The Dark Crystal ((Anyone) Isn't ANYONE going to join?)

NOTE: Eve Sneak, if you read this, try to be more active. The ones who can post are: Me, Shrub, Navi007, Eve Sneak (If he posts) and Drammor!

Theme Song: Requeim For A Dream (Found by Shrub)

OOC: This is my first RPG on this forum, as well as the first RPG for my character, so I hope it goes well. It better not die. I'm using my only character so far, Kuldr Adurna. (Link in signature)

BIC:

I was polishing my blade; Lifa; under a massive Oak tree near the bend in a a river. I was with a millitary camp of elves hiding behind a rock formation that reminded me somehow of a dung heap. It was about midnight, and we were all doing our best to remain quiet, as if the enemy ehard us we would be forced to attack unprepared. If all went well we would be invading in the morning, though wether it would become a siege or an assault is still under question.

I kept polishing until I could see myself in it. I spun it around and gave it a few practice swings, admiring how it caught the light. Just then Lieutenant T'val approached from his command tent, looking concerned yet firm, as he always did. He could be an odd man at times. One moment he's yelling at you for screwing up a mission, the next he's praising you for good work.

Once he reached me, he said in a hushed tone "Kuldr Adurna, as you know we're supposed to invade the mountain tomorow. However, some of our humain spies reported that the Dark Elves are gathering large chunks of amethyst, black opal and onyx. We know not what they are planning to do with the crystals, but we fear of some sort of enchantement will take place. I am going to delay the assault until we have more information. I need you to scout out for any passageways we can send spies into to sabotage the crystal. Make sure it leads into the mountain, and if it does, report back to me. Hopefully the crystal is only for decoration, but we can never be too careful."

"Alright, I'll try. If any stand in my way I will crush their skulls with my sword and hide their bones, never to be buried." I couldn't help but smirk as he walked away. This night was getting boring, it was about time I got to do something. Contrary to what T'val might have thought, I reveled at the chance to potentially kill something.

I briefly visited my tent to pick up some supplies. A few potions, various enchanted objects and a rune encrypted with a spell of healing. I decided to leave my armour, as it would only weigh me down and make more noise. This was potentially espionnage, so armour wasn't really necesary if alls I was going to do was to assasinate. I crept along the rock formation and glimsped at the ground ahead of me. It was mostly rocky plains, but about 3 miles away rested a mountain that would even make a giant rethink climbing it. It was only about five-thousand feet tall, but it was made mostly of the darker rocks such as onyx. The whole thing had an ominous feeling to it, as if the mountain itself was the reason fo all hate in the world.

No wonder the Dark Elves turned on us like this, if this was one of the places where they lived. I thought as I started to scout the plains. It was an exceedingly boring job, my enemies were closer to the mountain and there wasn't much of interest. After an hour, I decided if there was a secret passage, it would be closer to the mountain itself.

I crept within a mile of the mountain, where the enemy Elves patrolled the area. I suspected the only reason they guarded the area so closely was because of some passage they used. I snuck through the area, shielding my mind and using any cover I could while searching for an entrance. If I was spotted, it would be game over. After only ten minutes, I spotted what appeared to be a crevice between a few rocks. One elf was guaeding it closely though, he never went more than a few meters from it.

This must be something, or else he would have left to guard somewheres else by now. I figure the only way to get in there would be to kill him. And so I did. Since magic would alert everyone nearby of my presence, I had to go physical. Using rocks and the ocasional bush for cover, I crept up on him. When I was naught but a few feet away, I leaped from my hiding spot and charged at him with Lifa drawn. He spotted me and was about to yell out, but just as he opened his mouth my blade stabbed him in the heart. He died instantly and fell to the ground noiselessly. Since others would notices his corspe, I took it with me as I decended into the rift.

It descended for about 100 feet before leveling out and going straight towards the mountain. I left his body on the ground, and advanced through the tunnel. I had to smile, the seemingly tough enemie couldn't even notice me sneak into one of their most heavily guarded areas. Either they were just stupid, or I was too smart for them. But, before I could go back I had to make sure the tunnel actually served a purpose. I walked onward for what seemed like forever until I came across a circular room that had four torches spread among it. As I walked to the center of the room, I heard footsteps from behind me. I turned around at inhumain speed and starred at my pursuer.

I was too late though, and before I could reconize who it was a dart flew out of the dark and hit me in the chest. I slumped to the ground, conciousness escaping me. My limbs felt like jelly, and couldn't move. Just before I passed out, I heard someone talking.

