When Unlikely Encounters Arise (Darius Andreas)

OoC: Alrighty, this is the first Crossroads RP Darius and I have had in awhile besides the DesxAvi love affair. In this one, Desquode and Kenth will be used.

BiC: Kenth simply carried on, exploring the towns and places around him. It was tough for a dragon laguz to approach due to the fearsome appearance of the dragon form, however. Kenth often tried to stay untransformed unless he had to fight, but traveling on foot was nowhere near as easy as flying in dragon form. At times, he would approach a town and scare the townsfolk off by mistake with his red dragon appearance when transformed.

At this time of day, the red dragon was looking for a meal. Many streams and forests were around that could possibly have food in them, but Kenth was still concerned about scaring others away. He decided he was hungry enough to hunt down his lunch anyway and transformed into his red dragon form. He flew about around the water and trees, scanning for fish, wild boar, deer, fruits or vegetables, or anything else he would eat. Just as Kenth had spotted a delicious-looking buck in a forest clearing, he heard an unhappy-sounding moan nearby.

Thinking at first it was just some animal, Kenth continued quietly to pursue the male deer. When he heard the moaning again, but a little louder, he realized it was a person. Leaving his post by the deer, Kenth went to investigate and followed the moaning to a waterfall falling down a rocky cliff. A black-haired man was lying at the foot of the cliff with a severely bloodied up leg. His pants, which were made of feathers, had torn and were stained with blood. Guessing he was a bird-man, Kenth eyed him with interest, as the only bird people he knew were the bird laguz tribes from his home, the continent of Tellius.

Kenth watched for a minute or so before realizing the man was unable to get up due to the injured leg. Having a hard time trying to decide whether to help him, his choice was soon made for him when a pair of tigers lept out from some bushes nearby, probably thinking the man was a dead carcass. Kenth sprung into action, staying in dragon form, and flew high in the air. The tigers heard his large wings flapping and looked up to notice the strange red dragon flying above them. Instead of running, however, the animals simply growled, ready for a fight. Kenth landed with a thud between the two tigers and in front of the bird man. The bird man flinched as the appearance of Kenth startled him. The man tried to get away, but it was no use. His leg would not let him move far. Kenth turned to face him as a result.

"Don't worry, you do not need to fear me," he said. "I'm here to help you." The man shook his head, even more surprised now to find a talking dragon was offering to help. Kenth had meant what he said, though, and took a fighting stance. The tigers lept for him, but Kenth was too large for them to take down easily. Instead, they were swiped away into the bushes with a whip of Kenth's powerful tail and a slash of his claws. They had run off in fear as a result.

"Th-thank you...I think," the bird man replied, still surprised. Kenth turned back around and reverted to his human form again. Once more, the bird man shook his head in shock.

"I figured you'd be surprised. I'm a dragon laguz. We transform into dragons to fight," Kenth said. "Hey, how did you manage to do that to your leg?"

"Oh, I was up there on top of the waterfall when suddenly the wind had picked up and blew me over," the bird man explained. "Normally, I'd be gliding along with the wind current, but since it was so sudden, I couldn't respond in time and instead I fell down and my leg crashed into the rocks." Kenth made a scrunching face.

"Ooh. That had to hurt," he replied. "I can treat that for you with one of my vulneraries, which are healing medicines, but we'll have to go somewhere safer than here. There's too many predators and such around." The bird man nodded and Kenth once again switched to dragon form. He grabbed the bird man, who had introduced himself as Desquode, and put him on his back. The dragon laguz and bird man headed away from the woods.

OoC: Okay Dave, it's your job to get these two somewhere safe so Kenth can heal Des up. After that, anything can happen, really.
