NNR Harkonav [Anyone]

OOC: For those of us who want a good sci-fi RP, I thought this might be nice. I really hope a good amount of people hop onto this, because it could be a lot of fun.

Think of this as "sign-ups" for one ship. It's in the Crossroads so we can RP and everything while we get members. Then, when someone else makes a ship and gets some members, we can RP together here as friends, or in the Arena as enemies. I don't know about you folks, but ship-to-ship combat with several people sounds pretty awesome to me. :3

So, here we go! I'll start with the rules, of which there are three. Of course, the standard rules apply here too.

1.) No reference to Earth. You can be every bit as human as you'd like, just not from Earth. I want people to come up with their own stuff, and not overuse a standard post-modern sci-fi idea.
2.) Post-modern characters only. The character can be from a primitive culture, but he must still be post-modern. And for the record, time-travelers are a no-no.
3.) Try to post often! I hate it when good RPs die off because people post twice and disappear.

Now then! Onto the registration! The ship's profile can be found below.

NNR Harkonav
Quarters of Command:
Captain (Mathovun)
--MV Maru Harvuson (Tribunal Power)
Commander (Harothovun)

Intelligence Officer (Letrivun)

Science Officer (Nomnovun)

PM me if you have any questions! A lot of information can be found in both the Harkonav's and in Maru Harvuson's profile, so if you have a question about technology or backstory, take a peek there.

IC:

Sitting at the terminal in his quarters, Maru rubbed his forehead as he read over the review of the assault that took place nine days ago. “The Onerbarn, under the command of humans of an unknown world, was taken by my men with the use of extreme force. There were no hostile survivors.” It was the opening line of the report, written by his security officer before he succumbed to his wounds, received in that very battle.

Maru had spent the past hour trying to understand what had been done wrong. It was standard practice for him; review the log and vids of an attack to learn from any mistakes, either his or his enemy’s, that were made during the battle. But right now, he was stressed because he could not find one single flaw in the battle plan of his former security officer. The man was his friend, as were all his officers; it was no pain to him to believe that his death was no one’s fault. But he knew better than that, and he believed that the most common reason one receives bodily injury in battle is because of a mistake made on his own behalf.

So, weary and in need of a second opinion, he closed the vid down and looked over to his door. Finally, he stood and straightened his crimson and grey fatigues, before exiting his quarters and making for the bridge.

When he arrived, he asked loudly, “How near are we to port?”

“A few minutes, sir,” replied the man at the navigation terminal.

Maru sat at the helm of the ship, watching the holographic display of the space station at which they were docking. “Starbase coordinates 25335.59940.43932, this is Mathovun Maru Harvuson of the NNR Harkonav requesting permission to dock.”

As he spoke, the computer translated and broadcasted the speech in all available languages within the database. On different frequencies, it would allow the computer at the space station to find its native language, and broadcast it to the inhabitants of the station. Surprisingly, the reply came back in his own language-- Revnian Regulatory Conglomerate.

“NNR Harkonav, this is Starbase Col’Darvyl. We happen to be that chunk of metal floating in those coordinates, and we happen to have a dock open. Permission granted, in other words-- please go to dock five.”

“Thank you, Starbase Col’Darvyl. Harkonav out.” As the transmission terminated, Maru glanced down to his terminal. There was a message waiting for him from the Commission.

“Your request for the initiation of Crew Management Act has been granted. Proceed to refresh your crew at your earliest opportunity.”

With a smile, Maru deactivated the terminal and stood. “Take us in smooth and inform the men, under my authorization, that we have station leave until further notice. Due to our active status at the moment, anyone caught with their neural nodes deactivated at any time will be tried for desertion.”

After his order was affirmed, he moved off to prepare himself to enter the station. He knew there was someone here that could fill the spots needed on his ship, and he intended to find them personally. The beacon would, of course, be activated to show that the ship was hiring, but on a military vessel, no man entered the ship without the consent of the commanding officer.

So he wanted to bring them in himself.

Re: NNR Harkonav [Anyone]

OoC: Interesting, I'll check it out. Zyke's Bio is in my sig.

BiC: Zyke moved through the hallways like a wraith, fluidly, and silently. His comm unit buzzed, and he pulled it out. A general announcement. A ship in dock five was hiring. The Emerald Knight decided to investigate. Why would a ship, a large one, from the technical specs, land at this station? It was barely more than a fused mass of derelict ships with an O2 recycler. As he neared the dock, he slowed to a controlled pace, and approached what he assumed to be the commanding officer, and called out, keeping his voice neutral, "Excuse me sir, but the GA I just got said this ship was hiring. I was considering applying."
