Who's there? (CourageWielder)

OoC: All right, this'll be the first battle I've started in a long time, so tell me if it's not good enough, or whatever. Let's see what I can do!

BiC: Late at night, Reizin wandered the small town of Aiken, seeking out a "disturbance" in the prana surrounding the area. The higher ups said "Eliminate it", and who was he, a Corporal, to argue? He had finally gained some respect in the organization, and wasn't about to lose it over something like arguing orders.

So, here he was, in the dead of night, in a darkness so complete he was tempted to draw one of his swords to use as a torch, looking for a nameless "disturbance". Why couldn't they at least tell me what I was up against? Since they were so nice as to tell me to get rid of whatever it is, and all... he lamented, pulling his helmet off to take a rest.

The breeze caught his hair, cooling his scalp and refreshing him. After a few minutes of leaning on a tree pondering where to search next, Reizin donned his helmet again and set to searching again. It wasn't long before he decided on a building worthy of going inside. The largest factory in town, a building that was monolithic by comparison with the rest of the humble polis. With a few quick movements, Reizin quietly tore the back door from it's hinges, and slipped inside.

The inside contained an assembly line, made to quickly create masses of... something, Reizin couldn't see without a light. Something just seemed... off about this place. He continued to search, weaving in between conveyor belts and the like aimlessly, trying to discern what felt so wrong about this factory that it drew him in the first place. He couldn't, however, and reluctantly turned to go after a few minutes of searching.

"Just where do you think you're going?" A voice from the shadows thundered.

OoC: Can you work with that?

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

OoC: Yeah, I'll be able to. ^_^

BiC: The dark figure crept along in the darkened building, waiting for his unspoken enemy. The night air was so refreshing, and the slight breeze blowing through the abandoned factory cought his attention, the Dark Angel jumping up and soaring to a small lookout spot on one of the small boilers.

For a while, nothing happened, until a door was ripped off of its hinge, the sound revibrating into the metal of the walls and the rafters. Ahiga looked down, and spotted the young human, who couldn't look more than seventeen, eighteen at most.

For quite a while, the Dark Angel watched the young teen wander around the factory, searching around conveyor belts, boilers, and the like. Not once though, did he ever look up, to the top of the boiler of which he was looking.

When he turned to leave, Ahiga jumped down without a sound, and his voice echoed throughout the chamber, "Just where do you think you're going?"

OoC: Sorry its so short. I had to get somewhere.

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

OoC: That's plenty, for now. At least you didn't cut off in the middle and not reach the point I did. Onward to posting!

BiC: "Wh-who's there?" Reizin nervously called, startled. Gah! What am I losing my nerve for? This is what I WANTED to happen, right? "Show yourself!" The teenager commanded, regaining control. However, the darkness became as silent as before. Pacing around, looking side to side frantically, Reizin tried to trace the voice. Frustrated, the youth poured some of his Od into his armor, forcing it to activate. A grin reached his face when it flared brightly, lighting most of the factory like a beacon.

Red eyes. The first thought to reach his brain. Those eyes are so creepy! He thought, but at least I seem to have found my disturbance. All right creature, prepare for battle! His eyes took in the rest of the figure now, from his long black hair to the black combat boots on his feet. He's so... pale... but, he still kind of looks human. "Ah, uh, uhm..."

The figure drew a sword, taking a step towards the twin-blader. "WAIT! Stay back!" Reizin yelled, taking a step backward. The dark one continued to advance, and Reizin took each of his steps forwards as an excuse for retreat.

CLANG!

The sound of Reizin's armor colliding with the metal wheel of a conveyor belt meant only one thing to the boy, he couldn't back up anymore. The mysterious pale man had no such hinderance, however, and continued to advance, no closing the distance between the two fighters. Nervously, Reizin stuttered and gaped, fear apparent in his eyes as the the figure came closer. When the distance was only a few feet, the man with crimson eyes raised his sword...

... What am I doing?

