Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
“Hey! Hey, you! Get back here!” Metal bullets whizzed past me as I frantically tore down the street, the gruff calls of my pursuers urging me to move faster. I did not understand what I had done to make them decide to attack me, but when did human antics make sense? I had merely been walking down a particularly small alley when a group of three men dressed in black leather jumped in and surrounded me. I had managed to break through by attacking them with my staff and running off, but that attack had landed me with a painful tear in my arm when one of their blades struck out upon my escape.
“We ain’t done with you yet!” More bullets, more running. It would only be a matter of time before their hissing weapons found their target. The streets I ran through were entirely dark and empty, and no help came from anywhere. If people could hear the ruckus going on, they were apparently smart enough to keep themselves out of trouble. “STUPID humans!” Padme, the haschen warrior running by my side was as irritable as ever, but not because her life was also at risk. The proud creature loudly pronounced that she never ran from fights, no matter the danger, and it was only for my protection that she followed me. Both of us were unfamiliar with this strange city we had stopped to look at, and neither of us were pleased to find that there were only vagabonds to greet us. “Keep going! Just a moment more and we’ll reach the corner! We can throw them off from there.” I panted the words as we came up to a corner of the street, another long line of buildings appearing before me. The sight didn’t offer any comfort, for it was just more ground without cover from our pursuers. “Throw off humans? They come now and see us!” Padme was indignant now, quite obviously not believing my claim that we could throw them off. I was beginning to doubt it as well. After we passed about three buildings, I made a frantic and very stupid attempt. I went for the door of a particularly large building, praying that it would be unlocked. Fortunately, luck was with me, and Padme and I scrambled inside. The door was heavier than I imagined, and made a loud slamming noise as it closed. It made my heart jump, and I leaned against it, listening for sounds of pursuit. While I couldn’t hear anything past the thick wood, Padme eventually informed me that she heard the pursuers run by. We were safe at last! Until I heard an ominous clank of metal just behind me.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"No, that will not do at'all... Erhm... My my, this isn't turning out like I had hoooped. Gallagher, throw these scraps over in that pile please, will you?" Two long metallic arms moved around to pick up a large chunk of twisted sheet metal, picking it up, then compressing it slightly, before heaving it off into a pile of other metal scraps. The crashing sound was loud, but Hewitt didn't even flinch in the slightest. He was too busy a man to concern himself with such things.
Hewitt was standing at a large table in the middle of his workshop. The table took up a good portion of the center of the building, but there was enough room at the north end of the table for a big desk, with many shelves and drawers. To the right side of the table were several piles of large metal scraps and sheets, but with no real organization other than sizes of the scraps. On the left side of the table was a pathway between two very tall shelving units that led to two large wooden doors that were reinforced with iron. On each side of this path were a series of six tall shelving units, three to a side. Some had little contraptions that were leaned against each-other, or lying down, hanging off edges, while other had boxes full of smaller scraps. Lying on the large table were a few inventions off to the corners, but in the center-left was a much larger thing. It appeared to be some sort of robot, but it was still in several pieces, and had no coverings yet. Littered on the desk were many papers with instructions and plans, while rolled up papers were packed onto the shelves there. "Gallagher," Hewitt turned to his trusty 'companion.' "Let's get this piece out of here as weeell, m'kay?" He grabbed onto a heavy looking metal pole, and Gallagher's sturdy little arms moved to help support the pole with its six-fingered hands. As Hewitt was about to throw the pole, he heard the door to his workshop slam shut. Without thinking he tossed the pole into the scrap pile and ran to his desk. He pulled off his goggles, then slipped on his coat, to cover up Gallagher, and pulled out his orange-tinted glasses, putting them on to cover his embarrassing