All my characters have timelines, and Viratious has an OOTish paradox thing. He was transported (at the end of a dropped battle ) to the future, and as a result his new and old powers began to merge.

Haven't exactly worked out another place to introduce the jump in time, though.

An intelligent, semi-cognizant person would understand that as a reason not to touch a cat's belly.

Which is why I did it so many times that my cat got used to it and stopped scratching and biting.

For the last fifteen minutes, I was playing Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit.

And guys...it's AWESOME @_@

Mizzy has no problem with things that drive most cats up the wall. You can scratch her tummy, stroke her paws, even pet her backward and she doesn't care. XP Though if you try while she's excited, be prepared.

Oh, I played that game. I was really impressed. I left a review of it somewhere in one of the dozens of OoC threads. But yeah, you haven't seen anything yet. Just wait till you see the battle with the cloaked dude on the rooftop. The game goes frickin' PoP meets DBZ for a few minutes. No kamehameha, though. That doesn't happen till the final battle... XD And don't worry, I said all that in just such a way that it wouldn't spoil anything.

You don't have to worry about spoiling anything. I have a habit of spoiling things myself when it comes to video games. x3 I should really get back to work, though...

XD I meet more and more people like that. I refuse to tell Sakume the titles of the games I suggest until she gets to Gamestop because she used to look up all the cut-scenes.

By the way, near the beginning where the black character (forgot his name; he's my favorite character, though) gets a call for work and has to leave his girlfriend while they're in bed... Did you try getting back in bed? XP A very interesting scene occurs if you do.

Psh, it's not like you're playing it. Although you should because it's an awesome and unique game. So I revealed that, at some point in the game, someone fires a beam from their hands. How is that a spoiler?

I can piece in details almost unconsciously when playing something. Any hint will spoil something for me at one point or another. XD

I'd much rather be surprised.
