Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OOC: Okay, folks. It's been a while since I've RPed here, thanks to IRL situations. But now I'm back, and I'm looking for an old-fashioned questing RP, so I'll start it up.
At most, I'd like two get two people in here, although one person is perfectly fine. Fantasy characters only, presented in a realistic fashion (that means no demigods, and preferrably relatively-limited magic users), and no rediculous giants or crazy outlandish characters. In short, humanoids only. Open Slots: 1.) Tribunal Power-- Mathias Blackharrow 2.) Jeaulm-- Faite 3.) Sir Calibur-- Karin Kokiri Keep in mind that, since our characters will be meeting whithin the gauntlet, there is very little to differentiate them from enemies. Introductory combat is perfectly fine, and PvP combat, though it needs to be brief for compliance to CR rules, is allowed here. Let's get to it! IC: The Nighteye potion showed everything to Mathias' eyes in shades of green and blue, illuminating the distinctively ancient corridors of the dark ruins. Mathias ravelled his map back up and slid it back into place in the bag at his side, continuing to creep down the long hall. "The next room should be just around that corner up ahead," he thought as he carefully hushed his steps on the grey stone floor. He could see the reflecting light of a flickering flame on the wall several yards ahead, and knew that he had come to the first chamber. Silently shimmying up the wall to peek around the corner, he saw two men standing at the mouth of the door up ahead. They wore poorly-maintained mail and plate armor, and were armed with polearms-- one a halberd, one a spear. Their equiptment was such that Mathias expected the rest of the enemies to have better quality armor of a lesser type, such as leather or bridandine. The men were too distant to approach with his mace and shield. They would spot him, and fighting two against one would spell doom, especially since the enemies had easily twice the weapons range. Mathias knew he would have to take a different approach. He could use one of his potions, but quarters were a bit too tight for that. If he used firestorm, he might be caught in it. His acid potion could catch him in toxic fumes. His only other option was risky, but at least it would manage the problem at hand. Whipping around the corner, the two guards' eyes twitched to him. Before they could so much and shift position, a thunderous bang was heard, and the guard on the right lost the better portion of his face. The second guard was startled, but rushed toward Mathias with his spearhead thrust forth. Mathias quickly rotated the barrels of his pistol and fired a hasty second shot, which tore through the chainmail coif and slammed into the man's shoulder. But with the man already in motion, the spear still posed a threat, and Mathias was forced to answer to it. He had already armed his mace in his left hand for such an occasion, and when the spear approached, Mathias smached the flat of the blade away with the back of hios gloved right hand, and brought his mace out for a horizontal swing. The heavy weapon slammed into the man's arm, snapping it thoroughky, before crushing into his chest and knocking him to the ground. The spear clattered to the floor as the man slid into the wall, and before the man could make a noise louder than a groun, Mathias brought the mace down onto his head, crushing the plate helmet and all with a sickening crunch. Giving a huff to the brief silence following the combat, Mathias quickly slipped his mace into the ring on his belt and tucked his pistol away. He rushed over to snatch up the first guard's halberd; if the rest of the men carried polearms, he would need to erqualize the reach difference. As he slinked into the chamber, he observed two branching hallways-- one to the left, and one to the right. He would have to choose one with no guarentee of being able to return and check the other. But that would have to wait-- he could hear voices down both halls. It was most likely more guards answering to the loud bang of Mathias' pistol. Quickly, he ducked behind the corner from which he had come, and readied a firestorm potion. The room itself was distant enough that he would be able to chuck the vial and duck around the corner, likely killing all the responding guards in one shot. Silent, he remained around the corner, lying in wait.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OoC: YOU ABANDONED LOVE FOR THE LONELY! YOU MST DAI!!!