"...a spy it seems. Relieve him of his weapons, drug him and put him in the dungeon with the others. Too many people wander here, we've even caught several travellers that passed here and got too close for our liking." Then I blacked out.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

OoC: Well, here goes my first post.

BiC: Rontu glared into the darkness but saw it differently than Khaz, who only knew the pitch black of nothingness cloaking his eyes. His sight was open and showed him the world in different colors. It was mostly the cool of blue and purple shades, except for the bright outline of the other people in the room. Their bodies burned yellow, orange, and red in his eyes. There were several people in this dark hole they were roughly thrown into. All bound together. Everything was quiet besides his Hylian companion next to his side.

He heard Khaz’s heavy and ragged breathing. Rontu couldn’t find it in him to scold him for it. The last time Khaz had been captured by dark elves they had also drugged him and tortured his friend right before his eyes. He doubted being bound, drugged, and thrown into darkness brought back any fond memories.

It didn’t make him very comfortable for that matter. The drug felt shockingly familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it. His thoughts swam. It was hard to keep focused. Despite himself, he felt and heard as his heart started pounding in his ears. For a moment he swore he heard a drum, but that was probably just his heart in his ears making him hear odd things. He was drugged … but he couldn’t seem to hold the thought. It was like trying to hold water in his hands, the focus and thoughts just slipped through the harder he tried …

It saw dark suddenly, but for some reason his sight wouldn’t open. All he knew was that he dangled upside down. Arms bound and hanging above his head, the fine wound rope around his ankles cut and chaffed against his skin from the pressure applied for what seemed like hours, days. There was no time here. Just slow pains.

It was quiet … and then suddenly it wasn’t anymore. He heard footsteps above him, many stumbling steps.

And then they started screaming.

Voices of young men turned higher by pain of an unknown source. They screamed and wailed above him in the darkness of the ceiling that he must have hung—

“Rontu, damn it, wake up!”

A bright and warm body appeared in from of his eyes—the darkness gone. His entire body was clenched, but as strong hands shook him wake he threw himself hard again the dark stone ground, slamming his head and tightening his body, if at all, farther. His gaze darted around wildly, scanning the bodies around him quickly. The sound of his fast heart filling his ears, lungs uncomfortably compressed.

“Who’s screaming?!” he half snarled half gasped.

The figure in front of him remained silent for a short moment.

“No one’s screaming … You look like hell, by the way.” His mind finally started to register that voice. A young man’s sarcastic tone at the end. It was Ren. “Though … Khaz looks like he’s about to … that or faint,” the boy drawled.

He seemed to have found the cooperation of his lungs, regaining breath. He felt that heavy ache in his body, like he used to when having drunk for the entire week and spent the mornings regurgitating his insides into a chamber pot. He found himself regretting the wild jerk of his body when awakening. His head pounded like it had been split in two. He closed his eyes for darkness. The bright colors of Ren’s body heat stabbed pains deep into his brain. And Ren always seemed to burn more brightly than anyone he had ever known before. His natural body temperature being unusually high.

Given the darkness he forced his brain into motion again. It seemed he was starting to recover from the drugs. He could hold a train of thought.

“Why aren’t you passed out too? And why aren’t you bound …? Nevermind, stupid question …” he said.

He could almost hear the brat’s sneer. “Wow, you must really be out of it to ask such a dumb question … Their bindings are flimsy as hell, and the drug they gave me doesn’t seem to work for those with dragon blood.”

Rontu exhaled slowly, trying to keep his stomach from doing uncomfortable flips. Despite his closed eyes, he still felt like he was spinning which was terribly familiar too.

“Lucky little bastard …” he grunted and then added, “I’m gonna kill Khaz when we get out of here.”

Ren chuckled but there was the taste of bitterness at the end. “Well … to be fair he isn’t having anymore fun than you are …”

He let his focus drop back to Khaz’s whimpering next to him. He turned his head to his left and found the Hylian’s form huddled in a fetal position, hands bound behind him, head pressed against his knees. His glowing body was shaking and rocking himself back and forth. He looked like such a small child when he did this…

“Screaming … screaming … screaming,” he heard Khaz whisper so quietly he had to focus his hearing even more.

The words made Rontu’s gut tighten and brought him back to what he had just seen. Just another nightmare … nothing new … And he pushed it from his mind. He had things to do. Like get the hell out here. Of course, it was their luck they would stumble upon a dark elf camp. It was Khaz’s fault, being noisy and stumbling around, tripping on his own feet and any tree root he could find. It was impossible to be stealthy with this Hylian in his company. And then when they were ambushed the moron got himself held hostage, dragging them all the way into these caves.

