I figured that with so many people in the RP, it probably should have a discussion thread so that communication and discussion around the RP can happen in a more centralized and simpler way than a whole bunch of PMs and VMs.


How do I join this RP?

"Raging Cataclysm" is now closed, meaning if you want to join in you'll have to contact me first, either by PM or VM. It's no problem to join right now, but don't wait too long as we're going to be approaching the endgame sooner or later.



What has happened?

A group of people wake up and find themselves in the middle of a city that is being ravaged by destructive forces of monsters, sorcerers and dragons. Eventually they are brought to a realm of dragons, where they meet a great dragon spirit called the Kaiser. Kaiser grants his blessing to everyone in the group, which gives them the offensive and defensive powers needed for their given mission - to reach the center of the ruined city and destroy the dimensional portal that they will find there. As they are all brought to the outskirts of the city by Kaiser's power, they suddenly find themselves confronted by a force of demons as well as a group of dragons.



What can we do in this thread?

We can use this thread to discuss and plan posts. For instance, if you plan on using someone's character then this thread might be the ideal place to ask the owner(s) in question whether what you've planned is fine with them. It's also a good place to ask me or tell me about certain things that weren't explained all that well in one of my posts, or perhaps ask for a clarification about something. If you have an idea that you wanna try out but don't really know if it will work well with where the RP is going, this is also a good place to ask about it.

If anyone wishes, they're more than happy to include Khalrai giving support to them in this fight. I'm not having her go toe to toe with any of the demons or dragons unlike the rest of you.

To make sure that the RP doesn't stall for too long, I'm gonna set a deadline for when I'm gonna make my next post which moves the story forward:

You know, I didn't even notice this thread. I usually just pop in straight to OoC thread here. I'll have to remember this.

Who are the Dragon Lords?

The Dragon Lords are three powerful masters of the race of dragons seen in the Raging Cataclysm RP. They have their own realm that they govern (the one that the Kaiser dragon summoned our characters into). The Wyrm rules life and death, the Trygon governs time and space, and the Kaiser dragon commands the power of magic.

The Dragon Lords were initially a balanced force, but the Wyrm eventually overtook the other two Dragon Lords in power and started to act on his desire to branch out of the dragons' domain and into other worlds. To do this, he had to use the dimensional gate. The only problem was that the dragons had no means of physically getting out of their dimension - they had to have someone open portals from the outside. So, through unknown measures, the Wyrm managed to reach a group of human sorcerers in a realm far, far away. Convincing them to join his cause was not hard at all for the Wyrm when he demonstrated for them a tiny fraction of his great power.

So it was that the humans came to help the dragons escape their own dimension and enter the ancient city, where the battle now rages for control of the dimensional gate.


What is the dimensional gate?

The dimensional gate is a concentration of energy found in the center of the ancient city found between dimensions. Those who enter it will find themselves at the doorstep of all dimensions everywhere. When or how it was created is unknown, but its role in the story is clear - for our heroes, it is the object that must be destroyed for peace to be possible. For the Wyrm, it is the object that must be conquered to open the pathways into other worlds. What exactly the Wyrm wants with other worlds is unknown as of yet.

I would have posted earlier, if it weren't for the fact that updates on a post no longer appear in my e-mail, whether I am subscribed or not. I'll probably post later on today.

As much as I didn't help with the little lull in activity recently, I'm glad this isn't dead and hope it picks up soon.

Sorry bout the wait on that last post. Had myself buried in Diablo 3 lately.

So it's been three weeks and Sheogorath hasn't even been on in over a week to respond to our pokes. Mayhaps we should consider writing them out?

Yeah, at this point I think there's little point in waiting for Sheogorath. In which case our list of people have shrunk to the following:

Five people is plenty enough. I'll be looking into bringing the RP into its final stretch now, with a post hopefully going up before we hit August.

Hello it's me, and I know that you all have reasons to be furious at me for having unexpectedly cut out of the RP (and nearly the entire forums) more than a month ago, and you have good reason to be. Therefore, I would like to apologize. I was in a very dark place for the last few weeks of my life, and the stress of the move to Switzerland didn't help much either. After having attempted suicide thrice and seeing a councilor for about a month, I decided to take a break from my life and get my ♥♥♥♥♥ together before trying to start anew. I know I should have posted that I would retire from the RP instead of just cutting out spontaneously, and I would like to extend my sincerest apologies. I know it's too late now to make amends in the RP, and it's far too late to get back in so I would like to officially withdraw from Raging Cataclysm. Thanks for the experience and maybe one day I'll RP with one of you again.
