In Character Thread v8: Revival

Welcome, one and all to the eighth and newly renewed In Character Thread! Since September of 2006, the In Character Thread (or, IC Thread) stands as a place for relaxed and spontaneous discussion between characters in different environments. Sometimes, RP’s and canonical friendships between characters bloom from this place, even stringing events between the different IC Threads themselves. So, we invite you (and your characters) to sit down, relax, have a drink, and enjoy the fun. Just don’t get too carried away, okay?

Speaking of, this brings us to the rules.

The IC Thread rules:

* Posts must be at least 15 -20 words long. Also, all posts must have at least two lines of text. Any post that isn’t this length will be deleted on sight.
* IM Speak is now allowed. However, if you wish to type in standard RP format, knock yourself out.
* Characters must be submitted to a mod, or myself with a link to their profile attached.
* Smilies are allowed so long as they do not negatively affect the post’s quality.
* You can only post once you have submitted your character/s.
* Out of Character is allowed as long as it is strictly pertaining to the IC Thread and kept short. It should be important, too, nothing like "I'm going to bed now." OoC does not count towards the word limit.
* You must talk in the perspective of your character.
* In order to be added to the list, please PM (Private message) one of The Escapists' Haven moderators.
* You can not change characters unless you PM a mod, or myself to update/change your character.
* You may only have a maximum of three characters present in the IC Thread.
* Do not mention "Your creator" in your posts. This is completely in character.
* Remember, this is a website for everyone, so keep the content acceptable.
* You may only post 20 - 30 times a day, at maximum.

IC Police:

These members of the council have taken it upon themselves to watch after the thread and make sure all posts follow these rules. Rule breaking posts will be reported to a BA moderator. Repeated failure to follow the rules will result in banishment from the IC Thread until a new one is made.

The Setting:

Nestled on an otherwise inaccessible coast sits a rather large and flamboyant inn. Many amenities greet the guests as they enter and observe the large and open reception room. It includes an ever-popular bar, movie theatre, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rooms for everyone, an expansive parking lot, a field and a long stretch of beach that is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Anything and everything you can think of is available at this pristine location for your pleasure.

Elea walks down to the beach, and sits down in the sand watching the waves. This water is different from the rivers and lakes I've been walking past. she notices a small tide pool near some dark, jagged rocks about four feet away from her, Hm? The union stands up, and dusts off the sand on her blue jeans before she goes to look at the collection of water, her sage green t-shirt flaps in the gentle breeze. Her gray jacket is tied loosely around her waist and swings with her stride. The sunlight shines brightly, with barely a cloud in the sky, behind her stands a large building, the front has wooden siding on it, but mostly is a stone-like exterior. The child spots some fish and unknown to her, an orange starfish. Cute.

Ralis:

I looked around and let out a sigh of boredom. Everything here was kind of boring, so oh so boring. I mean, the resort was awesome, seriously it was, but... it lacked people of interest, interesting people. I walked along the beach, skipping stones across the surface on the ocean water.

*The Petit looking girl found herself on the strange beach. She didn't exactly remember how she got there, or what she was doing there. But heyyy~ It was a nice day and she really had no other place to go, so she simply set up shop and sat down on the beach looking out at the majestic rolling waves*

*Is pleasently surprised to find a nice place to stay for the night as she pulls her old car into a parking spot around the inn* ... This sees so increadably farmiliar, but whatever. *Gets out of the car, slamming it shut before rounding to the front entrance to book a room for the night*

*Wanders through the forest, eventually coming to a rather steep cliffs suddenly, almost falling over the edge* Woah! That was too close! *Falls baclwards to avoid a certain death, looking out over the ocean* Nice view though. ^_^ *Looks down and sees the inn nestled on the beach below her* Well, that's convieniant. ^_^ *Carefully begins to desend the cliff face*

I yawned slightly and stared out at the waves with a slight smirk. "Hmm... I wonder," I mumbled to myself, holding out my hand towards the wave and swaying it about in the air, making the waves that were approaching me stop and rise into the air, making shapes and orbs of water nonchalantly.

*Looking to the right as she gazed upon the ocean she saw a strange sight, a man it seemed was controlling the water. Her eyes bugged out a little bit at the sight-a sight which should be impossible- with small tentitive steps the girl approached the man, and askeed in a still quiet almost afraid voice,*

H-how can....you do that?