He heard foot steps and so did Ren for they both became utterly still, like street cats freezing at sudden noises. Ren then quickly sat back down on the ground on Rontu’s right, grabbed his broken bindings, and held his hands behind his back. Two dark elves came, dragging a new hot glowing form between them. They opened the door they made to this cave opening and pushed the new comer inside, shut the door, and walked away.

OoC: I don’t know if your dark elves are the same as what I know as the drow, who are known to have heat vision like Rontu. The characters I’m using are Rontu, Khaz, and Ren. Link is in my sig “figments of my imagination”.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Ooc: Wohoo! Count me in! My character link is here.

BIC:

I was surprised to find such hostility upon the great mountain which I had climbed. Rumors had been spoken of an ancient elven tribe that lived upon it, and among the mysteries they held, I had been sure that they would hold the answer to my exsistance. How long I had been traveling since the departure of my village I did not know, but any distance whatsoever meant nothing to me. I had to know what I was, who my kin were. Unfortunantly, I quickly found that the pointy-eared creatures I met were not interested in answering questions.

“I mean you no harm,” I said calmly, lowering my glass-like staff onto the ground to show it. A small group of pointy-eared creatures had surrounded me suddenly upon rounding a particularly large boulder. They looked much like humans, though the magical aura about them was too strong for them to be such. Their ears were pointy, too, and there were some among them with white hair without appearing old at all. So these must be what they call elves…

“What buisness does a humain have here?” A particularly tall elf asked. Though his voice was almost melodic, there was a disturbing tone of animosity in it.

I gazed back at the armed man calmly, unmoved by his hostility. It wasn’t strange that people found me threatening, what with my eyes that others claimed to glow. “I seek the knowledge of the great elves. There are some questions to which I believe they have answers.”

“Hear that?” The elf scoffed, laughing with those around him. “A mere humain wishes us to impart of our wisdom! Are you blind, whelp? You have walked into the middle of a war far beyond your mortal understanding!”

“I apologize, I—“

“Get this pitiful creature out of my sight.” The elf ordered with a sneer. He turned away from me as his other men came toward me, their swords gleaming hungirly in the moonlight.

I took a defensive stance, knowing that I could protect myself with my fire. However, despite the dire situation I had put myself into, I could not bring forth my power. It would invaribly bring death upon these creatures which I knew so little of, and only the goddesses knew how powerful they were. “Wait! Please! Surely you would not kill a creature that means you no—“ Something hit me hard in the back of the head before I could finish, causing my mind to fall into darkness.

By the time I found my conciousness again, I was lying on a cold stone floor. My head was swimming in pain, struggling to remember what had caused it. It appeared as if I had fallen into a dark abyss with no end of it in sight. The tiny amount of light that illuminated from my open eyes revealed only what I already knew— That I was lying on some kind of hard rock floor. It was only the sound of a door opening and a loud thud that followed that revealed the presence of another being.

“H-hello?” I whispered timidly, “is anyone there?”

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

(OOC: Shrub, Drows and Dark Elves are the pretty much the same thing in this, but I suppose it'd be easy to invent a reason for your predicament. Also, Eve Sneak, yes you can be in this. You'll be the last person, or we'll have too many people to keep track of.)

BIC:

I was dreaming. Well, I'm not really sure, but this seems too peaceful compared to what happened to be real. I looked around and found myself in a small meadow. A small brook trickled down a few meters to the west. All types of trees you could imagine were there, birches, redwoods, oaks, even a palm tree. Surely it couldn't be real, but I found inner peace here. I stood up and starred up at the sky. Oddly enough, there was no sun. I was about to dip my hands in the brook before the harsh clang of metal and the impact of being thrown onto rock disturbed me.

Instantly, my dreams turned more violent. The trees turned black and charred, fires raged on everywheres around me. And to my horror, the brook run with crimson blood instead of water. I started to panic. I feared I'd turn insane if I couldn't get out of this dream. I tried punching myself, pinching myself, but nothing worked. I was trapped. Just as was about to accept my fate when suddenly I was jerked await by a multitute of presences around me.

I shot my head up and looked around. I was in a cold, hard cell made of stone. My eyes darted around, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. There were several people; or thing; around me. I reconized a Drow, though I had no idea what a Dark Elf was in here for. I also noticed another elf.. Or was it an elf? It didn't seem to possess enough magic to be even a Wood Elf. Finally, I noticed that another personw as here, but he wasn't bound in any way. I couldn't make out exactly what he ways, but he had the air of both a humain and a dragon.