pink eyes. He carefully walked over to the door, and saw two 'people' standing there, looking worried and worn. "Eh?" Completely ignoring the anthro, Hewitt ran up to the woman, and started to examine her. "Hmm... Veeery bright blue eyes, blonde hair, crystalline staff, wooonderful smooth skin, such clothing... aahh-haa! You, madam, must be an Astral Fairy, though your powers I'm not sure of. You could be heat, cold, light, or darkness, but I'd doubt the last one based on your eyes. You may be cold, I'd say because of your eye color and general build, but you could be fire. You have a crystalline staff, and those don't usually hold up well in cold conditions while working full-well in the heat. You have brightly colored hair and complexion, so you may have light powers... I honestly can't tell, haha!" He quickly turned to the anthro, examining her as well. "Hmm, yes, I haven't done much research into anthropomorphism, but I can tell you're Leporidemorphic... Otherwise I know nothing more about what you are... Thoouugh this could very well be a chance for me to learn a bit more on the matter, and maybe even apply it to my creeaations..." Hewitt stepped back and looked at them both. They seemed unsure of what to make of this man that just blabbered on and on. Suddenly Hewitt smiled and laughed. "Oh me, oh my! In the excitement I seem to have misplaced my manners! I'm Hewitt Avery, though you can call me 'Hewitt' or 'Hew', if you like." He bowed slightly, and waited for a reply.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"A-astral faerie?" My voice was weak with surprise, trembling even, in the presence of this bizzare man.
Where to begin? "I...I am afraid you are quite mistaken, Mr. Avery--" "LEPIMORPIK? Bad man, bad!" Padme leaped at the man, forcing him to jump backwards to avoid her swinging wooden staff. "You not call Padme names!" "Padme, wait!" I managed to grasp the fur on the rabbit's back, suspending her in air. She flailed about wildly for a moment, but did not attempt to bite me. "Let go! Padme teach Orangeyes a lesson!" A stream of insults followed, but they were too fast and garbled for me to make out. "I-I'm sorry, Mr. Avery, she is just a bit sensitive. We did not mean to intrude." To my surprise, however, the hunched man did not seem to desire an apology. In fact, he looked rather amused, though I could not see his eyes. It was his smile that gave it away. What a truly strange sight he was! Avery had white hair with a greasy gray tint to it, which was no surprise, seeing as he was surrounded by so many strange metal things. He almost reminded me of what a miner would wear, with a dark leather coat and dirty brown boots. What captured my attention, however, and what I could not stop staring at was his strange classes. His eyes were completely hidden by them, and I could see only my distorted reflection in the colored glasses. "If you do not mind, Sir, we will leave..."

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"OH, nononono! Please, don't feel as though you're any sort of a bother! You're boooth quite welcome to stay! Just uh, yes well... Don't toouuch anything, m'kaaay? Yes, now then, follow me, I have a chair which you..." Hewitt looked down at his side. "Gallagher!" The machine's two brass-like arms came out of the coat which had concealed them, and the hands 'looked' at Hewitt's face. "Can you reach the chair from here?" The hands faced the chair by the desk, then turned back to Hewitt, shaking. "Hmm, alright fine. I'll get you two the chair." Hewitt put his hand behind the woman and, without toucher her, implyed that she walk to the desk where the chair was located. He pulled it out, and spun it around to face the two.
After he'd sat the woman down, and the anthro, appernetly named Padme, had seemingly calmed down enough to just frown and ignore Hewitt. He sighed in a relaxed manner, then pulled off his coat. He felt he had no need to hide Gallagher from these two. He simply threw the coats across the floor, to the side of the desk, thus revealing pipes secured to his arm, little tubes on his hand, and a metal 'backback' with arms. "Nooow then... What may have brought you here, hmm? Not many people like the two of you suddenly burst into my place quite like you two did."

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
“Oh…m-my, I…” I was still at a loss for words, staring wide-eyed at the metal around his arms. Those strange pipes had moved from out of the man’s coat and…well…actually looked at him. How else could one describe such movement? It was like the thing had eyes on the end of the poles and it had responded to everything the man had said. As if it were alive!
