Nikudemon now tired from walking and fight all the strange people he has met in the past. He finds himself resting in a forest to get away from all that. Why can’t I get always from all those crazy people? I don’t remember me being so active in fighting before. Well this place looks nice. The swordsmen now laying on the tall grass and is look at the little sunlight that coming through the trees. I should go and get me some food to eat before night falls.
The swordsmen jump up and started to the pond that he seen. He walked through the nicely uninhabited forest that looks like no one has been in for years. He reaches the pond that has clean clear blue water in it. The swordsmen kneeled down to take a look in the water and see if there was some fish in it.
Umm there are no fish and no life form that I can see. I think I’ll take a swim. It’s a good day to take a swim. The swordsmen took off he sword and jump into to the water. He started to swim to release some energy that he had. Then he started to float on he’s back and look up at the sky. So what to do after I stop resting? The swordsman is now sleeping on top of the water thinking about the past and the future.
OoC: Kinda short, but at least I did what I set out to do. ^.^
Gloria was flying through the forest acting like her usual happy self, when suddenly she saw a sleeping man floating on the water.
“It’s not safe to sleep on the water! He could drown for all I know!” She spiraled down toward the sleeping man. When she reached him she found that he was serenely floating without showing any signs of drowning. Still, she grabbed him by his shoulders and started to drag him toward the edge of the pond.
As she reached the edge, the young man started to stir. “Ugh. Who are you?” the young man asked.
“I’m just a concerned citizen,” Gloria said with a bright smile. “But if you must know, my name is Gloria. Who might you be?”
“Nikudemon,” He said. As she looked at him, Gloria could see him clearly despite the fact he lay there soaking wet. He was around 18 year of age and seemed much like a fighter. His clothes were weary with travel and he seemed as though he’d faced more than enough battles as of late.
“Nice to meet you Nikudemon! Also, please don’t sleep on the water like that! It’s not safe…..” Gloria shook her head violently.
“Thanks, I guess.” Nikudemon looked at her awkwardly. “Do you happen to know where my sword is?”
“Oh, I think it’s over there. I’ll get it for you.” Gloria happily said. She flew over to his weapon and picked it up. His sword was beautifully crafted and she admired it. “I do love this sword of yours. Quite beautiful if I may say so.” She handed it to him.
“Thank you.” He took it and put it back on.
“Well, it’s nice meeting you, but I need to be on my way.” Gloria said. “Just between us, I’m on a treasure hunt!”
“Treasure?” Obviously, by Nikudemon’s response and expression, that he was intrigued by the mere fact she was looking for treasure.
“Yes! It’s wonderful! AND it lies deep within this very forest!” Gloria was gleaming with happiness. “I can’t wait. Would you like to come with me?”
“Hmm…. I think that would be good. I don’t have much else going on right now….” Nikudemon told Gloria.
“So… are you coming with me?” Gloria gave him a meek smile. Even though they were complete strangers a moment ago, she could use some help on her quest.
“Sure. It wouldn’t be right if I left a women like you by yourself in the middle of the forest.” Nikudemon explained.
“Thank you very much. You are the perfect gentleman! Besides, who knows what kind of things I’m going to encounter.” She exclaimed. “We’re off! We have to go north…. I think. That way!” Gloria pointed off into the distance.
“Okay.” Nikudemon nodded. Gloria could tell that Nikudemon was a man of few words, but still she felt safer with him around.
They started to walk into the thick bush of trees and Gloria couldn’t wait until they found the treasure. After all, it’s not everyday that one finds a magic leaf like the one they were looking for. The magic leaf would prove to be quite a handful.
They walked until nightfall started to come around. “We should start to make camp,” Nikudemon said as he looks around for a good place to rest. “Over there should be a good place but first we need to find some stuff first,” Niku said as he started to look around for some wood to build shelter. “Gloria, can you find a big leaf that I can use as a roof,” The swordsmen said as he pick up some rock that was around.
“Yep, yep, I can do that I’ll be right back,” Gloria said as she flew off to look for a big leaf.
Niku paled up the rock in a circle down on the ground. Then he walk up to a tree and started climbing up the branches. He found the prefect branch to use for firer wood and cut it down. Good I can use this for firer wood and building material. He cut some of the wood and put it into the ring of rocks he made. Then he started a firer by rubbing two sticks together.