Reizin straightened, his hands reflexively flying to his swords. He drew both at once, releasing his normal combat Od into the weapons and increasing the flow to his armor to that of combat level. The twin swords blazed into action, flaming brightly, and the armor, previously giving off a strong glow, now flared with bright red fire.

Should I have said something like "Flame on!"?

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

As Ahiga advanced towards the youth, he caught a small glimpse of his thoughts. "So, your name is Reizin, huh?" The Dark Angel brought his sword down, only for it to be blocked by the youth, his armor and twin blades sparking to life with fire.

The warrior chuckled at the boy's last thought, his sword still in hand. Ahiga jumped out of the way as Reizin charged him, slashing with one blade. The Dark Angel blocked a few more basic attacks, then unfurled his ash colored wings, leaping into the air and floating gracefully in place, staring down at the youth.

A small ball of dark energy appeared in the warrior's hand, aimed at the youth. It shot down at him, but swerved at the last second, exploding on the ground a couple of inches away.

"Do you really want to fight me," Ahiga taunted, still floating in the air. Why is he attacking me in the first place? I just came here for a moments peace from that wretch, Selsimir.

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

"It's not a matter of whether or not I want to." Reizin said, his face stolid. Heavenflame's fiery cloak swirled densely around the sword, then blasted outward in a flaming beam. Phoenix Blast!

Ahiga flapped a wing and easily evaded the thin ray, but then Reizin leaped from the ground straight for him, spinning to bring the Hellfire, then the Heavenflame down upon Ahiga. The dark angel was too fast, though, and narrowly avoided the twirling knight. Reizin rebounded off of a wall though, and came flying at Ahiga with his swords crossed at his chest, ready to slice outward and rend the dark one in twain. Ahiga parried the swords by placing his own blade in between them in a lock, and turning Reizin's momentum into a quick plummet, leaving the youth cursing as he roughly caught himself upon the stone floor.

Reizin sheathed the Hellfire. Time to even the playing field a little. The glow being emitted by the Salamander armor winked out, and the red plates became dull. "Essence of Inferno: The Phoenix!" Reizin roared, jumping into the air. Flames swirled around him, hiding his figure momentarily. Then, the giant ball of fire cracked open to form large flaming wings on Reizin's back. His sword, the Heavenflame, glowed golden and shone brilliantly with stark white fire swirling around the blade. Taking the blade with both arms, he readied for a charge. Let's see how he does when we're both flying!

OoC: I hope that gives you more to work with. I felt better today, and though I owed you a bit more of a post, though I suppose it's still short. I don't really know how Ahiga would fight, he seems proficient with his sword but as far as magic I don't really understand his system.

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

OoC: Sorry about the system. I had been meaning to add in some of the powers, but had forgotten to until I'd posted him.

BiC:

Ahiga watched with interest as the slightly older mage's armor winked out, smirking at him putting away the blade named Hellfire.

"Essence of Inferno: The Pheonix!" The fire innate shouted, flames beginning to surround him as he leapt into the air. Ahiga had seen many fired based moves, but one where a person floated off of fire wings was new.

The sword that Reizin carried in his hand had begun to glow a golden white, the wings on his back around the same color. The youth looked to the newly winged person, and smirked.

"Well, if you wanted to know how I can deal with another person who flies," he began, his owns sword's hilt glowing a soft grey, "then walk in my shoes for a day, and fight the other me." Ahiga then flapped his wings foward, producing a strong gust of wind that blew both of the boys back, the Dark Angel landing gracefully on top of the small boiler.

The sword's hilt began to pulsate a little faster, showing the adrenaline pumping through the Angel's system. If it's a fight this boy wants, it's a fight this boy's going to get.

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

"Well, if you wanted to know how I can deal with another person who flies," the dark angel started, "then walk in my shoes for a day, and fight the other me."

Other him? And they fight? Then which one is the "Disturbance"? Reizin pondered for a second, but Ahiga took this as ample opportunity, and leaped from the boiler he was upon, bringing a fierce horizontal swing Reizin's way. The flaming warrior parried the blow with difficulty, coming in with his firebrand to slice at Ahiga, who turned the strike away with a grunt. The assault sped up, both fighters in perfect form, suspended in the air, the clang of steel and the grunts of effort the only soundtrack for the dark factory, illuminated only by Reizin's glow.