Padme was not much help to me at this point. She merely sat sulking on my lap, her paws folded stubbornly across her small chest. Just barely, I could hear a soft growl as she glared at the man standing before us. I felt as if at any moment she would leap to attack, and I would have to stop her again. “Well, we…” Again, I could not even begin to speak a thought. My eyes caught on the golden watch hanging from one of the pockets of Avery’s waistcoat. It was such an ornate thing, the three hands on its face moving subtly and reminding me that time was passing. The man could only keep his patience for so long. “Actually, we…” It was just too much. There was too much to take in on just Avery himself that I gave up trying to use words at all. My lips quivered and all I could do was stare at my reflection in Avery’s glasses, English language completely forgotten. It was Padme that saved me. “You listen here, Orangeyes! We no want trouble. We be chased by bad men in black, and they hurt Leonna, see?” The large rabbit pointed at the cut in my arm, her expression so grave that one would have thought that I had been stabbed in the heart. “I-it is nothing, really, I…” I covered the wound with my hand, blushing with chagrin. “It be bad, and we need good place to hide. This place be strange, but we stay until Leonna better! You got problem with that?” Padme leapt into action, her staff pointed at Avery like it was some sort of Saber. I looked back up at Avery, biting my lip. His expression was impossible to read, but it was a relief to see that he did not appear to be angry. At least not yet.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
Hewitt was rather amused by the two, but kept a straight face as he lightly pulled the woman's hand away from the injury. "Yes yes, I see... You're right, it's not much to worry about, but either way we should take care of this." He turned to the shelves by the front of the workshop, before yelling into them. "MEDOC!" The group could hear some clanking sounds of metal dropping. A second after a small dome of brass came zooming across the floor to Hewitt's feet. It stopped when it bumped his leg, and rose itself up to his waist, then the dome opened, revealing three little arms, and several medical supplies. The arms gathered up an disinfectant, a small cloth, and a patch to cover the wound. "Thank you, Medoc." Hewitt took fisr the disinfectant and wiped it across the injury with the cloth. Immediately after, he placed the patch on it, which stuck right to the skin. "Haha, theeere we go!" The droid closed up after the disinfectant and cloth was placed back, then shrank back to the ground, and rolled off back to where it came from. They could all hear it slam into a pile of metal. That thing needs some more sense of what an obstacle is...
Hewitt made Gallagher's arms move behind him, securing to the ground, and allowing him to support himself against them. "Now then, if you waaant, you can look around, buuut don't touch things, remembeeer?" OoC: That was terribly written. Argh. xP

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
OoC: Noooo, it was veeeeery good.
BiC: I barely heard Avery speak, for I was staring into the pile of metal where the strange shiny dome had disappeared. It was by far and away the strangest thing I had ever seen. A creature made of brass that had innards of medical supplies? It was too bizarre to believe! Feeling that I had stepped into an entirely different universe, I gently brushed my fingers against the patch Avery had place on my arm. It was a smooth fabric with a painfully strong scent beneath it, which I guessed was some sort of healing salve. What was stranger, however, was how the man had not been surprised in the least by my silver blood. No human had such a thing. “You are too kind, Mr. Avery,” I said with the most polite smile I could muster, “but I fear we have inconvenienced you far too much already.” “No!” Padme cried up at me, her eyes glittering stubbornly. “Leonna must rest! You see sky outside? It be dark and BAD humans still out!” Then, with a much more gentle tone, Padme turned to Avery. “It good if we stay? Padme offer good peace offering.” The large rabbit quickly untied a small bag from her staff with her dexterous paws, shaking out of it a few large strawberries into her paw. With a smile, she held them out for Avery to take. Again, I was embarrassed by Padme’s antics. It was one thing for her to be attacking strangers, but it was another entirely to be protective over me. The last thing I needed was a haschen taking charge over me. “Really, we—“ “You take? Hmm?” Padme pretended as if she could not hear me, vexing me further. I could not even imagine trying to sleep in such a strange place.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
Thaaat was strange... Hewitt wasn't nearly sure what to make of this little 'peace offering,' but went along with it. He bowed courteously, though somewhat awkwardly, and took the strawberries Padme had offered him. "I acceeept your offering, and in retuuurn, ah-haha, I implore you to staaay until the sun comes up tomorrow. I caaan't rightly say, but I'd figure the streets only get wooorse at night, alrighty? Yes, now then... I, well, haha, I really don't knooow what to say! First time I've actually met a faaiiry, and... well." It was made obviouse that calling Padme by what she was certainly wasn't the proper thing to do, leaving him unsure of what to call her. "Yeees, I think I'll just go... siiit down." He promptly sat himself right down on the floor of his workshop, pulling a small contraption off his worktable as he did so. Looking at the two again, he motioned to his shelves. "Aaas I said before, you are mooore than welcome to look aroouund, so please do. I'll just be here, tinkering with thiiis."