After he started the firer he took his shirt off and put it over the firer. Then he started to build the shelter to sleep in. He was almost done when Gloria came flying back with the leaf and a wolf after her. She a little too much trouble for me to handle. “Gloria put the left over the shelter that I build I take care of the wolf so we can eat.”
“Okay, I do It right away,” Gloria said as she flew pass Niku. As she was about to put the leaf over the shelter place a gust of wind came and blow the leaf into the firer. Niku start to carry back the wolf for food when he sees Gloria looking at the firer like something was wrong.
“What wrong? What happen?” Niku said as he drops the die wolf next to the firer.
“The leaf that I drop when into the firer but I’ll go get another one,” Goy said. Then she was about to fly off when Niku grab her arm.
“Then Okay, I don’t think it’s going to rain. Sit down and rest I’ll get the food done. Okay?” Niku cave up the food and put in on stick at let it start to cook. Then he sat by the firer to dry off for the swim he took. “So, Gloria what are we looking for anyway.”
As, they sat by the fire Gloria was in deep thought. Niku asked her what they were looking for and she was unsure whether to answer truthfully. After a few moments Niku asked her if she had heard him. “Aye, I did…..”
“So?” Niku asked anxiously.
“Well, it’s rather hard to describe….. To put it simply it is a leaf…. But not an ordinary leaf! It’s a leaf of great power. A Deity once possessed it long ago. I have heard about it before and when I finally found out where its location was. That’s why I’m here to find it.” Gloria looked deep into the fire with a longing face.
“Oh…” Niku said sounding a tad bit disappointed.
“Trust me; it’s better than it sounds! The powers it wields are mysterious, but I’ve heard rumors of the marvelous things it can do!” Gloria was brimming with excitement now.
“If you say so….” Niku still seemed rather disappointed, but Gloria didn’t mind. She was focused on finding it. It would give her many powers of the forest, but still…. She wanted Niku to feel like he was getting something out of this.
“You know, they say that there is other treasure along with the leaf.” Gloria said turning her head to face Niku.
“Really?” Niku’s face lit up a bit as he lifted his head from staring at the fire.
“Yes! Absolutely! I mean, the place where it’s said to be kept has so many wondrous nooks and crannies!” Gloria gleamed.
Niku sat there, seeming to be thinking. Gloria smiled, knowing that now he would be intrigued to continue on this quest. Gloria stood up and turned to face Niku. “I think I’ll be turning in now. We have a long journey ahead of us.”
“Alright. Good night.” Niku told her. She could tell that he was a good companion on this journey. She didn’t want to face the dangers alone. She went in their makeshift shelter and curled up.
She was exhausted and knew she would fall asleep the instant she put her head down. With the forest around her she felt at peace. Her wings enveloped her and her eyes gently shut themselves. She fell into a deep sleep as the noises of the forest rang around her.
The swordsman sat next to the fire looking into the flames. Watching them as each one disappear and a new one took it place. As he sat there he grab his sword and unsheathed from the sheath. He Look at it and watch it very carefully as if he was trying to find something on his sword. What am I doing in this world I don’t belong here do I pendent. Wait, I thing I know it’s not that I don’t belong here it that you don’t belong here. Some day I will find out where you came from and send you back there. Right now lets enjoy the pace and quiet here.
The swordsman turned over to look at the female pixie and see the she was sleep. She lying about something right sword. No one can be so happy and blindly follow what they are told without having something that they are lying about. We’ll just stand by her and watch her to see if we can find out what she is lying about. Wait, What am I thinking I can’t do that why would I even think that.
The swordsman turned around and looked back at his sword. He laid the sword on the ground then he took off his pendent and laid it next to the sword. Why father? Why do I have a pendent that can change my into a demon and a sword that holds in back. I wonder what can this pendent do if I did not have this sword? I know that it was strong enough to kill my whole village. I need to find some clue of when this pendent came from and what magic can brake this sword’s curse.
The swordsman looks back at the pixie sleeping peacefully in the shelter that he made. First thing first I need to help her find that leaf. Then I have to find my friend Tsukineko so he can help me find out about this pendent. I might need that dumb fencer help to. I hope when I find them they are strong enough to help because I have a bad feeling about what I might find. Well, the morning sun is about come up I should get some sleep.
