Mysterious Forest (Jeaulm,TP or Oot)

<OOC: Haven't done this in awhile, forgive me if I'm quite sloppy>

At this intrusion Basil seemed to jump back, admitably surprised but the deviant grin spread across his lips betray interest in it all.

"It is nice to see some others here to join in my fun!" he settled back near a tree, slowly shifting behind it.

"But I fear I must warn that my brand of fun requires cleaning up afterwards and less you wish to be a part of janitorial work..." Basil lowered the goggles from his forehead and settled them over his eyes.

"I would suggest you rethink advancing..."

The deviant warrior chuckled and grinned as he watched the battle, amongst it the small water bomb he had set to light shortly before their arrival, sputtering about in the midst of them, ready to blow.

" I would suggest you rethink advancing..." said the strange man.

"Why would that be?" asked Faite, stopping short of the other two, and shooting a fireball into the fungi men.

"The name's Faite."

Basil, in a relaxed manner put his hands behind his head and stepped back slightly.

"No particular reason," he beat around the bush, "though explosions do have a tendancy, to main or kill or in proper amounts collapse mightly mountains."

He watched as this Faite fellow vigourously attacked the enemy nearby, the fungi men collapsing and withering from the ferousious fire sent into them,

"The name is Basil!" I would very much like to shake your hand however I'll have ample oppurtunity to shake it once I find where its been blown off to..."

"...and judging from the length of my rant and end of the fuse I believe that oppurtunity should come... right... about... .... "

"GUYS GET DOWN!" Faite said, hearing what Basil was saying. "There's an explosive! Get down now!" Faite said, grabbing onto both Zildor and Haradiin, and pullng them backwards. The explosion knocked Faite over, as he barely made it out.

"Big bomb." Faite said, as he got to his feet, and surveyed the surrounding area. It was mostly covered in rubble ffrom the blast.

"What, if you mind, are you doing in the underdark?" Faite asked, offering his hand out to shake.

Basil removed his goggles and lets them fall around his neck, trotting up he takes Faites hand and gives firm shaking.

"I've come to search this world end to end following in the steps of my dear teacher," Basil affirms "I seek enlightenment, to understand the workings of the world and the secrets not yet revealed."

Basil releases the hand, folding his own behind his backs.

"Its quite fortunante that we meet, I cannot help but feel you may require assistance for the time being and I would be happy to lend my services, I will most likely depart soon after but if you shall take me up on my offer then in the time we have we should get to know eachother."

Basil spins on his heels to face the other two, "perhaps the dirt in your face simply distorted my memory but I do not believe we've yet been introfuced, tell me your name friends."

Meanwhile, the after effects of the Water Bomb are setting in, with the explosion past a thick midst is enveloping the area, distorting veiw to all but the venturing deity.

As Faite introduced Haradin and I, I took the advantage to get some energy from the surrounding plant life. I glanced over to the vegetation and saw more fungi men appearing. I pointed towards them, and the others looked over there. We rushed in to attack, but more and more began appearing, until we were outnumbered to the point of defeat.

"We need to get out of here!" I yelled towards the others.

Basil then began to run towards the exit from whence we came. We ran after him and were soon lost in the darkness.

Haradin limped away as fast as he could, but did not make it far before the Fungi were right behind him, "RUN," Haradin yelled, "I will keep them busy." With a powerful stoke of his sword he cut the Fungi, but the rest advanced relentlessly. Haradin was by himself.

"Harradin needs my help. I know these tunnels better than most of us, as Im not quite sure about you Basil. I'll go get him, and we'll meet up with you around the next turn."Faite said, unsheathing his axe. "This should only take a minute."

Faite rushed back into the cavern, and launched a fireball into the center of the fungi. Since they were mushroom like creatures, they quickly set fire.

"I told you to RUN" Haradin shouted at Faite above the roar of the fire and the shrieks of the fungi men.

"I never leave a person behind." Faite said, pulling Haradin out of the cave. They quickly rounded the turn, and met back up with The other two.

"We heading to the surface, or wat?" Faite asked.

Haradin crawled to his feet, beaten and bloody, "I can't run," Haradin finally said, "my leg did not heal right when I broke it back in Alzio."

"Come on we have to catch up with the others," Faite said.

Faite ran into the cave, Haradin tried to keep up as best he could.

Faite, seeing how slow that Haradin was going had a bright Idea.

"Haradin... I'm going to have to break your leg... again."

"What?!?"

"Relax... I'm going to heal it with Troll's Bane. My sword. That would put the bone back into place." Faite said to the hobbling Haradin.

"okay then do it quickly," Haradin said with much fear.

Faite took his axe out., and prepared to make a quick hit with the back of his axe. "I thought you said you were going to use your sword!" Harradin squealed.

