Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: This is for anyone with a character that can fly or something of that nature...... Max shall be..... When I think there is enough.... I'm not sure how many exactly though. I'm using Gloria link in sig! ^^
Bic: “Wow! Would ya’ look at that! A contest flyer! I haven’t seen one of those in ages!” Gloria marveled as she stared upon bright orange flyers. She had entered a town called Arinoa and it seemed the town was preparing for the towns annual flying race. Gloria was thrilled to find out that for the first time in the town’s history they were allowing anyone to enter. “This will be so much fun!” She said enthusiastically. Her wings fluttered with delight. As she inspected the flyers she they read: Arinoa’s BIG flying race!!! Friday @ 12:00PM Anyone eligible! 3rd: place: cash prize 2nd place: Trophy and cash prize 1st place: Trophy, cash prize, and a mystery prize “Hmm….. Today being Thursday I got here JUST in time!” Gloria said beaming with delight. “Maybe I should scope out the competition though….” Gloria went to the registration location for the race and after signing up she began to look at her competitors. Soon she realized that no one there even caught her interest. That is until someone swung open the doors and stepped in with such a presence that Gloria knew this was going to be an interesting race. OoC: Yes I know it's short, but it's just an intro.....

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Sweet. I've got wings. And things. Kellson is post 683, http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...?t=828&page=46
IC: Kellson pushed the double doors open at the same time, allowing the sunlight to frame him in the doorway. He grinned under his cowl; dramatic entrances were fun to play out with. Striding to the registration desk, he answered the questions quickly in monotone. Even races started slow. "And how shall you be flying, sir?" the receptionist asked. Kellson smiled again; it was obvious she was more bored than he was. "Wings." "Let's see them, then." Kellson flexed his back, allowing his hidden wings to unfold to their largest extent with a flourish. The receptionist eyed them approvingly. "Good luck then, sir. Most of them use magic to fly. Not as interesting, I think." "Not nearly as fun, either," Kellson agreed. He nodded to her and sat down on a bench, examining his opponents. The clerk was right; only a handful showed wings. One of them, a shortish fairy type, fluttered over to him like a hummingbird. Her wings were very colorful, and Kellson hid a smirk. An archangel fighting a fairy, and who would win? Of course, he wasn't even dead yet, but someday... Before he knew it, the fairy thing was talking to him. OoC: Kick things off? I have no idea about anything with Gloria except that she's more hyper than a kid that's been sucking sugar nonstop.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Sorry about that I forgot to mention her link is in my sig. Anyway, I can't wait until more people join the races. ^^
BiC: “Hey!” Gloria said brightly to the man who had just walked in. “What’s your name?” “Kellson.” He replied. “Hey Kellson! I’m Gloria! You seem like a good flyer.” She said clasping her hands together. “I look forward to competing with you!” Gloria giggled in delight and skipped off leaving Kellson by himself. “That looks like a worthy competitor! I can’t wait to find how many more there shall be tomorrow!” Gloria walked off toward her place of residence for the night and got prepared for a good rest seeing as the next day she would get to fly against Kellson and any other good flyers. The next day…… . Gloria flew toward the registration location to find a line of people and creatures alike waiting to fly in the big race. As she expected there were many more competitors here today then the previous day. She knew that people from all places would be entering the race. She looked around and saw that there were some that made her feel a bit intimidated, but she would never back down! Not when she was so determined to win. She had a couple hours before the race started and she was going to look around and find more interesting people.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