What have I gotten myself into? This is like Death's welcome party. If I ever get out of this I'm going to start opening my mind to other people more often so things like this don't happen...

(OOC:I'm not really sure if Leonna's in another cell or not, so that's why I didn't mention her)

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Ooc: Uh…I just assumed Leonna would be in the same cell (for the sake of a simple introduction into the other characters), but I apologize for the vaugeness. I suck at intros.

BIC:

There wasn’t much sound after the invasive noise, but I began to hear whatever had entered breathe. As I concentrated on the sound, I heard the breathing of even more creatures, making it clear that I wasn’t alone. Of course, it was too dark to see, but I sensed a great magical aura eminating from whatever creatures were in the cell. More elves, perhaps? There is a strong light aura, but there is also great darkness, a thick cloud that hangs over some of these beings…

Then I became aware of another sensation. My wrists and ankles were sore, a result of them having been tightly bound together. The pain in my head had subsided to a dull throbbing, giving me enough concentration to remember why I had ended up here in the first place.

I must have been taken captive…unless this is Hell. In the perfect darkness, I could hear the sound of a man whimpering, fear plain in the words I could not make out. Everything else in the room seemed to be breathing heavily as well, as if fear had silently crept into each one of them. “Is everyone alright?” I asked the darkness, not really caring whether it was an intelligent question or not.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

(OOC: Don't worry, it's okay. Just remember guys to post a lot or you'll get left behind)

BIC:

"Yeah, sure, as fine as one can be stuck in a rock cell who-knows how deep surrounded by dark magicians and the occasional humain. I should be thankful I guess alls they did was throw me in here, as I have no desire to have a bunch of cowards chain me to a wall." So there it was, a fifth creature in this room.

A half dragon, a drow, me, some random humainoid creature wimpering in the corner, and now a... humain? No, too adept in magical skills. After examining the whimpering thing in the corner, I confirmed that it was not elvish. The most likely case would be Hylian. I can hope he won't kill me, but I'm not so sure about the drow and the half dragon. If I could see better it might help, but the guards weren't even kind enough ro give us a torch. Maybe if I had my armour I could try to use it to get out.

"Alright... I'm going to try to have my armour teleport here. I mgiht be able to use it to get out of here..." I concentrated as hard as I could... But my mind was fuzzy. It felt as if my brain wasn't properly receiving the information the world was giving me. I tried to access the magic... But I couldn't. Suddenly I remembered how I was drugged. We had absolutely no hope of getting out of here as long as the drug existed.

"Okay, nevermind. We're drugged. So... Any ideas as to how we're going to get out of here? I have to destroy some giant crystal made of onyx, amethyst and black opal. Who knows what sort of enchantements they placed on it." I put my back against the wall and looked at the Drow.

"Do you know anything? I mean, I would have suspected you were WITH the enemy, not locked up in here. Do you know anything about what they're planning to do with the crystal?"

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Ren peered at the elf across the room, narrowing his eyes at him and snorted. Being part dragon made his eyes perfect. He could see through this darkness easily. Rontu stared at his burning form as well, though his gaze was more impassive than the boy’s.

“Oh, so you think ‘cause he’s a drow he knows anything about what these people are up to?” said Ren. “He ain’t with them. We were just traveling through here when we were attacked. Lucky they didn’t kill him for being a goddamn heretic yet. None of us know anything about this crystal crap you’re talking about. And it’s none of our business anyway. We’re getting the hell out of here and that’s it. Don’t think just because we’re all locked up in here that we’re chums now, idiot.”

He leaned over to Rontu, reaching under him and breaking his ropes. He stood up, walked over to Khaz, and paused. His face tightening with an uncomfortable expression at he looked at the trembling Hylian at his feet. Trying not to be disgusted by how pathetic he was being.

“As for escape, I’ll break your binds but other than that you’re on your own, got it?”

He leaned down next to Khaz to break his bindings.

Rontu snorted and rubbed his wrists, slowly sitting up. “Since when do you make all the decisions, Ren?"

The boy whipped his head to glare with that killing red gaze of his at his friend.

“Oh come on, we’ve got better things to do. It’s hard enough to take care of ourselves, why do we have to give a damn about these people?”

The drow leaned against the wall, folding his arms across his chest, and looked to Ren.

