BIC: "HOLY F@#$ING CRAP!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, as I barreled down the side of the mountain, a massive boulder just inches behind me. I ran for 5 minutes straight, not daring to look behind me, until I spotted a cliff up ahead. Crouching low as I ran, I bunched the muscles in my legs, and leaped off the edge of the cliff, seeing the boulder pass under me, a few deer scattering to avoid the gigantic rock. I threw my arms out, and grabbed onto the branch of a tree as I fell, almost wrenching my arms from their sockets.

"Son of a-" I hissed through my teeth, trying as hard as I cold to ignore the pain. I slowly began to climb down the tree, my breath catching in my chest, every few seconds from the pain. When I finally got to the bottom, I slammed my right shoulder against the side of the cliff I had just jumped, forcing it back into position. I let out a yelp as the bones ground against each other, but the pain quickly subsided to a dull throbbing. I did the same to my left arm, using my newly fixed right arm this time, and waited for the pain to recede. I stood there for a few seconds, my breathe labored from all the running I had been doing, and then I suddenly felt a drop of water hit my nose. I looked to the sky, and the drops started to fall faster, and thicker. Soon I was soaked, and unwilling to continue my trek up the mountain. A few yards away, I spotted what looked like a cave, and started running towards the would be shelter. As I entered the mouth of the cave, I caught a familiar scent, but couldn't place it due the dampness of the the atmosphere.

"Anyone in there?" I called into the mouth of the cave, hoping it was just the bear I had run into last night.

"What do you want?" I asked the stranger, my dagger at the back of his neck. I had hid here for about three days now and I had myself set up. I had my light ball in my pack and my tent set up in the back. "I ask again, what do you want?"

"Relax man," I said surprised and disappointed that it wasn't dinner time yet, "I was just wondering if anyone was in here...that dagger looks familiar..."

I turned to look at my assailant, and was surprised to see empty space. I then looked down for no real reason in particular, and saw my assailant, standing 2 feet shorter than myself.

"Oh," I said surprised to see the young nightling, "it's just you. We do run into each other often don't we?"

I rubbed the back of my head with my free hand. "What are you talking about? I don't know you."

"Right," I said slapping my self in the forehead. Being able to travel between dimensions meant I would often find parallels of people I'd met already. For all I knew this could be back in time from before he met me...so tiresome.

"Sorry about that," I said holding my arms above my head, "I must have confused you for someone else. My name is Azerik, I just came in here to take shelter from the rain."

I relaxed a bit. "As long as you don't plan to put that katana through me, you can stay. Now, you want some steak?"

"I'd love some," I said smiling, since it actually turned out to be dinner time, "but I'd like to hear your name first."

"My name is Tarok, What brngs you to the mountains Azerik?" I said, as I passed him the steak.

"Mostly sight seeing," I said taking a bite out of the steak, "there's supposed to be some kinda Buddhist temple at the top of the mountain or something, and I decided to go check it out. I say Buddhist temple, but I mean just the style of building, I've actually heard a few nasty legends about it so I doubt they're into non-violence."

"Never heard of em."

"Of course not," I said slapping my palm to my face, "in any case what are you doing way up in the mountain. You seem capable enough for a kid of about 10, but what's the point to being all the way out here.

"How much do you know about me?" I said, quistioningly and curiously.

"Not much," I said honestly, "you look to be about ten years old to me, and you're up in the mountain." That last part was a lie, but I really didn't know much about Tarok's past despite having met his future self. Maybe this was my chance to learn a few things.

"Eleven, actually. Yes, I know I am small. That is my race. It is-" "Nightling." Azerik said "Yeah. Ok. I have heard of the people in the temple, that is why I'm here. I have a lead to help find my da-. Someone that matters to me. I've been staking out the place and It is locked up tight. They even have wards set up, so I can't teleport in there."

"That's why I don't rely on magical transport," I said smiling, "my form of 'warping' passes through barriers and wards, because I travel outside the dimensional space in which they exist. Most magical warps involve moving ones body mass through space quickly, but mine lets me move between spaces-plural-to get where I want. Aside from that, knocking on the front door always works."

"I dought it. I saw one guy, weak and malnourished, and he came up to the door and was immedietly shocked. So don't try it."

"No," I said shaking my head, "I meant knocking the door down. We can rig some trees to go crashing down on the gates to hell, and its bye bye door."

"Well no duh," I said looking at him like he was an idiot, "I'm not gonna set up a rig to destroy a ginormous gate, just to study the inside of the devils favorite summer home. I'm trying to help you dummy."

"Why? You just met me, what, five minutes ago, and you want to help me? What's with that?"