![]() IC: Kellson strolled up the stairs to the building's roof, where the race would begin. He caught sight of the fairy girl from yesterday and chuckled softly. Hyyyyyyyyper. Looking around, he beat his wings casually, sending a gust of air to knock over a stack of food boxes at a vendor's cart. As the man stooped to retrieve them, Kellson palmed an apple and small bread slice from the counter, dropping the apple into his bag for Norman the hedgehog. He wolfed the bread down and folded his wings beneath his skin once more. They were sensitive, and there was no point in getting them hurt on accident. He looked over the competetors once more. None of them looked very tough. Most of them were armed, which made Kellson smile. If they were armed, they expected trouble. So, it wasn't only a race. "Hiya, Kellson!" Kellson turned to see Gloria standing there. "Uh, hey...Gloria, right?" "Yeah!" she said, waving. "Wow, I'm excited. Some of these guys look tough to beat!" Casting a dubious eye once more over the others, Kellson shrugged. "Maybe a few, but not very many. Most of them look tough in another way." "Oh, the weapons? I'm sure it's just for protection or hunting for food," she assured him. Protection from what? he thought, grinning inwardly. He nodded to her and walked away. More venders had set up their carts and stalls nearby. He sauntered over to a few and looked them over. Food, some weapons. Not much good. One man, tattooed and grimy, waved him over. "Hey, man, check this hardcore jack out." Kellson let the slang fly by; so many people from so many places. He looked and saw a small white device, no bigger than his thumb, lying on a soft towel. It had a string coming out the top that branched into two more, with small buds on the end. On the top center, a circle with several markings on it was slightly raised above the rest. "What is it?" he asked, curiousity piqued. "'S called an iPod. 'S a Shuffle. Push this little switch here, see?" He thumbed a switch on the reverse side. "Now press this button to play the music. Push it again to pause. It holds any music you want. I modified it so it holds more than 15,000 songs. Trust me, dude, you might not be used to electricity with your swords and crap, but this is the greatest. Just go to a big city to get more songs." Kellson stuck a bud in his ear and listened. Shouts, drums, and twangs erupted from the bud, sounding like a cacophony and a work of art at the same time. "What is it?" he asked, amazed. "Rock and roll, man! The real heavy stuff is metal." Kellson fell in love. After ten minutes of haggling, Kellson walked away minus his longsword, but with the Shuffle. OoC: Heh, I wanted him to have background music for flying. Like a car radio in the air. Meh, we need a few more people to spice this up, still.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Yay...thankies rikus_girl =D
BiC: Ahavalin the vampire was where he usually was. In the air. Ever since his transformation from vampire to luminae nosferatu he had gained considerable skill in flying. Though his wings were not very large, the magic of the transformation enabled him to become lighter when he flew. Ahavalin looked straight beneath him to see a peculiar city with banners draped over various houses and stand wiht people ringing bells and shouting out things that were far beyond the vampire's hearing. The winged warrior dipped down and zoomed right into the town. As expected upon landing a few women screamed and dropped the baskets they were caryying, running off to find shelter in nearby houses. Ahavalin ignored them and placed a black hood over his head, keeping a steady hand on Foulfang's hilt. After a while of exploring the place he noticed a large town hall. The place was literally drowning in conpetition banners saying: Smiling silently, he walked the marble steps to the large oak doors of the building. He wrenched them open to reveal a place of babbling creatures that, Ahavalin noticed, all seemed to have the abilioty to fly. One held a parachute in one hand and a large brute held a sparkling potion. A few of them had wings, and several other strange contraptions were tucked firmly under the arms of some of the contestants. Ahavalin walked to the desk to see a bored looking woman writing out something on a clipboard. Ahavalin coughed and the lady replied, though she did not look up. "Here for the contest, are you. I'll need your name, age and race." The nosferatu almost burst out with laughter, a rare occurence. What would her reaction be if he told them that he was a vampire and he was over 500 years old? He decided to do it from another point of veiw." I am Ahavalin....Arnauld. My race find it hard to tell others of our age, and I am a winged evolvement from the canined developments of bats with a holy demeanour." The lady actually looked up and stared at the vampire, then looked back down. "Okay then. Please move out of here and to your right and you will find the flying grounds." Ahavalin turned around and walked out, holding a pale hand over his mouth.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Sorry, it took me so long to get to this, I've been slacking a bit lately... Anyway here it is.