The swordsman fell asleep seating up next to the firer with his sword in his hand. The swordsman pendent was still place next to the firer. As morning came, the firer die down and the sun came up. The swordsman sat there next to the firer like he normal does in his defend sleep ready to attack anything that wakes him up.
Gloria yawned and sat up. She rubbed her eyes and saw that Niku was asleep in a very awkward position. "I should wake him up now..."
She lifted herself up and walked over to the sleeping swordsman. "Ehem.... WAKE UP!" Gloria screamed in his ear. “Sorry for the rude awakening”, Gloria said as Niku woke up startled, “But you see, we need to get going.”
“Yeah…” Niku shook his head and rubbed his eyes, clenching his jaw so his ears would pop.
Gloria took Niku’s arm and lifted him up with all her might. “Phew… Well, we’d better get to the holding place of the leaf.”
She gathered her stuff and within minutes was itching to go. As soon as Niku was ready they were on their way. They walked in silence for what seemed like forever and Gloria wasn’t sure what she should do. It’s not like they had much in common either.
Gloria flapped her wings and took flight. “I’ll see if the place is visible from up in the air.” Niku nodded and Gloria rose above the tree tops. She looked in all the direction and found that several trees created a dome shaped building. “That must be it!”
She flew down and landed beside Niku. “Did you see it?” He asked.
“Well… I’m not sure, but it sure does look like it. If we make a turn here and keep gong we’ll be sure to reach it by sunset.”
“Alright.” Niku briefly said and resumed walking at his pace.
Gloria was so excited she dashed ahead. “Hurry up Nikudemon!”
Within hours, the dome she’d seen earlier was in view. She pointed and exclaimed, “That’s it! It must be!”
“Wow. It’s huge.” Niku said looking up at the giant dome. With each step they took the tree building seemed to grow in height.
When they finally reached the entrance, the dome was looming over them like a huge tower. The trees intertwined in a way so that the structure had plenty of support, but still grew to the length it was capable of. The entrance to this monstrosity was a mere crawl space just big enough for them to enter.
“I’ll go first!” Gloria said brightly. She folded her wings and kept them close to her body. She then quickly dove straight into the hole. She scuttled through and emerged in a huge room. The entire building composed this one room. It was completely bare, except an immense hole in the center of the building floor. Gloria unfolded her wings and without even blinking flew toward it, not even bothering to wait for Niku.
“Wow.” Peering down into the hole was like looking into pure darkness. “Only one way to go… Right Nikudemon?”
“Let’s go in.” Niku said after he had caught up with her.
The swordsman walked over to the floor and bent down. He seen pure darkness and knew that nothing good would come out of going down there. Nikudemon got back up and walk over to a rock. The butterfly human seen this an asked, “What wrong mister swordsman?”
“Nothing I just want to see how deep it is,” the swordsman replied, as he picked up a small rock.
“But how is that going to help you find out how deep it is?” the pixie asked, when she flew over to the swordsman and looked at the small rock. “I think me flying down there would be better then that rock,” the butter fly woman mutter, then she when and flew towards the hole.
“Wait! Don’t go fly into places you don’t know about!” the cured man Yelled, as he went and grab the pixie wing. “Hold on, don’t go rushing everything. Really do you want to die or something? First thing stop being happy about everything. Second thing don’t go through your life away when a rock can find out if it self or not. Really, stop being so self-sacrificing all the time,” the swordsman utter out of anger.
“OOOOUCH! Let go of my wing already! Really what kind of man are you?” the pixie asked, as the swordsman let go of her wing.
“Sorry, I did not know that if I touch your wing it would her. But it’s better then having you fly down there,” the cursed human replied, then he threw the rock into the whole. “Now listen.”
“Listen to what?” the pixie said, as she looked down into the whole.
“That my point you can’t hear anything can you. That because this is a bottomless pit we have to find other way. Luckily I think I know how we are going to keep move on. Do you see that wall over there it a different color but that by much. We have to brake down that wall or cut it down,” The swordsman replied, then walked over to the wall and cut the wall into a shape of a door.
“But the wall is still there,” the pixie muttered, as she flew over there. The swordsman then kicked the wall in to show the true path.
OoC: That was FAR from what I had planned... But I guess I'm going to have to make it work... I think I know how to fix it. You see, I PLANNED to go through the hole and have us travel underground... But I guess we'll find another way below ground. Also, you were a bit off on Gloria's personality... I think we should discuss this on AIM later...