“Well, I was under the impression that you weren’t just going to leave your weapons with them. Isn’t your sword and your knife of dragon-made steel? Very rare, and so is my sword, besides that I’m rather attached to it,” said Rontu. “And we’re a little short on options. I’m drugged and feel like crap, and who knows how long Khaz’s panic attack is going to last … Basically, we need the extra help.”

Ren did lessen the glare of his eyes at the mention of his weapons. Akane, Rin, and Isamu … He had to agree that there was no way he was leaving without them. But he stood up, bristling like an angry cat at the end.

“Extra help? I’m more than enough, even with both of you bums. And Khaz is probably better this way. At least he doesn’t trip much all still like this …”

Rontu’s mouth twitched with a slight smirk at Ren’s pride. “Yes, yes, I’m well aware of your strength, but I’m not taking any chances like when we got caught in the first place. Who knows, we may all be heading the in same direction if they’ve also taken the weapons of the rest here. Might as well join up while it’s convenient.”

Ren scowled but bent back down and snapped Khaz’s ropes around his ankles.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

It was difficult to determine which was the greater threat: the dark elves outside of this prison or the creatures within. One, apparently, was on some strange sort of mission for a rock, though he did seem somewhat friendly. The red-eyed man seemed too much like a mercanary (Ren, they had called him), caring about nothing but his own survival. The calmer voice that had quieted him seemed no more kind, moved only by logic. And as for the whimpering man--Khaz, he seemed to be the only real humane person here, though he did seem to be more of a burden than a help.

Do I risk revealing my power here? It is clear that they don't mean to help anyone but themselves, but should I reveal myself...who is to say they would not attack me? Still, they seem strange and powerful themselves, nothing like the humans I have known. If I only use a little, surely it would be almost trivial to them...

Taking that thought in mind, I began to focus my energy, forcing it into my hands. For one reason or another, the drug the other men had spoken of did not phase me in the least. As most poisons did, my blood felt somewhat inflamed, but such a thing tended to force my flame out rather than contain it. Soon enough, the rope around my wrists began to smoke, a small flame rising from the thick cord.

The small light from the flame threw itself against the other men in the room, just barely showing the outline of their bodies. From what I could see, they all had a muscular shape, like those that are heavily trained in combat. However, what was much more frightening to see was their eyes, gold and red orbs piercing through the darkness.

What am I waiting for? The only creatures to scare here are nothing short of hostile. Somewhat intimidated by their gaze, I forced a much hotter flame out, consuming the ropes on my wrists in a flash of light. Once I could again move my arms freely, I shot another flame out from my hands, eating up the rope on my feet in mere seconds. The intense heat that eminated from the flames comforted me, though it could not have been comfortable for the others in such a small room.

"It will take more than brute force to escape such a place as this. Are you even aware of where we are held? How many gaurds await you behind these stone walls? If you wish to escape with your lives, at least have the patience to act rationally." I stood carefully, brushing off the burnt remains of rope that had been tied around my wrists.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Rontu grimaced at the sudden light, the heat making the light glow in his sight much too bright and sending pain burning into his sensitive skull. He closed his eyes and silently cursed the girl’s stupidity. Of course, she probably did not much of drow to know he was using a second vision at the moment that would be sensitive to the heat of her flames. The sudden light and fire made the Hylian yelp and curl up against the wall, shaking. The heat bothered Ren not. He liked it even, though he was not much concerned about it for the moment. He eyed the human girl as she did her magic and spoke. He sneered at her words, turning up his head in an arrogant tilt at her.

“When you’re this strong you don’t have to be smart or rational,” said the dragon boy, arrogance dripping from his teeth. “Though, I guess being so weak you wouldn’t know. These fools are nothing to me but spiders …”

His red eyes bore at her for a moment longer. He had seen the expression on her face before. Her thoughts were plain there. She didn’t like them, just like everyone else. People only seemed to warm up to Khaz, who was kind and chatty. Rontu being so big and a drow, and Ren with his white hair and red eyes seemed to gain them a wide distance from others. But she was just a stupid girl who knew nothing.

Rontu crawled over to Khaz as Ren did this and started to whisper to him, keeping his voice low from the others. Khaz had flinched slightly as Rontu approached him.

“Khaz, it’s fine. See, your bindings are gone. We won’t stay trapped here. We’re going to get out in one whole piece. No one’s hurt, no one’s screaming …” he paused at those words but then continued. “You’re in this cave with me and Ren. That’s where you are. Not the dungeons of Hyrule Castle … or any torture rooms. There’s no one here but us and some strangers. So look up—look at me.”