BiC: Balloons and kites littered the clear blue sky. Hundreds of people were gathered around the base of a large high-rise building. Young children perched themselves apon their father’s shoulders and cheered out towards the distant heights. A cheerful but competitive atmosphere filled the air. Crécasta pushed her way through the dense crowd towards a large marble fountain. Taking a quick agile step she jumped onto its edge grabbing a nearby pole to keep her balance. She now had a better view of the scene above. A large group of people, all from many different races and origins, were visible at the edge of the large building. All seemed nervous as they hopped about stretching and warming themselves up for the event to come. Many of the group seemed to have sets of wings, Créa could she a small angel among other flying creatures. The woman’s curiosity was beginning to get the best of her. Faolchú voice whispered in her ear. “Seems like there’s a competition.” “Yeah, I wonder what it is.” Créa said as she lowered herself back to ground level and grabbed a large man that stood next to her. Holding him by the shoulder and being careful as not to catch him with her weapons, she turned his face to her. “Could you be kind enough to let me know what’s going on here?” She gave the man a smile as he gazed down at her with a bemused look laden across his face. He let out a small chuckle, “T’would be the annual flyer’s contest of course. Surprise you didn’t know, it’s the main event of this here town!” Créa smile widened. “A flying contest, ay? Should be an easy way to make a bit of money.” She released the man’s shoulder. “Where can I enter?” “You’re a wee bit late for wanting to enter. You had to register over two hours ago, and anyway I don’t think a young lass like yourself would stand a chance against some of those flyers up there.” Créa’s smile turned to a look of sincere annoyance. Suddenly a large blast of air exploded from the ground beneath the man launching him several meters into the air, another similar one rose beneath Créa as she skilfully directed herself towards the high building top. “Men!” The Dúileach pulled out of the air stream and landed skilfully atop the high rooftop, one of her signature smiles spread across her face as she heard the “oh”s and “ah”s of the crowd below. She began to walk gracefully towards a proud looking man holding a large clipboard; the eyes of the other competitors followed her every move. “I’m guessing you’re the official. I’d like to enter.” The man’s wrinkled face was coated with a stern look. “Well I’m sorry, madam, but you’re too late to enter as we have already reached are maximum entries. I’m very sorry but you will have to watch from below.” His eyes returned to the task of inspecting his list. With a huff Crécasta turned away and began heading towards the stairwell that came up onto the flat rooftop. She caught a man with a set of small wings glancing at her as she walked by. A plan sprung into her mind. She gave the young man a wide smile putting all she had into it. Strutting her stuff, she walked off to him and passed the back of her soft hand against his bare cheek. She held her hazel eyes locked in his gaze. “Hey, hun, why don’t you ditch this race a come for a walk with me?” A cheeky smile spread across the man’s attractive face. “Sounds like fun.” Locking her arm around his Créa began to lead the man towards the stairwell. “So, what’s your name?” The happy grin still coated the man’s face as he praised his good fortune. The two had reached the stairwell, “It’s Crécasta…” In one swift motion the athletic woman spun around twisting the burly man’s structure through the open door. She closed it over tight with her free hand, jamming it shut with a nearby plank of wood. “…don’t forget it.” The Dúileach began to head confidently towards the starting line. She took her place next to a small fairy like creature with an ostentatious set of wings. OoC: Oh, Jay, by the way I was planning on using Créa for my battle against you so we should probably decide which comes first, this RP, or our battle. |

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
Ooc: Anyone else wants to join, just say your character already signed up. Let's get this party started, already.