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"Ah, right then..." I stood up rigidly, still feeling terribly awkward in this man's workshop. What did he expect me to look at? It was all just jumbled pieces of metal.
"Come, come, Leonna." Padme jumped out of my arms and onto the floor, urging me to follow her. She hopped nimbly past the shelves of strange metals while I followed her somewhat numbly, unsure of what it was that I was taking in. I had heard of "machines" before, which Hemanias described as powered tools that served a human in doing something. It could be something as simple as a grinding mill, and apparently, as complex as the strange contraptions that surrounded me now. Once there was a significant amount of metal blocking my view from Avery, Padme rapidly motioned with her paw for me to bend down so she could whisper to me. I complied somewhat stiffly and knelt on the hard ground, wondering what on earth could be too secret for Padme to simply speak. Haschen are not known for discrepancy. "Look, look, you see? Padme knew it! Orangeyes be inventor!" Padme urgently whispered in my ear, her voice barely audible. "An inventor?" "Yes, yes! Padme had those in village. They make good things that make things easy." "Make things easy? Padme, what are you talking about?" "They make pullies and traps no other Haschen know how to make! They be smart and craft thing no one has seen before!" "Like metal men?" I asked, glancing up at the strange mechanical figure standing a few feet away. Padme vigorously shook her head. "No, Orangeyes be very smart. He invent things out of metal instead." "I...see." I stood back up, only slightly more enlightened. So Avery was an inventor who made machines. That still did not explain all of the strange objects surrounding us now. What was Avery working on now, anyways? "You do not think he sleeps here, do you?" I asked quietly. My eyes swept over the hard floor and ceiling, none of which looked very inviting. "Me no know. He not say. He say you fairy, though." It had long been an argument between me and Padme that I could be a fairy. I had tried multiple times to explain to her that I had too many physical characteristics that were not consistent with one. Still, as soon as she saw that I had wings, she was convinced. "I am sure Mr. Avery is a very intelligent individual, but he is mistaken. I am not a fairy, and you should not take his word for it." I spoke this as an exasperated sigh, for I was beginning to realize just how tired I was. After all of the traveling and running, I was ready to fall on Avery's hard floor as it was. "Padme thinks you be one mistaken." Padme then turned her attention back to the piles of metal, and her eyes lit up when she saw a small copper ball. "What be that?" She reached out her staff to nudge it. "Padme, no! Do not touch—" But it was already too late. Padme's stick dinged on the metal ball, and the strangest thing happened. As if Padme had struck it with the greatest power she had, the ball went whizzing upward towards the ceiling. It made a peculiar buzzing noise as it moved, as if there was an angry hive of hornets within that thing. As soon as the ball hit the ceiling, it came down again with alarming speed, as if it was actually being propelled downward by its own will. I barely had time to flinch. "Padme, watch out!" "Hiiiiiyah!" The large rabbit's stick hit the metal ball as it came back towards her, making a very solid crack as her staff met it. This sent the ball hurtling towards the wall, which it bounced off of even harder than the ceiling. Both Padme and I ran out from behind the shelves of metal to see it bounce across the rest of the workshop, moving like a bullet. The strange ball knocked down the piles of metal it hit, releasing a stream of mechanical devices onto the floor. Shelves were knocked down in this horrible chaos, making horrible clanging as they hit the floor. "Mr...Mr. Avery! Watch out!" As if he did not know what was happening now. For some reason, I suspected he might withdraw his invitation if this chaos ever got over.