The City (Must have permission from me to post in this thread)

Nik Shadowed them, flying from roof top to roof top. She listened to everything they were saying, she knew they knew she was there but her curiosity just drew her to the stranger from the forest.

they entered a building, Nik waited. she flew around searching for the room they were in. when she did, she stayed outside and continued to listen to the two talk.

"What is that thing!!!" I asked Azerik, panicked. Az let out a short laugh, and says, "It's called a television. It's what people use for entertainment in this time." I proceeded cautiously, and plopped myself on the bed, and it immedietly started to suck me in. I jumped off, and was about to hit it with my bat, but Az stopped me, saying, "Don't, I'll lose the deposit." He started laughing at a joke I didn't understand, and he said, "It's a special bed that makes you comfortable by going around your figure. No need to worry." He said comfortingly. "Now, go take a shower, and I'll show you something fun about this hotel." I looked confused about something called a shower. "What's a shower?"

"It's a machine that makes it rain warm water," I said smiling with amusement, "its a faster method of cleaning than taking a bath."

As Tarok ventured into the bathroom, I sat down on the bed and flicked on the TV, and changed it to the news. A catchy little jingle played, and a female reporter appeared on the screen and said, "Another mysterious accident has occurred in the funeral district this after noon. Several workers in the district reported hearing loud crashes coming from one of the cemetery, and when they went to investigate, they found several uprooted and destroyed tombstones, and large 3 toed foot prints in the ground. No one seems to be hurt, but residents are beggining to wonder if this is a terrorist attack."

As the screen started to fade, I caught a glimpse, of a cowering group of people in the distance. One of them was close enough for me to see the chain protruding from their chest.

"Definitely a Hollow," I said to myself, "I hope he didn't manage to get to any of those souls."

Nik decided to make her move and bust in while the creature from earlier was out of the room. She busted in the window, glass rained into the room. She looked around and saw the Lycan on the bed.

"Lycan," Nik said, "that creature, I've never seen one before, what is it?"

"He's a nightling," I said seemingly unsurprised by the sudden intrusion, "I don't suppose you have money to pay for that window, so I guess I'll have to fix it."

I walked over to the broken glass, clapping my hands as I went, then placed on hand on the window frame, another on the pile of glass. There was a sudden flash of bright blue light, and then the window was good as new.

"It really pays off to learn the different scientific and magical concepts of alternate dimensions."

"You do not seem seem surprised or scared," Nik said shockingly, "what is the meaning of this?"

Nik walked over to the bed and sat down. She fluffed her wings, then looked at the Lycan, as she waited for him to answer.

"Few things surprise me nowadays," I said as I turned to face the harpy, "besides, I knew it was only a matter of time before you did something. You've been watching us since Tarok joined up with me."

"What was that?" I said, coming out of the room with the shower. I saw the Harpy, and changed my bat into a bow and arrow and trained it on her. "I've had very bad experiences with harpies, so will you please give me an explanation as to why your here?"

"She was just wondering what you were," I said giving him an exasperated look, "race wise I mean. She's never seen nightlings before apparently. Not surprising. The race of nightlings doesn't exist in very many universes."

Nik took a green substance out of her pouch and chewed it, "you would do well to lower your bow," she sallowed, "I can be behind you in a second," they stared each other down, Nik waiting for him to make a move.

"And I can be behind you in less than a millisecond," I said to the harpy as I rolled my eyes, "there's no reason to be making threats. People defend themselves against potential enemies, even a harpy should be able to understand that."

"hmmph," Nik said, "where are you two of to, I can take you there in a second."

"I can get myself there yesterday," I said smiling deviously, "in two different ways as well. We aren't going anywhere at the moment, and I was here yesterday, so that's one way of getting where we want to go yesterday. The other way involves a lot of very fast movement. So much and so fast a movement, that it breaks the barriers of time and space, allowing me to go anywhere and anywhen."

"Oh, so true. Now, would you like some home brewed tea?" This room had it's own, 'kitchen', as Azerik called it. I put my special pot on the rings, and turned the little dial. It turned on the flames, and I jumped back. Az laughed, again. I was starting to get sick of being laughed at. I filled the pan with water from the tap, and put it back on the rings. I put in a blend of herbs and spices from my pack, and waited for the tea to boil.

As Tarok went about making his tea, I pulled a rose leaf tea bag from one of the cupboards, and placed it into one the mugs I had sitting on the counter. I flipped the switch on the automatic kettle, and soon both his water, and the water in the kettle was boiled. I poured the kettle water into the mug with the teat bag, and sat back to let it steep.

"I don't get old style tea. I can't stand the stuff. Rose leafe, and raspberry leaf are the only teas I like"

I watched, amazed as Azerik just put a packet with a little boiled water and it turned into tea.

I saw Tarok's looke of surprise, and smiled.

"In this time period, they dry the tea leaves, then put them into these little packets. By drying the leaves, they ensure that it won't go bad as fast. When the water gets added, the flavor in the dried leaves seeps into the water. The concept is the same as brewing tea normally, and some people often brew it in the old style, this is simply for the sake of convenience."

This was starting to hurt my brain. I stopped brewing, and went and sat on the couch. "Mind getting one of those for me, Az? I want to give it a taste."

"Sure thing," I said taking out two kunai from inside my shorts pocket, "just gimme a sec."

I threw one of the kunai at one the mug still lying face down on the counter, and it slipped under it neatly without leaving a scratch. I threw the second one in an arc, and it landed on the end of the first, flipping the mug neatly onto its bottom. I pulled another 3 out of my pocket, and threw one at the jar containing the tea bags, making one hop out of the jar and into the mug, while I used the other two to maneuver the kettle. One tipped it so it poured the water, and I used the last one to tip it back so the water wouldn't overflow.

"They should be done in a few minutes," I said standing to retrieve the throwing knives, "and sorry about the show boating, I need to practice every so often. I wasn't originally taught how to use these in my fighting style, so I had to teach myself, and if I don't practice my aim gets messed up."