BiC: The training of the Sheikah manifested in Karin’s mind as she crept through the shadows, making not a sound as she sidled up to the approaching guards. She didn’t know what had caused the noise, but she silently thanked whatever the source may be. It had given her just the opportunity she had needed. Before, the three guards had been in a position that had made it impossible for a stealthy approach; but now, with all three now lured towards her, they were as vulnerable as the insects squirming against the heel of her boot. Leaping from her hiding spot with such a leap that it seemed inhuman, she tackled the first guard, bringing her long-sword through the stomach of his cheap chainmail with ease. Instantly, she dropped to the ground, narrowly avoided the expected swipes of the others’ spears. Again her sword lashed out, digging into the second guard’s Achilles heel. He held his footing for only the briefest of seconds before tumbling to the ground, finding a thin knife through his throat before he could even begin to struggle. The third and final one stabbed at the ground frantically, trying to keep himself moving, keep himself away from the shadowy death that was befalling them. Each blow he thrust only moved farther and farther away from his intended target. The fight ended as Karin’s blade shot upward, stabbing him vertically from his waist to his shoulders. In a heap, he collapsed, crimson blood flooding in waves over the cold stone floor. The unharmed warrior suddenly stood up, lowering the blade of her sword to the ground in perhaps an overconfident display of victory. “Three down,” she whispered, resuming her battle stance as she prepared to fight off any remaining combatants.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OOC: xD Sorry about that. I got involved in other RPs and that one kinda got pushed aside. I eventually just forgot to keep checking it. ><
As he readied a potion in his palm, he heard a scrape of steel against chainmail, and turned his head around the corner in time to see the first guard fall dead. His immediate decision was to remain shrouded around the corner of his hallway and allow the fight to play out. Whoever was carving through the guards was no one Mathias wanted to dance with, if it could be avoided. When the groans of the dead were silent, he quietly slipped around the corner. The shadows were dark and the room was void of life. The assailant seemed to be of a stealthy nature, and Mathias knew he could be walking into a trap. Carefully, he moved toward the guards' bodies. He quietly set the spear down and knelt to inspect the carnage. His left hand rummaged through the corpses, but his right remained casually rested on his belt. The guards were cut down brutally; the blows were strong enough to cut through the chainmail like shears, and fast enough to cause very little brusing around the counts. The flesh was only cut, not torn: evidence of a powerful, fast strike. He sifted through the corpses, until noticing a set of keys on one of the mens' belts. He unbuckled the belt and slipped the keyring off, standing to his feet. Tucking the keys into his bag, he glanced around for the attacker. The fact that he could not see the individual made it clear that the person could see him. There were only two exits: the way he had come, and the way the attacker had come. No one had gotten past him, and there would be no reason to kill the guards if the attacker indended to backtrack. Mathias was sure the person was still in the room. But the person knew a thing or two about stealth, because Mathias saw no sign of him. His night-eye potion had just run out, and he considered drinking another to find the individual, but he decided it was better to remain unsighted than to make a sudden movement, creating the possibility for a misunderstanding of intent. If the individual wanted to, he could probably kill Mathias using the element of surprise, so Mathias wanted to make absolutely sure the attacker saw no unnecessary signs of aggression.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OOC:kk... I can post... just got finished doing otherthings...
Except for the fact that I have no clue where I should come in... Bic: Faite was In a corner of the room's roof, hanging there and trying not to make a sound, first he heard what we thought was thunder, and one of the guards below him was dead... just like that. Then the second one charged at the man with the strange weapon, again with the thunder, except that this time, the dead mans body kept moving. Faite witnessed the smooth actions of the strange fighter as he quickly finished off the second guard and took his spear. "Hmm..." Faite thought, "I wouldn't like to be on the recieving end of that mans blade... I should probably stay put." After the man had left, Faite then began descending from his corner, carefully, so as to not give himself away to the man's possition. Faite accidentally, bumped his axe against the side of the wall, causing a sound not unlike that of a weapon on chainmail armor. (I hope this is a good enough opening, as I had NO clue where to come in.)