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"Hey now, I thought I took out that things power-" Hewitt jumped to the ground do avoid the ball as it flew across the room to him. "Agh. This thing was nothing but tr-woah-ouble!" The orb seemed to bounce off everything it hit with a great deal of force, knocking whatever was loose down. He and Gallagher tried to catch it several times, but it went too fast for them both. "Aye, yi, yi... Gotta try something..." Despite not being the most accurate, Hewitt whipped out his handgun, and fired at the orb. His shot missed so he tried again, but after the second shot, the gun went dry. "Eh? Me oh my..." He pulled a small packet out of a pocket, then rip it open, revealing three bullets, of which he quickly loaded into the side of the gun. He fired and missed yet again, but finally his next shot struck the ball, sending it to the ground. He walked over to it, and shot it a second time, as it was still trying to hop around as best it could. "Gallagher?" The arms of Gallagher picked up the orb, and tossed it easily into what was left of the shelves.
Hewitt walked over to his guests and offered a hand to Leonna. "That was interesting. I actually have to thaaank you... I thought I had removed its pooower source, but it seems I had forgoootten. Now then, are the two of you alriiight?"

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
I was still shocked and breathing heavily, but I managed to nod my head. To my dismay, Padme was beside herself with joy.
“Ah, ah! Orangeyes good aim, no? Good warrior! You see Padme hit fast ball? No match for Padme!” The large rabbit twirled her staff around triumphantly, completely unaware of the disaster she had made out of Avery’s workshop. There were scraps of metal everywhere, and it was a miracle no one was hurt. “I…I am truly sorry, Mr. Avery. We had no intention of—” “Padme strike ball like it made of fluff! Orangeyes weapon go BANG, BANG! Good fight!” More staff swinging, more chattering. The creature had a mouth bigger than a lake! “Padme!” The rabbit’s eyes swiveled to me and she stopped her chatter. “What it be, Leonna?” “Do you not see what you have done? Look at the state of this place!” My shock was quickly recovering with my anger directed at Padme. At the very least, she ought to feel guilty for the chaos she had created. “Oh.” That was all Padme managed to say as she took in the large piles of metal and dust. The whole place smelled like grease and oil from all of the upset. “Eh…Padme sorry, Orangeyes.”

"Well, eh-heh... I'd be lyyying if I said this was anything neeew..." Hewitt walked right in from of the entire mess of shelves. "I admit it was ceerrtainly exciting. Oh... right, yes! There's no need to worry over the matter," Hewitt said reassuringly. "I- Oh... dear..." Hewitt's face felt rather bare, and his vision was much clearer now. He coughed lightly and turned away from the others, looking down, hoping to locate his glasses. Me oh my... Wheeere are they?
He found them lying on the ground, several feet away. He nearly leaped on top of them as he snatched them up, and quickly placed them over his eyes again. He awkwardly cleared his throat, and stiffened a little. "Now then. You," he said pointing to Padme. "You shall assist me and my droids in cleanup, understood?" His gaze turned to Leonna. "Yooou, however," he said calmly, "have no need to worry. Unleeess you claim responsibility for Padme's aaactions, you shall not be required to heeelp me, m'kay?"

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
“Ah, yes, of course I will help you.” I felt myself blush even as I spoke, embarrassed horribly by Padme’s actions. I was not even sure why I should feel so, but Avery’s strange panicky reaction to losing his glasses made it seem that much ruder of me to intrude on his work. Now, with his workshop in such a state, it would be a good few hours before he could get back to work, and then it would be time to rest.