"I am... just hold still.... On the count of three, I'm going to break your bone... okay? Count with me. One.... Two..." Faite broke the bone on two. "Three." Faite said as haradin fell down. faite quickly pulled out his axe, and healed te bone, it fixed properly. "There... try walking on that. You may find it works better than your leg did BEFORE it was broken."

Haradin stood up and took a quick run, "wow that is much better."

Haradin and Faite ran into the tunnel to catch up with the others.

"Alas!" Basil grinned, "I had feared the worse for you, though seeing you alive makes me somewhat regret carving ur names into this tree as a memorial..."

Basil points to a tree where he had begun carving their names, Basil chuckled.

"Faite, I put your name on top because it fits you're personality. Heh."

Basil sterned up, shrugging his shoulders before either could offer a retort. Spinning his blade in his hand he cut the 'memorial' from the tree, and turned towards an unscratched bark, knive poised to inscribe something in.

"I suppose it would be best to mark our progress less we wish to get lost, though I'm open for suggestions..."

OoC: A tree... in the underdark? That makes no since... oh well this is fiction...

"I don't know where we are... so I guess... 'You are lost? or something along those lines?" Faite asked, wondering how a tree was able to grow in the twisting caverns of the underdark...

OOC: doh, one of those nit-wit moments ><, though i suppose I could just rewrite it as something else, though it might not be to big a deal. Sry comrade. Not to familiar with the setting and I assumed that if there were fungi men, i linked fungi with plants, plants with trees, and dah! Upon google, I feel like a fool!

"The answer is quite simple my dear companion!" Basil announced heartily, "however that answer I do not know, but I'm sure once I hear it it will be quite simple!"

"I mean afterall, all sorts of things seem to survive in the oddest of places. I've no surprise to see yet another oddity. Though for all I know tis' just a beast disguised ingeniusly as a tree with hanging vines and probably some acid core waiting to swallow us whole!"

"I'm no botanist," Basil pats the tree before snapping back to the proper issue. "Well, I supposed the smart thing to do will be to wander aimlessly about, leaving our luck to chance, like a roll of the dice."

"Who is ready to wander aimlessly where no man has aimed wanderously before, or something along those lines."

<I seem quite dialogue oriented, I'm to much of a smartass and ranter for my own good (><)>

Upon further gazing at the tree, Faite could start to make the outlines of small... things tracing those, he folloedthem back into the tree, and then to its roots.

"Hahahahahaha! This is no tree!" Faite said, almost falling over in laughter, "It's a giant mushroom... just like the fungi men! Hahaha...ha...h- Oh SHI RUN!" Faite said, suddenly realizing what it was. Sure enough... the tree began to rumble, and then stand. "It's the king fungi man." Faite said, slowly backing away.

The giant fungi man released a cloud of spores that covered the entire room. "The spores quickly filled the air. As Faite inhaled, he all of a sudden heard a vioce in his head. It sounded like all things natural had come together and spoken at once.

Why you destroy?

"Umm what?" Faite asked.

Why you destroy farmlands? We peaceful... leave others alone, and want peace! Why you destroy? You no want peace?

Faite caught on immediatley," Oh... Peace... those we're your farmlands... weren't they? You took our intrudance as a threat, and tried to get us out peace would be great."

You leave now. the giant thing 'thought'.

Basil coughedm the spores still lingering in the air.

"Indeed a good idea we should leave, I fear I in particular have overstayed my welcome and would prefer to make haste..."

He begins to step away with the others, but odes give a nervous glance back, "these spores by the way, are they gonna like grown on or inside us or whatever and... nevermind, if theres a problem I'll fix it some other time."

Another cough, and he turns guiltily back to leave, a slight guilt about him, not helped by the fact he had left a nice little knife cutting in the King of mushrooms.

Better to depart now peacefully thrn battling through the thicket.

These spores grow not. Said the giant king, Why you scratch me?I do nothing wrong. I sleeping, you scratch me! The fungi king wasn't so eager to let THe strange man leave just yet. He wanted ANSWERS first.

I sleep, you scratch. Why. I do something wrong?

"Splendid," Basil sighed, "about scratching you I must admit that was my mistake, in my defence I hadn't though it would be hurting anybody..."

Basil, like a child with his hands folded behind his back and foot messing about the ground.

"In my defence though," he defended himself, I didn't cut deep so it shouldn't scar, though that doesn't do much to excuse me, I fear I have to be off shortly so I do hope you accept my apology for it is quite sincere!"

Before being off though, "I have meant to ask you one thing..."

"Have you ever met any Floratieans, wonderful people, all green and leafy and a... thats not what I meant!!!"

"By any chance would you happen to be able to suggest a path out of this place or should I simply be off?"