IC:Kellson smirked and shouted, "Real nice, lady. Real subtle. Not over the top at all." The woman spun, hands akimbo. "Hey, mind your own business, loud mouth!" Grinning, Kellson rose from his perch on the roof wall. "Whatever you say, inky! Ye gods, if I had that many tattoos I'd charge admission for people to look at me and say it was an art gallery." "Shove it!" "Attention, your attention please." An official was handing out sheets of paper while another stood on an upturned tomato box, cupped hands acting as an impromptu megaphone. "We are now handing out maps of the terrain you will be passing over. Please direct your attention to the starting line and we will begin momentarily. Have a nice day," he completed, monotone. Kellson cast the cowl on his cloak up, allowing his wings to rip out to their greatest extent. He had dyed them black and the overall effect looked intimidating. He saw the fairy girl, Gloria, fluttering her wings excitedly. Others had no wings, presumably using magic or other boring tools to boost them along. "We begin in one minute. Have a nice day," the official said. Kellson, bored flew out in front of the assembling racers, hovering like the angel of death. "Hey! All you complete tools out there! You wanna go? I'll take you on, suckers!" he crowed, pumping himself up. His wings beat heavily, sending dust on the roof spurting. "Bring it," someone yelled. Might have been that tattoo girl. "Three, two, one, go. Have a nice day." They erupted into the air. Kellson let them get a slight headstart and then followed, glanced at the map, and started gaining altitude. He flew higher and hovered, watching the varying people try to outrace each other. "Morons," he muttered aloud. It was a cross country race; trying to be a speed demon would just tire you out and you'd be awful the rest of the way. He spun around, feeling liberated in the air, and flew on.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
Umm..... I think that turns could help..... How about I post next, then Jay because DoC just posted, and then Mr.Man, and lastly DoC until we end the race. ^^ Sound good? Well, I'll edit this as soon as I'm done I suppose. =]
OoC:Sorry for the wait.... And for the shortness.... BiC: “Wow. Look at the amazing turn out!” Celia said as she cruised through the air. She unfolded her map and saw the huge terrain they would be flying over. “Well, what do we have here?” said a dark looking fellow that brandished two looming black wings. To Gloria he seemed very much like a vampire. “Why, hello there! I’m Gloria.” Gloria said kindly to the man flying above her. “I’m Ahavalin Veritias” the man called Ahavalin said, “Nice to meet you.” “Same here. So which route will you be taking?” Gloria asked gesturing at the map Ahavalin held in his pale hand. “Hmm…. Are you sure it is wise for me to tell you?” Ahavalin asked politely. “Oh! I’m sorry. Well, if you’re wondering I’ll be going through the forest. Of course if I decide not to I think the mountains would be a good second choice…….. Well, nice meeting you, but I think I want to get an early lead.” Gloria gave him a large grin and fluttered her wings. She flew forward with her wings fluttering furiously. She saw that almost everyone was flying close to the ground. Ahavalin and she were some, of the very few, flying sky high. She did a loop in the air and stopped herself from using all her energy in the beginning of the race. Gloria opened her map and by the looks of things, she had gotten ahead pretty quickly. “Oh, my. I hope that I haven’t used too much energy too quickly……” Gloria placed her hand on her chin and flew slowly thinking to herself. Suddenly, a girl shot up beside her. She looked quite beautiful and had tattoos all over her body. “Who might you be?” The girl asked Gloria as she keep using geysers to keep her afloat. “I’m Gloria. You’re so skilled!” Gloria’s eyes widened as she kept creating geysers. “Thanks. I’m Crécasta. Nice wings you got there. Shame they can’t beat me.” Crécasta taunted as she shot forward leaving Gloria dumbfounded. “There are some very competitive people in this race…. I’ll have to be careful”, she thought to herself as she fluttered her wings forward. She could see the different roads opening up ahead of them. There were the mountains, ocean, forest, desert, and an icy, glacier like terrain. Seeing all the choices ahead of her, Gloria wasn’t sure which one to take any more. She hovered in the air for a minute until she decided for some ennie meenie mini mo. She spoke the words softly to herself and her finger landed on her path. “Sounds good to me! Here I go!” Gloria smiled brightly and flew onto her path.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
Ahavalin took a quick glance at the way that gloria was flying and zoomed into the forest setting.