Khaz had his legs against his chest, hands wrapped over his spiky black hair. He didn’t respond for several moments, so Rontu grabbed his wrists and forced his hands away from his head.

“Look at me,” he uttered to his friend, yet again.

The Hylian kept his head down for a moment longer, but then very slowly raised his head up to look at the drow with his dark blue eyes wide with terror and confusion. Rontu saw cool tracks of blue down his yellow and orange face. The cooled damp trails of previous tears.

“There, you see where you are now. You need to pull yourself together if you want to get out of here as fast as possible. Can you stand?”

Khaz stared at him and then slowly nodded, swallowing. He looked around himself. Eyes still wide, as if just realizing where he was. He blinked, starting to regain control again. He looked back at Rontu, who let go of his wrists now.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Many names and other pieces of information became clear to me suddenly. The thing whimpering in the corner was definitly Hylian, but what help a coward like him could be I don't know. The Drow's name was Rontu, and he seemed calm despite this happening. Ren, the half dragon, had a very big temper problem. If I was in any position to reliatate I would have struck him down then and there. The one who sent the heat out was most likely not elvish, as she conjured up magic while being drugged.

Most likely faeri... Maybe I will live through this. Even if I am stuck with an excuse for a dragon, a dark elf, a faeri and some crybaby Hylian.

"Alright. We're all trapped here together at the moment, so let's try to keep calm and not kill eachother. We're all free of our shackles, though I suspect someone was supposed to come here soon to bind me up considering they just threw me in here. With that, I have a plan. Considering they expected you guys to be drugged and trapped, and me uncousious, the door to this place will probably be left open when a guard comes in to deal with me. My plan is that we wait until he comes, then, when he's far in, someone kill him silently. We'll then have Ren do anything he can to destroy any trace of the corspe. Take his keys, and we'll leave the cell and kill anyone nearby. Lock the door behind us so it doesn't appear suspicious, destroy any bodies. Then we can try to figure out where our weapons are being held. Wether or not you help me deal with the crystal is up to you, but we have to focus on the present" I eyed around confidently.

I mean, what else could they do but agree? Though, I suspect Ren won't be too happy about me telling him to do something, but as before Rontu should be able to calm him.

(OOC: Sorry for the post being short, I had to go in the middle of writing it.)

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Kill, kill, kill; is that all these people think about? I sighed deeply, shaking my head. Taking lives was not something I was eager to do, no matter how critical our escape was. I didn't like having nothing to go on either, throwing ourselves out blindly into what could be a terrible ambush. "Nothing good comes from bloodshed, though right now, it is clear that there are no other options." I eyed Ren cynically, hoping that his temper wouldn't ruin any element of surprise that we may have. "If this Ren is as good as he says he is, I suppose we will have nothing to fear."

I felt a little more confidence that my flame had caused at least one of the men to recoil; it was nice to know that I had some sort of power compared to theirs. Let us pray that whatever it is will be enough...

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

“Actually, I agree,” said Rontu, slowly standing, using the stone cave wall as support. “If we kill, shed not their blood. Khaz,” gestured to the Hylian at his feet, “faints at the sight of too much blood. I’d prefer not to carry him all the way through this.”

He eyed the girl carefully now, remembering that the other man seemed unable to perform magic because of the drug. Yet this girl was completely unaffected, like Ren. Which meant she was not human or elf. At the moment she appeared to dislike violence, but it could be a clever act. He never let this guard down and wasn’t about to any time soon. Little did these strangers know that greater dangers hunted the three. This girl could be an assassin for all he knew.

Ren was tensing with anger at the elf telling him what to do, but he wasn’t so stupid to start shouting in this cave, lest they be heard too soon. Though he had half a mind to shout anyway, he’d kill anyone who came. But he hissed quietly at the elf anyway. He could control himself … sometimes.

“Oh? And how exactly do you want me to eliminate any trace of them? Break and rip them into little pieces and bury them in the stone floor? Ask the damn girl. Seems she could burn them to ash if she wanted to, which would take care of our coward’s blood problem. I’ll snap their necks.” And then sneered at the girl in the dark, of course he was as good as he said he was.

“We should capture one and force the location of the weapons and crystal out of them. Pray not we come across any of their women … if you think the men are bad enough, their women are far more aggressive and brutal,” said Rontu. He looked to the girl of unknown species and smiled coldly at her. “You’ve never experienced the true nature of drow before. If you had, you wouldn’t be so hesitant to kill them. We are heinous folk. Just a look at my companion here can tell you how their acts can break a person’s mind.”