BiC: Gloria gave Niku a big pout and flew ahead of him. "Geez... That swordsman thinks he knows everything doesn't he? My plan would have worked... And EXCUSE me for trying to brighten things up... What did I ever do to him?"
Gloria walked trying to ignore Niku to the best of her ability. He'd really pissed her off and her wing still hurt a bit. She was having second thoughts about traveling with him.
The pathway they traveled was dark and unlike the rest of the forest. It was dark and showed no signs of life. Gloria fluttered up through the trees without speaking a word to Niku. She was about to fly straight up into the air when her head met up with something completely solid.
She started to spiral downward, but managed to grab onto a tree branch before completely losing control. "Argh... What the heck was that?" She flew up slowly and with care so as not to crash again. She stopped rubbing her head and felt for the barrier she'd not noticed earlier.
Her hand met up with a hard and flat surface. She looked up and saw that the surface had no color. It was visible, but it wasn't any actual color. "What IS this?"
Gloria dived down and landed directly in front of Niku. "Hmph... This place is either a trap for those not brave enough to enter the hole, or the container of the leaf... If it's the container, sadly, it seems like a death sentence. This place is completely isolated from the actual forest. I'm not exactly sure how anything even survives or grows, for that matter. The plants get no sunlight and no water... This is an oddity... Let's just keep going..."
Gloria had definitely toned down her happiness level and could tell that Niku was going to regret asking her to. If she isn't happy, she isn't much.
They pressed on through the forest and Gloria kept her tone set on indifferent and made as little conversation as possible. They traveled further into the silent forest and within time reached a stair case. This further made the place odd and distant. The stair case lead no where. It traveled beneath the ground and they followed it, but the stairs met a solid stone wall that no sword could cut.
"What now?" Gloria asked Niku. If he thought he knew this forest better than she did, he was sorely mistaken.
"Hmm... I'm not sure. We've reached a dead end." Quite literally, they had. There were no more trees. Just the odd wall that covered the sky stretched the length of the sides.
"Run Your sword along the edges of the stone wall." Gloria ordered Niku. He did as she commanded and the edges started to emmit a white glow.
The wall began to crumble and behind it a long and narrow pathway resided. "There we go. Now that makes more sense." Gloria walked into the pathway and as soon as she did her doubts of the leaf being here grew. A rumble rang through the tunnel. She turned back and say the entrance cave in. "Damn!" Now they really only had one way to go.
"Let's hope the leaf is here. If it isn't and you've doomed me, you can expect death as well." Gloria said ominously.
Nikudemon and the pixie walked through the dark narrow pathway. The path way was darker then the color black. As they walked deep down the path the cooler it got. The swordsman body started to shiver allover him. He walked by touching the walls of the path hopping to find away out of this place the pixie got him into. As he walked down the hall he start to think this was the end of his life. He has visions of he’s friend that he meet before coming here. First he saw the male Neko that come to know as Tsukineko. He remembered seeing the Neko stop another one that’s called Celia from killing him.
Then another flash came to him and he seen a man in green. The swordsman heart started to pump faster at the sight of this man. He started to breath harder but not as if he was afraid of this man but brought him intense joy. The smile that came across his face was one not to forget. Then he felt weight on top of him but he was standing or so he though. The swordsman opened his eyes to the pixie hitting him in the gut. “Ok I’m awake! I didn’t know I fell asleep but was a good nap.” the swordsman got up of the ground and started walking again not knowing what’s at the end.
Gloria walked down the dim pathway barely being able to see her arm swinging in front of her. Her mouth was in a big pout, upset that Niku had been lazy enough to fall asleep on such an important mission. That leaf meant a lot to her, and of course she would never allow Niku's sleepiness to keep her from her goal. "Hurry up! It's getting lighter!" Gloria's attitude had done a three sixty. She shook her head nervously and her mouth opened wide in a huge smile.
She ran ahead, leaving Niku a couple of feet behind her. The transition between the passageway and the opening was anything but subtle. A rush of light came almost as if out of no where. "Wow.." Was all Goy could say. It was another room of gargantuan proportions. There was a single tree in the center. It expanded across the entire room and rose far above what the average eye could see.
"Wow is a good word for it," Niku said entering the room behind her. "Is the leaf here?"