The trails were all seperated by long, tall posts and flags. The vampire only saw trees as far as the eye could see. To the far right was an icy wasteland, it's barren terrain housing strong winds. It looked like a kind of mage had helped producing these landscapes. Ahavalin's small black wings halted momentarilt before stopping to keep him suspended in mid-air. He could hear something- a scream. It seemed to be coming from up ahead. It looked like a few of the contestants weren't taking their time in getting ahead of the others. The luminae nosferatu took off once again, glancing momentarily back down at his map. As Ahavalin flew further he noticed two figures supended in mid-air, locked together in what appeared to be an embrace. upon further inspection, though, he noticed that one of the figures had it's teeth sunk deep into the other's neck, the victim's eyes staring into space, as if hyponotized. Ahavalin observed teh guresome scene with a swift glance before charging in and slashing the vampire multiple time wiht his claws. The attacker recoiled, clutching his chest which showed signs of three long bloody swipes. Ahavalin stared at the otehr vampire, amost amused at his attempt to take advantage of the poor contestant. "You just couldn't resist, couldn't you..." The otehr vampire snarled viciously and leaped towards Ahavalin. A quick burst of light from his hovering form and the blood-sucking fiend screeched horrendously and flew off, leaving a putrid smell in the air. Ahavalin turned to look at the woman who had been attacked. She still was supended in mid-air by an unseen force, her eyes almost glazed over. The nosferatu reached over to the woman's neck and licked it, applying saliva to the bleeding wound. It quikcly healed over, showing no sign of an attack. Ahavalin snapped his fingers in front of the lady's face, causing her eyes to snap open from her day dream. She surveyed Ahavalin with mild curiousity. "..Who are you?" Ahavalin blinked. "Ahavalin Veritias. You should be going now, we are far behind in this race." The woman sighed. "Oh dear. I MUST win this prize....Excuse me..." Without a further word, the female sped off, faster than a flying arrow. Ahavalin marveled at her ability to fly without wings, and took off after her.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Delay = exams + laziness.
Oh Jay, I'm not sure if that woman was Créa or not but I'm going to say it wasn't cause she doesn't fly by an unseen force. She has to keep herself afloat by using her Wind Geyser technique. BiC: Crécasta took off, flying apon one of her wind geysers rising up and down through the sky. The forest floor lay hundreds of feet below her, mighty animals such as the deer seeming like ants from where she was. There were very few people ahead of her, five at most. She’d need to pick up the speed a bit. Carefully she launched another wind stream of wind energy below her propelling herself further forward and higher than before. She began to concentrate her body’s energies, locking in on the magics that flowed from her tattoos. She began to call apon the Sky Deity contained within them. “Iolar, I think I’m going to need a hand here.” At her wish the spirit of the sky appeared beside her, flapping his majestic wings. “How may I be of help?” The bird’s magnificent golden plumage swayed gently as he carried himself beside his master. “Well, I think a bit of spirit bonding would be good.” “As you wish.” Iolar’s semi-transparent form began to shrink until it was no bigger than Créa’s slender hand. Then, suddenly he launched himself into the woman’s chest. A rich golden light began to radiate from Créa’s body. Slowly, it began to fade away leaving only a soft and gentle glow about her form. She felt the Sky Deity’s spiritual energies flowing with her own, empowering her wind magics. She let out another one of her wind geysers. It sent her smooth shape rocketing through the air and with metres of the leaders. With her heightened sight she could clearly make out their features. OoC: Sorry for shortness, I'm feeling rather uninspired at the moment. |

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
Kellson watched the leaders. They were slightly visible dots in the distance, but that would be enough. As long as he didn't lose sight of them, he'd be in good shape.