I blinked and looked around at the voice, my concentration breaking and the water burst out of the orb form I had it in, falling back to the ocean. I blinked again, looking over at the girl who seemed to be disturbed or afraid of something. "Oh... it's a power I have," I said, sitting still.

*Books her room, surprised that the rates are so low, then grabs her bags and heads up the stairs* I'm surprised this places is so empty. It's a very nice inn... *Continues to her room, depositing her bags before leaving to explore the rest of the Inn*

*Almost slips a few dozen times on her way down, hands and feet aching from the pressure put on them by the weight of her body* Argh! I. Hate. CLIFFS! *Exclaimes as she reashes the half way point down the face, sighing when she looks down and sees*

*The girl looked at him closesly, her eyes pericing in interest trying to find some point of strength in the man's demanour. Walking towards the coean a little bit with her walking stick, she waited for the man to do it again,*

How do you do that?

Elea looks up from the tidal pool, and sees two other people to her left. Hm? She just caught a glimspe of the water orb for a second, but ignored it and walked back to the building and sits down in a chair near the entrance. Her sword was in her room, while she just looked around the building again. Why are people coming here?

I blinked at the girl again and looked back toward the water. "Oh... well, I just focus and I can normally control shadows but I can manipulate water and fire... depending on my mood," he said, trying to explain it best and slowly making the water levitate and amass into a floating orb again.

Depending on your mood? *She questioned stepping closer to the water orb, and using her walking staff to poke it lightly* That's cool, I wish I could do something like that. *She finished still entranced by the orb,* Oh sorry, I'm Rukmini, what's your name?

Donik strolled onto the beach, without the company of his gun, Cargo Cloak, or the weapons usually housed within them--only with his staff, that was slung over his shoulder and back with a long leather rope, moccasin covered feet, and his relatively spartan white cotton shirt and pants.

He had never taken the usual leave of absence given to "employees" of the Merc organization, but, for whatever reason, he had decided to take a brief respite at a beach-side resort.

Using The Dome's technology, he had traveled to his destination--upon recommendation from one of the paintings on the ever-morphing walls.

Donik scanned the area, old habits still not fading with the relative lack of danger, and noticed three others. A man seeming to use a water affinity for the sake of it, a girl staring and talking to him in disbelief and awe, and another girl sitting next to a tidal pool, looking at the other two.

Donik, deciding to be atypically cordial, gave a brief greeting to the three.

"Hello, there."

I nodded to the girl, Rukmini. "Oh.. yeah, my emotions control which power I can use at the moment... and I'm Ralis, by the way," I said, then looked over at the newcomer that approached me and her. "Uh... hi," I said to him.

*She looks back at the water and shrugs turning back towards Ralis* Must be hard to use your powers when they are controlled like that, Nice to meet you *She hears the third voice and turns to great him* Oh, umm...Hi, I'm Rukmini,.

*She walks around, finding all the amenities in this place rather disturbing and familliar. Nonetheless, she heads over to the bar to get herself a drink* Meh, I'll have some soda please. *Takes her rink with her to a nearby table and sits down to drink it, bored and alone in the inn*

*As she nears the bottom of the cliff, she slips on a rock and tumbles the remaining ten feet to the gorund* Ahhh! Ooof! *Falls onto her back, knocking the wind out of her* @_@

Donik let out a friendly smirk and a nod in response to the two's answers, and walked closer to them, being curious about the water user.

He greeted the two of them again, saying, "My name's Donik--nice to meet you," but then focused in on Ralis, indulging himself in newfound knowledge.

"I happened to overhear your explanation from before, talking with Rukmini. So, what are you, exactly? A universal elemental, or something like that?"

*Rukmini smiled as the man walked past her igoring her almost completely, thinking to herself* I think I was just shunned* The sounds of a resounding thus reached the young girls ears, turning towards the cliff she catchs sight of a women sprawled out on the ground* Oh *Runs over to the women* Hey are you alrght?

I blinked and looked at the newcomer curiously. "I'm... a person and no, I don't really use water that much, it's kinda rare when I'm allowed too..." I explained again.

I blinked again, seeing yet another girl on the ground, seemingly hurt and lying limp on the ground, with Rukmini heading over. I sprung to my feet and rushed over too, wondering what just happened. Things happen so fast!