"Your guess is as good as mine." Gloria said lifting herself up to the looming root protruding from the tree in front of her. "Come on."
"Yeah, yeah, I can't fly though."
"Well, then, I'll wait." She sat down on the tree's root and looked up at the tree. There were thousands of leaves the size of a full grown human on this tree. None were of the magical sorts though. "Sigh... This could take a while."
In a couple of minutes, Niku had finished climbing the root and had reached Goy. "Finally, I was starting to get tired of waiting," Gloria jumped up and continued on, "I'm sensing some magical power at the top of the tree... Are you up for a climb?"
The swordsman looked up the tree and back to Gloria. "Do I have a choice?"
"Well, not really."
OoC: Meh... There's one thing I've caught up with. Sorry for taking forever and it being so short...
The two claimed the tree of a little while when finally Gloria reached the top. Nikudemon soon reached it after her. Both stood in shock at what they saw. A stone pillar the stood as tall as the young swordsman was at the highest point. It had what appears to be ancient writing engraved on it. The Pixie moved closer to the rock and tried to read what it said.
"I can see to read this... and we were so close too. I just know it." Glorai flew back to Nikudemon with a disappointed look. She looked at the swordsman and watched him walk closer to the rock. "It's no use I can't read it. Let's go back ok."
Nikudemon put his hand out and touched the cold rock. He moved his hand a long the word carved in the stone. "I can read."
"I can read what with read says. It's written in ancient demon writing."
"So, come on, what does it say?"
"The one who has made it this far should go back. Evil is the only thing that awaits the one seeking the leaf. Death is the only thing that will come out of going any farther. For those smart enough and brave enough great things await you at the end."
"Wait first it say Death awaits us then great things? Are you reading that right?"
"Yeah. I'm not sure what it talking about but I think there is a way to get the leaf and come out of it a live. Let me finish there is more. Only the lord of all demons has ever made it through alive by himself. No one has... I can't make out the rest but I sure it not good."
"So how do we go on?"
The tree started to fall down it to the earth. "I think we go down!" the swordsman yelled to the Pixie as he fell.
OoC: If you need to know anything you can Aim. I hope this is good where I left it.
OoC: Sorry for the time it took to to write, how short it is, and of course how horribly written it is... >> Without further ado, here's my post... -_-
“Woah!” Gloria screeched as she began to crash down. She’d definitely been taken by surprise at the sudden decent of the tree and as she teetered off the edge. She struggled to stabilize herself and her wings encased around her, making her entire body spiral down. With all her might, she flapped her wings furiously. Within moments, the pixie/fairy was flapping her wings normally, but her breath was unstable. The sudden rush of air that was forced down her throat left her gasping for a normal intake of oxygen.
Before her breathing had become normal, she remembered her ally was still falling toward his doom on the tree. Gloria forced herself to dive down after Niku. “Gah! I wish he just had his own damn wings!”
As she forced her way to the tree top, the cold air rushing by chilled her pale cheeks. Suddenly, the tree and her body collided, sending her down through the tree branches. “Oomph!! I guess I miscalculated a bit…” The pixie groaned as she lifted herself off the tree branch that kept her from face planting on the floor.
Now Gloria had another dilemma to deal with, somehow navigating herself back up through the trees. “Oh, this just gets better and better…” She flew up threw the trees trying to avoid each and every tree branch, if she hit even one, she’d be knocked out cold.
She emerged through the tree tops extending her wings to their full length. The pixie frantically searched the tree top for the swordsman. “This is too much!” She thought, shaking her head vigorously back and forth.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the bright red bandana he wore on his head. “There he is…” Gloria gave a small sigh of relief and almost casual hovered toward the swordsman.
When she reached him, he looked like he’d been through quite a lot. His face was cringed up, and it was obvious he was trying to take the shock from the falling tree all by himself. “Silly swordsman, that’s no way to live,” Gloria shook her head and grabbed him by his shoulders. “Hold on!”
Her wings were flapping a mile a minute, almost as fast as how fast her mind was formulating questions, “What just happened? Why did it happen? How are we going to find the leaf now? How did that tree get to be so big? Why does Niku wear a red bandana? Why am I so curious?”
Eventually, she was flying at a steady pace and her arms were burning from having to hold the swordsman up. Yet, still have an endless amount of questions, Gloria asked Niku how he was, “So, how’re ya’ holding up?”