He banked to the east and headed towards the ocean. There'd be some good thermals there, and food. Far off, there was shouting. He looked over. A bright blast of light, and he saw the faint outline of a man glow before disappearing. The two others conversed for a few seconds, and then separated. He shrugged and flew on. Not his problem. "You okay, Norman?" he asked. There was a squeak. "All right." He reached the beach in less than an hour. The water sparkled crystal blue, and he could see all the way to the bottom. Dolphins popped out of the waves like corks. He flew lower, in between them, laughing at the salty spray that hit his face. Another fin came out of the water, slightly different than the dolphins. Flipping over on his back, still flying forward, Kellson peered at it. It was similar to the dolphins, but more heavyset...He cought a glimpse of white, pointed teeth. Shark. He pulled out his crossbow and shot it, grabbing it as it recoiled, and threw it out of the water. It landed in the shallows. Racing over, he threw it on land before blood attracted other sharks. It flopped around on the beach until he shot it again, in the mouth. The dolphins squeaked and chattered, floating around on their backs, before disappearing. Kellson watched them go and then looked at the corpse. Several teeth had fallen out when he shot it. He picked a large one up and pocketed it. Why not? "Food for someone," he murmured, and took off back into the sky, letting the hot air bouy him up.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Yeah, okay, I am using the only character I have so, it is the only one in my signarute, Kate.
BiC: Kate flew by a man blowing a kiss to him and kept flying towards the finish line. "Oh, why did I just do that? That is very much unlike me." Kate said to herself flying with her wings out and feeling the breeze, she was not bored at all. "Wonderful!" She said. |

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: I'm such a loser for taking so long... AND for it being so short. AND for it being such a low quality post... I'll leave it at that... V.V Well, I forgot to mention, but Saruna was invited by me, so... Yeah. :]
BiC: Gloria sped through the trees twisting and twirling without showing any sign of difficulty. "This is a blast! I'm having so much fun!" Her wings flapped steadily as she looked around at her surroundings, and her competitors. It seemed as though a great number of people had gone through the forest region. There were several people behind her, but there was about an equal number in front of her. As far as altitude went, most of her competitors were flying as close to the ground as they could. Not many chose to fly above the trees, for there a force field created by mages that prevented escaping the region, and rising too high above it. Gloria preferred to keep right in the middle. She wasn’t sure how long the course was exactly, but considering people had brought along weapons and their “game faces”, there would either be a brawl at the finish line, or this race would last long enough for the racers to get hungry… Before long, she met up with another interesting racer. “Hello there!” Gloria flew underneath the female racer and up in front of her. “Hi, I’m Gloria.” She said with a bright smile. “Oh, hello! I’m Kate.” She said continuing to fly. “So… Are you hoping to win or just doing this for fun?” Gloria said taking a place beside her and keeping up with Kate’s pace. “What kind of question is that!? To win of course! I’m going to cross that finish line before everyone!” With a confident grin Kate began to fly faster. “Well, I’m doing this for fun! If I win, the prize would just be a nice extra.” Gloria flapped her wings faster to keep up with Kate’s pace. “If you say so…” Kate said looking back at Gloria skeptically. “Hmph! You don’t believe me, do you? Well, that’s fine with me…” Gloria flew into the dense forest leaving Kate by herself. “Is it just me, or are some people taking this race too seriously…” Gloria kept flying and without even having time to duck, an arrow flew inches from her head. “WOAH!” Gloria stopped flapping her wings for moment. She began losing altitude quickly and her wings got caught in each other. Within seconds, Gloria began spiraling down. With a scream, she desperately tried to compose herself, but couldn’t stop the violent swirling. The pixie/fairy blacked out before hitting the ground with a hard thud.

Re: Take to the Sky (any character that can fly)
OoC: Sorry for being so late myself, I woundered away fom ZU for a bit, so, yeah, my brother convinced me to get back. XD
And sorry for my short posts. BiC: As Kate flew through the forests and arrows shot at her, she noticed the girl as she swirled to the ground, she flew down after her. She noticed she had hit the ground and blacked out, without hesitation, she flew down as quickly as she could. Landing on the ground as arrows kept shooting at her, she tried to wak up Gloria, but, unfortunetly she wouldn't wake up. "Wait here, after the race I'll get back here, to see if your still here, sorry." She whispered, flying away she looked back with a sad face, she couldn't help her, all she could do is finish the race then come back for her. People passed her continuosly, she tried to pick up as much speed as she could, passing villagers that she waved to. She continued to fly, picking up more speed as she went, though, her wings hurt just a bit. |