Rontu left it up to them to decide which person he meant by this. Either Ren or Khaz told some of this truth in their own ways.

Khaz slowly stood but avoided the eyes of everyone in the room as he dried his face and tried to regain what remained of his dignity. His insides burned at Rontu’s words for he knew that he meant him by these words. He leaned against the wall, silent for a moment but then looked up again. Though it was useless now, the girl’s fire was gone leaving him in complete darkness once more. The only one of the three who had no sight for darkness.

“Please, forgive my friends for their rudeness,” he smiled weakly though no one could see it. “They don’t really know how to talk to people. If we are going to be working together to get through this then we should introduce ourselves, ne? My name is Khaz Serwen. My friends are Rontu Nyzento and Ren Nevisu.”

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Ooc: I hope no one minds me posting again...if you do, just scream or something...

BIC:

"People are heinous because they choose to be." I said with a pointed glare at Ren. "I'm of half a mind to turn you into cinders. Burning any corpse at the speed you are thinking of would be like creating a volcano in the heart of this evil place. If that does not draw enough attention to our escape, I am sure that you will make up for the deficit. Our best option is to stow any corpses here; once our escape is known, it will not matter whether this room is empty or not."

I folded my arms defensively, becoming more and more uncomfortable as the gaze of the strangers remained on me. Despite the one man's kindness, I was not moved in the least. I was stuck in this dark place with these dark people who no doubt had nothing but more dark intentions to fufill if we did manage to escape.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

OoC: Nah, you heard Stick Link. Post as much as ya can or lest be left in the dust ^^ Your post is small anyway, no biggie. He should be careful for what he wishes for. At first he didn't think anyone was going to join but then three people show up. He hopes that the thread doesn't die and gets two fast RPers with nothing better to do

BiC:
Ren sneered at her words yet again and smirked when she pointed her eyes at him meaningfully. Stupid girl, making idiotic assumptions.

“You think your fire frightens me, girl? Us dragons don’t burn easy, moron. We were born from flame and earth,” he spat, his eyes set on her as he continued to leer. Really, she was like an open book to him. All her inner thoughts written on her face. She did not only dislike them but part of her was afraid too. “What’s the matter, feeling threatened? Think we’ll hurt you? Is fire the only pretty trick you’ve got? Well, don’t think so highly of yourself. Why would I waste my time killing you?”

For once Ren wasn’t the only person offended here. Khaz felt her words ring in his ears and anger bubbled inside him.

“Don’t,” Khaz’s voice, though quiet, trembled with his temper for a moment, “make assumptions about them! Don’t act so high and mighty when you know nothing about who they are. You see their appearance and words and assume you can already judge the depth of their character? These are good people, though rough around the edges, or I wouldn’t have wasted my time on them! What Ren is really saying is that he wouldn’t kill someone innocent like you; and Rontu acts like he doesn’t care but if you were going die he’d save you—so shut up!”

Ren and Rontu turned to stare at their friend oddly. Ren looked stuck between confused and disgusted. The drow only raised a brow slowly before saying, “well … that’s enough of this bickering. I think everyone here can agree that there are more important things at hand, and Khaz is right, I’d like to know the names of those who I ally myself with. So … what are your names?”

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Ooc: Okay! Here comes another one, then!

BIC:

I bit back the fire that wanted to lash out, hit hard by Khaz's words and tamed by Rontu's logic at the same time. I too, knew what it was like to be judged by such a thing as simple as the color of my eyes, but I had never thought I would be one to harshly judge others. Don't judge them? What would any rational being think? They have made their intentions clear, and yet this man claims they would lay down their lives for me. But...

"Hemanias! Why are you coddling that demon!"

"Fools! Do you not see that she rescued you? Those monsters would have killed you had she not intervened!"

"Hemanias...don't...those wounds...only a...a monster would do something like that..."

My anger faltered at the memory that manifested itself by his words. He speaks so much like Hemanias did; so much faith in his friends. He also speaks the truth...I cannot speak of such things when I, myself...am a monster.

I averted my eyes from Ren, a strange emptiness filling in where my anger had been. "I am Leonna. I was..." I swallowed my pride, knowing Ren would be quick to trample on it, "I was wrong to treat you so. This place is so full of darkness, and it is that which I loathe, not you."

Ooc: Sorry about the flashback, it just seemed like a good way to convey Leonna's feelings, or something like that...

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

I listened to the others intently, trying to glean as much information as I could. No matter how hard you try, you always say information about yourself or others thing without noticing it. I found much out about them personally, but I frowned when Rontu made no hints about the crystal.