Frustrated with the fight not going anywhere, Reizin took hold of his sword with both hands, slashing it vertically at Ahiga and releasing a torrent of fire, forcing the dark angel to retreat.

"Other you, you said." Reizin began, "Who is this other? I could be fighting the wrong one of you."

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

Ahiga grunted from the strike he'd just received from Heavenflame. They began to speed up, the clanging of the swords making perfect harmony. Reizin decided to force him back with a tail of fire from the blade, which worked.

"Other you, you said." The boy must've been curious to ask, and especially brave, since he could show up again at any time. "Who is the other? I could be fighting the wrong one of you."

Ahiga scowled, indicating that the boy should have just stayed away from the factory in the first place, but the past was the past. "The other me. He's really just an Angel in Light, but he's not the good one." The Dark Angel had noted that he'd gotten the youth's attention, and continued, not looking at him. "Selsimir Kard. He's been trying to eliminate me for centuries. He kills without a second thought to his actions, and he's stronger than you."

The young man stayed, floating in place, the light breeze from the wind of the wings making his bangs and hair blow about lazily, then settle back down on his chest and back. "If he comes, we're both in for the fight of our lives." Looking at Reizin's expression, Ahiga said not another word, as he perched himself back on the boiler, looking like a cat about to pounce, but only with wings. He looked like his defense was down, and it was, but everything about him could change just like that, so he kept himself prepared, just in case the other winged youth decided to attack again.

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

His interests piqued, Reizin responded. "To be honest, regardless of my assignment, that's the one of you I'd rather fight. It's probably who I was assigned to fight, anyway. What say you and I look for him together? Perhaps two on one we can bring him down."

At this, Ahiga laughed. "Just like that you're ready to do a complete about-face?"

"This fight was going nowhere fast, anyway." Reizin chuckled, "Though I've more ticks up my sleeve. You claim this Selsimir is stronger than me? Why don't we test that?"

Reizin landed on a stationary conveyor belt, sheathing his sword. Immediately, all light in the factory winked out, and both warriors were blinded. Reizin scratched his head, "Whoops, forgot I was the only light in here." The salamander armor began to give off a red glow again, increasing until Reizin could make out Ahiga's figure atop the boiler.

"Well, what do you say, mister Dark Angel?"

OoC: Maybe this is better, perhaps a plot twist will lengthen our posts.

Re: Who's there? (CourageWielder)

OoC: It just might. I'll try to make this as long as my imagiantion will let me.

BiC:

Ahiga looked at the kid who landed on the conveyor belt, and nodded. "He is stronger than you, by far. Almost killed me twice." The light of the blade that Reizin was carrying winked out, but Ahiga didn't care. He could see pretty well in the dark, as it was.

A small light started up again, until it was bright enough to illuminate most of the factory. The youth on the belt looked up at the Dark Angel, and asked kind of politely, "Well, what do you say, mister Dark Angel?"

The black winged youth jumped down, and floated glacefully to the concrete floor, right beside a small crack with a few bright green flowers poking out. A bright flash illuminated the room, and in the Dark Angel's place stood the form of his other side, Akane. "Well, to let my powers revive themselves, I'll go on ahead and let Akane lead you to a spot notorious for attracting Selsimir." With a laugh, the silver haired teen stood erect, looking at Reizin.

"Are we going to go or not? Selsimir is tracking us down as we speak, and is known to take a stop at one of the older motels a few miles down the road." Akane looked up at the small hole in the roof, and saw that it was a cloudless night, perfect for flight.

Don't try it. I don't know what'll happen to you if you use that just yet. Save it for Selsimir. The boy winced, still not used to the spirit talking to him, and looked back down and over to the older Reizin, his silver eyes glowing in both the moonlight and the fiery glow of the salamander armor.