Padme did not seem to share my humility. “Clean THIS up?” The yellow creature stared at the mess of metal around her with large black eyes. Her ears were twitching slightly, as if she was disturbed by such a request, and her smile faded into a sulky frown. “Padme warrior! She fight, not clean!”

"Hmm?" Hewitt raised an eyebrow at Padme. "If you reeaaly are a warrior... of any hooonor, then you would take responsabiiility for your own aaaactions." He waved his hand over the mess. "A good deal of thiiis is your fault, yes? Yes." He spun towards Leonna and smiled. "Thaaank you for offering your heeelp. Maaaybe you could help Padme to uuuderstand what 'responsability' meeaans? That alone would be heeelp enoouugh." His voice had become somewhat strained. He took in a deep breath, holding it for a moment. After exhaling he continued. "I'm gooiing to go get some driiinks, m'kay? I'll beee back in a whiiile." He turned a stern face to Padme. "Aaand I expect to see sooome progress when I get baaack!" He shuffled out the door, and closed it quietly.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
“Padme.” I gave the small creature a steely glare, the meaning of it very clear. She was going to help rectify the mess.
“Why we not just leave?” Padme groaned as she scowled at the piles of metal taller than she. “Because Mr. Avery was very kind in allowing us to stay, and we have returned this kindness by causing a disaster. As Mr. Avery said, there is no honor in such behavior.” Even as I spoke, I began picking up various pieces of metal that had fallen to the floor and arranged them onto the shelves. Padme sulkily watched me for a moment, then finally started to stack smaller objects onto the lower shelves that she could reach.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"Dear meee... I'm sure I'll be re-organizing eeeverything once they've leeeft. Still, it is true it's happened before." He sighed rather loudly, and went on his way through the dark streets. Almost every building had steam spewing out the top, rising high in the sky, and making for very humid living conditions. The steam rose, and while much did condensate and rain back down, most of it came down in much smaller forms, unnoticeable to most humans. They only feeling they had was the humidity. Many of this towns people wore dusters, like Hewitt, or trench coats when they went out at night. This effectively kept them nice and dry.
Hewitt walked up to a three-story, painted brick building, with a large sign above the door, reading: ~Firewind Inn~ He stepped up to the door, and waited for Gallagher to hide in his coat before opening the door. The inside was unlike the outside, in that the walls were wood, and covered by green ivy wallpaper, save for several spots were the wallpaper was worn, or torn. The bar on the left had two Tenders, the most common name people used for employees of almost any business, behind it keeping busy. He waited a minute until one was free, then walked up to the bar, pulling out a few light blue slips of paper. Placing them down on the counter, he ordered two 'Chifu Berry Blasts', and a 'Three-Nine on the Stone' to go. The Tender nodded, took the bills, and went off to make the drinks. Several minutes later he heard the Tender call out, "Order for two Red Explosions, and a Stoned Twelve!" She was using the inn's personal lingo for the orders, but Hewitt knew what she meant. He walked up, thanked her, and walked out after placing lids on the cups. The atmosphere of that place was nice, even though several ruffians went there often. He'd never seen them do anything, but they sure looked tough and intimidating. Hewitt was positive he could hold his own against one, with Gllagher's help, should the need arise. But thankfully, he'd been left well enough alone. "I'm BACK! Ah-haha! I've got some beeeberry drinks for the two of yoouu, with no alcohol, and something else for meee." He closed the door of his workshop, and ran to the table to set the dark green cups on it. He pulled off the lids of two cups, both containing a dark red drink, with half a lime slice in each. "Drink uuup!" Hewitt took his cup and removed the lid. His was a light green drink, with three small ice cubes floating in it. Quickly, looking like his very life depended on it, he drank the entire thing in one go. He slammed the cup back down on the table, and gave a sigh of complete satisfaction.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
To say Padme and I had made any progress at all was a drastic overstatement. The piles of metal were endlessly large and overflowing, and even as I picked one piece up, another two slipped down to take its place. This I observed with silent frustration, while Padme noisily threw small metal pieces onto the nearest shelves.