Maybe he's telling the truth, and actually knows nothing about it? Either way, I still don't trust anyone here fully besides myself. They could secretly all be prison guards trying to coax me into giving up information. Ah well, I guess if that's true I won't be getting out of here anyways. No harm in at least saying my name...

I shifted while I wrestled in my mind, trying to make a possible; and logical; solution to all this. Finally I submitted myself.

No harm can be done, I guess.

"Eh, I'll give you the priviledge of knowing my name, at least since we're all stuck here. Kuldr Adurna. Member of the High Elven clan the Quan. In military service for 37 years, gifted with light and water. What it means is up to you to find out if you don't understand. Now that we're all nice and aquainted, we have to be more serious. Fine, there will be no blood when we break out. At least for now, I cannot guarranty that there will be no bloodshed in the future." I paused to let what I said sink in, so they wouldn't think I'm long-winded.

"Some of you may be thinking why we can't use magic to break out. Now, if you are, I'm dissapointed any magician or sorcerer can be so narrow minded not to realize something. The drows have most likely but some wards around this cell to kill or incacipitate anyone who uses magic."

To emphasize my point, I took a lare stone off the ground, weighing about twenty pounds. It was as easy as lifting paper. I held it up for everyone to see.

"Now, if I threw this at the door to our cell, obviously it wouldn't break. They prepared for that. But if I used magic I could make it fly at amazing speed and most likely blow the door off. Any dim-witted slug could figure that out, and I doubt the enemy is stupid. Anyone who tried that would have some method of magic kill them. Theoritically you could protect against it if you knew in what manner the magic attacked you. Which we don't. So we cannot uses magic until we're out of here."

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Khaz felt a little guilty after Leonna apologized. There was a sad hollow feeling he got from her voice now. Had he touched a wound without realizing it? He was glad she took back her words, but perhaps he had been too harsh?

Ren took his eyes off Khaz and swallowed any retort he had been forming at being defended. He hated it when he was defended by Khaz. But there were more important things. Believe it or not, he did once have to use his brain to survive while he had been in the empire. He listened to this elf Kuldr Adurna explain. He didn’t like this guy much either. He had paused before giving his name. It felt like he didn’t trust anyone here, which Ren supposed the feeling was mutual here. He had mostly ignored the girl who had apologized to him. He didn’t care what she said to him or what she thought.

He rolled his eyes after Adurna finished and said, “Well, then why don’t I just rip the damn door off?”

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

"Well go ahead. Have fun getting ripped to shreds by magic and melee the second you step outside. Maybe the drug does have an effect on you and you can't think of the obvious. You cannot take on perhaps an entire battalion of guards. One will send an alarm and everyone in this damn mountain would tear as you shreds. I hereby stand with my old plan. Assasination is our only choice until we find our weapons again." I was getting annoyed. Arrogance was becoming an all-too common part of this.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming from the hallway outside. Along with the sound of keys being spun in a circle. I spoke in a quieter tone.

"Listen, that's probably the guy coming to shackle me. Unless you want him to see you out of your bindings, I suggest you follow with my plan. Whether you want too or not, I'm going to make myself go into unconsiousness with magic. Wether you want to silently kill him or get destroyed, it's your choice." With that, I crept into my earlier position on the hard, stone floor.

"Don't worry, I can take myself out of it at any time."

I uttered a few words of magic and lost all perception of the world.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Anyone)

Ren grounded his teeth together in the effort to keep his mouth shut, yet again. The bastard just had to get the last word in, because the guard was coming and because he was unconscious before he could say anything back. He went and crouched nearby the door, deciding he would just take his frustration out on the guard that was about to come in. Khaz and Rontu sat down shortly after too and placed their hands behind their backs, pretending to still be bound.

A few more thoughts swept through his mind. No one here really trusted each other, but there was no helping that. Rontu himself really didn’t trust anyone here besides Ren and Khaz. Now that he thought about Khaz, he realized the Hylian should no symptom of having been drugged. The only thing that had kept him rooted to the ground was his own trauma. He had already recovered from the drug? Had his body cleared it from his system already?

There was the jiggling of keys and the scratching of metal as the guard opened the door and stepped inside. Ren let him pace over to the side where Adurna lay before, with utter silence in his steps, coming up behind him and grabbing his head, giving it a quick snap to the side and the dark elf went limp in his hands. Ren slowly laid the man’s body to the ground so no noise was made by it. He found his keys and tucked it in his coat pocket for temporary safe keeping.