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OOC Haha, well welcome to the RP anyway. And in reference to your Elder Scrolls reference earlier, I have played Morrowind and Oblivion to an extend that borders a crime against humanity. :3 Also, forgive the short post.
Hearing the noise behind him, Mathias quickly spun with pistol in hand to see where the sound had come from. When he saw the dwarf across the room, entering from the same entrace he had come from, he could only assume it was the same individual who had caused the stealthy carnage earlier. But a dwarf? And an axe, nonetheless? He just did not fit the profile of the assailant that killed the guards. The cuts in the armor were too fine to be the work of an axe. But if this dwarf was not the attacker, then where did he come from and why was he there? "You're no guard," he commented, keeping the firearm aimed at him, "and so you're no enemy of mine. But if I am your enemy, sir, then I should like to know."

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OoC: I DEMAND MAH CHARACTER BE LINKETHED TO...or something... This post is probably going to be embarassingly short.
BiC: The non-hostility of the mysterious fighter toward the dwarf was enough that she allowed her grip on her sword to slacken. She quickly rectified this. Allowing herself to become too comfortable around people often did not end well. Even as she approached the source of the words, she tensed back up, ready for another fight if need be. She tapped her blade lightly on the ground once to draw attention to herself, again, another amateur mistake that she wouldn't have thought twice about in most situations. "Friend or foe?" she asked in a voice hardly louder than a whisper.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OoC (crap... I haven't RP'ed in so long I actually FORGOT what my character has.)
ugg.... nothing much... I REALLY need to create a better profile for this character. BiC: "Damn!" Faite whispered, seeing the strange man quickly spin around, with something that resembled a gun. "Im not sure what that does, so I'm gonna play it safe." he thought to himself. "You're no guard," he commented, keeping the firearm aimed at Faite, "and so you're no enemy of mine. But if I am your enemy, sir, then I should like to know." Before Faite could answer, he heard a short tap, as if a blade... Faaite quickly spun towards the sound, pulling out his axe in one swift motion, to see a female standing there. Notcing that the man seemed as startled as he was, Faite could only assume that they were not partners. She mumbled something incoherant. Seeing no other waepons about her, he chose to answer carefully. "What was that?" Faite asked the female. "Friend or Foe?" she repeated. "Honestly? I have no clue, that depends on where your going, and what your doing." he replied to the female. To the male he replied. "I would hope to be your friend, If you would point that damned thing somewhere else!" Faite heard a noise, "Sounds like more guards, atleast three of them too." he said. since the other two had just fought, Faite decided to take these three on. He slipped into the shadows to the right of the door the expected guards would come through, and lied in wait. As soon as they emerged, the guards raised their weapons on the male and female. "So predictable." He said to the guards, causing one of them to faint right on the spot. "Wow... he was easy." The other two quickly turned on him. Faite jumped high, bringing one of his dragon boots into the first mans groin, and at the same time swiping at the second guard with his axe. This one's poleaxe was to large for such a quick move. Faite cut him off at the head. The second main was recovering from his "wound" as Faite's axe came down on the first one. The second one was weilding a sword, much better suited for the close range of the dwarves axe. Faite swung with an overhead arc, which got the expected counter attack, a swipe at the legs from the guard's blade , when he had dove to the side. Faite used the momentum of the axe to leap into a front flip aimed at the wall, bounced off, and headbutted the guard's face, snappping his neck. "So... I believe that one of you two had the floor?

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OOC: Lol, gimme a link to your char Calibur, and I'll put it in the post. There's no link in your sig. Also, forgive the short post-- I'm on my wife's computer and the keyboard is pretty messed up.
IC: Mathias grinned slightly at the dwarf, but when the noise sounded from the corner of the room, he quickly turned the firearm to it. As the woman came from the shadows, he narrowed his eyes to her words. "Friend. Is it safe to assume we are all dungeon-crawlers?" Before the answer could sound, the sound of guards emurging from behind Mathias caused him t swivel around, bearing the gun at the guard on point. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, the dwarf engaged , and he lifted the barrel away with a scowel. He kept the gun hefted in that direction, in case the dwarf fell. As the last guard fell dead, Mathias gave an impressed expression. He had seen carnage, but a man killed by a headbutt was a new sight. Glancing toward the woman, he let the pistol hang from his finger, before sliding it into his belt. "Mathias Blackharrow," he announced to the both of them, "if we are doing introductions."

OoC: http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...550-karin.html
I'll add it to my sig as well. BiC: The halfling seemed untouched by the dwarf's violent antics. If anything, she seemed to detest them. Even as a fighter herself, she had to shift to a different mindset just so she could get herself to take a life. "Karin Kokiri," she introduced, bowing slightly, "Double alliteration, I know. Please don't say anything."