“I am sure he must have some means of sorting out all of this,” I muttered thoughtfully to myself as I picked up a small, silver object. What it was I did not know, save that its thin shaft and tiny, sharp end looked much like a pin. It was, however, too thick to be any such thing, and I could only imagine that it would be quite destructive if used on fabric. There were nearly hundreds of these in a small pile at my feet, though many of them had scattered widely about the floor. Without warning, Avery came bursting back in, his excited and somewhat disheveled demeanor not having changed in the least. His strange, accented voice met me cheerfully, the elongated vowels smoothing the tension in the air. I managed to smile pensively back at him, wondering if he would be annoyed by my lack of progress. Padme, as usual, took no thought to such things. She left her work immediately, glad to have an excuse to stop, and like Avery, she gulped the entire glass offered her down with vigor. I, feeling somewhat embarrassed by her behavior, silently took the glass from the table, nervously glancing at Avery. Perhaps his smile would not have been so strange had his eyes not been covered by those strange, bug-like glasses. Cradling the cup delicately in my hand, I brought it up from the table. My hand quavered slightly as I held it, and strangely enough, I found myself hesitant to drink the sweet smelling liquid. It was a horribly tempting scent, but I felt terribly self-conscious drinking it in front of this new acquaintance. “Er… thank you, Mr. Avery. Your thoughtfulness is very... accommodating.”

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"Oh-hoho, don't wooorry about it!" Leaning slightly to the side, Hewitt looked over at the mess. There wasn't much in the way of progress, but what should he have expected? He hadn't been gone that long, after all. He leaned back and took a moment to let his stomach settle. "Sooo, I have a sort of 'rooom' where you two can sleep for the niiight, if you'd like. This place caaame with it, and it's a buuunk bed, so no one would have to wooorry about sleeping on the flooor. Unless..." Hewitt turned to Padme, and adressed her. "Paaadme, would you mind sharing a beeed with someone? There are ooonly two." He had motioned off to an isolated door while speaking to the two. It was starting to get considerably late, and it was clear that this mess wouldn't be cleaned up any time soon. It was best to leave it to himself and his robots anyway, since they knew where everything 'went' in the place.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
"Ah, yes, one bed is enough for us. I am sorry to trouble you so." I quietly answered, staring at the cup in my hand. Padme did not appear to have any argument, so we both followed Avery to the door, curious as to what lay behind it. Though he had spoken of it as a separate room, my imagination concieved a picture of more disorderly metal...
OoC: Sorry this is so short. X.X Givin' ya time to describe Avery's house.

Re: Adventures with Metal (BrokenWing)
Right when Hewitt opened the door, he remembered the state he'd left the room in... He did usually keep it 'neat,' but had forgotten for the past two days, leaving it in what he considered 'terrible condition.' Small, half-build droids bunched up in the two left corners, a metal trash bin over-flowing with crumpled papers was under a table, which itself was covered in mostly-eaten food, and the bunk bed to the right was far from 'made.' Hewitt closed the door quickly before his guests could see in.
"Erm, I... Weeell, just give me a miiinute." He rushed into the room, closing the door again, and started frantically throwing the food bits in the trash bin. He set that aside and quickly pulled the gray cotton sheets over the beds, and flattened them out neatly, folding them over just below the white and blue pinstripe pillows. Once satasfied with that, he pushed all the droids under the bottom bed, and at the same time, had Gallagher pull the red, brown, and orange rug out from under that bed. It had been stuffed under there over time, and thus had colloceted a noticable bit of dust. Gallagher quickly shook it out, while Hewitt watched the dust get sucked into its filter. Once the rug was laid, he grabbed the trash bin, opened a hatch on the left wall, and dumped the contents down a shaft, which led to an micro-incinerator. He slid the bin under the desk, then ran to the door, and opened it. "There iiisn't much, buuut I hope it will dooo."