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
"Karin Kokiri." Said the female, "I know, douple alliteration, please don't say anything."
"The name's Faite, just Faite." said the dwarf, while pulling out some rope to tie up the one guard who had fainted. "He might be good for some information later." Faite said, binding the guard's hands and feet, and tying them behind the guards back.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
After the list of names was taken care of, Mathias turned back toward the few guards he had slain, and picked up the spear he had claimed from them. "Tell me, Karin and Faite," he said giving each a nod as he said htair names, "what brings you to this dank little piece of paradise?"
As he spoke, he went from corpse to corpse, scouring for anything of use, generally finding nothing or very little. From one guard, he snagged a potion of unknown origin. He held it up to the light from one of the torches on the wall, examining it silently for a moment, before tucking it into his bag with a thoughtful sigh. As he picked through the pouch of another guard, he took a few coins, accidently smearing his hand in a bit of the dead man's blood. He wiped it on the corpse's shirt and stood, looking to the others that were there. He would leave the loot of the other guards to the ones who had killed them.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
Karin made no move to claim the loot from her kills. Instead, she sheathed her sword, appearing almost casual despite the bleak atmosphere and grim reality of the deaths she had committed. “Trans-dimensional anomaly,” she said quickly, hardly expecting the other two to understand exactly what that meant, “Happened two weeks ago when…” She hesitated, then skipped ahead. “It left me stranded in this universe.” Subconsciously, she interlocked her gloved fingers. “I’ve noticed I’ve begun to periodically fade, though, so I should get sent back to my own dimension within a few days. Until that time comes, I've just been trying to find things to do.”

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OoC: Blado Of healing can only be used to heal... which is why I've decided to call it trolls bane, it heals instantaniolsy, but it can't regenerate appendages.
Bic "Captured." Faite said, not bothering to explain further. "It took me weeks to find my armor, and another two days to find my weapons, right now, Im looking for a statuette, you haven't seen it have you?" Faite asked hopefully. Faite began rummaging through the enemies bodies he found. "sigh... not here either." He eyed the guard who was begening to stir, and shook him vigorously, to wake him up faster. "Where's my statuette? The one with the lions head, and the stags body? " "In the armory." spat the guard. "Liar!" Faite screamed, and pulled out the Blade of healing, unbeknownst to the guard. "Ill give you one last chance to tell me where my statuette is." "T-t-t-the guard captian has it!" the now frightened guard stuttered. "Thank you, now die scum!" Faite said, dropping his blade, and snapping the mans neck. Faite began to undo the knots in the ropes hee had used to bind the guard when he noticed something sticking out of the mans shirt. "Huh, whats this?" Faite wondered, It was a small coin, slightly blue, and looked as if it had some type of magical property, rummaging through the guards pockets, Faite found a letter. "To use the coin, simply mutter the name of the creature you wish to summon, and break the coin." the letter stated. "Well... Im glad this is the one that fainted then." Faite chuckled. "This should be useful later."

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
OoC: No... In my story (if anyone has actually read it, I drained it of its magical properties... and the coin is gonna do something bad, not good, just to make thing s a bit more interesting later one.) Although I DO like guen and all, hence why when I created this character I gave him the statuette, I won't be using the stag... I drained the statueete of all its magical properties, and now it is more of a keep sake, that if it's gone to long, Faite starts to worry... kind of like your mage's staff.

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
"Dimensional anomoly?" he questioned. "How did that occur?" Mathias didn't know much about things of that nature, but he had witnessed them before, and knew that usually nothing good came from it. His passage to Synexa some years earlier had been referred to as an anomoly, and althogh it did not have much to do with interdimensional travel, some others that he had met in Synexa had gone through that anomoly to arrive there.
"They took you captive?" he asked, turning to Faite." Why did they capture you? Just to loot your gear?"

Re: Nalludain Gauntlet (Anyone)
"It was caused by a being in our universe..." Karin suddenly seemed much more solemn, as though the memory were painful. Her left hand curled into a fist, emphasizing the triangular simbol that glew gold through her glove. "What she did...probably did more damage to the timestream than any of us yet know." She chuckled to herself. It was amazing how seriously she could talk about these kinds of things. Only a few months ago, if someone tried to tell her about time travel and anomalies, she probably would have taken it as a childish story.

"I'm not sure why they captured me... aside the fact that I'm one of the last of my clan." Faite said, shrugging off the question as he looked around the room. "and whats this about a "Transdimentiol monopoly?" " Faite asked, not even kind of following. He had been in an alternate dimension before, and this looked to be about the same, as he had no clue where they were.
