ACTUAL TEACHING BUSINESS!: JOINT ASSIGNMENT!
Students Involved: ZeldaZ, and Ranstone, and anyone else who asks nicely.
Plot: Lily and Saveli(or whoever) go to enter their rooms in the dome for the night, but are knocked out upon entering. When they awaken they find themselves in the Port Side City-State of Silverwyn. What more they are accused of killing an influential Noble, and are told by the Lord-Commander of the City Watch that they are not allowed to leave the city until the Noble's death is solved. The Two must work together in the strange city to find the Noble's Killer, and maybe undercover a secret plot threatening to tear the city apart! Make sure to read all Supplementary information.
Silverwyn
Looks: Silverwyn is a large port city and is self-controlled. It is set in a medieval fantasy level of technology (No electronics). Around the city is a large curtain wall, and has only two gates from which someone could leave or enter. It is set on three hills. The largest is in the northwest and holds a large castle, which is home to the King (See Below for Character profiles). The Entrance to the Castle Courtyards is blocked by a curtain wall and gate. Only Guards, and Invited people may enter. Other than the kings family there are three other large Noble houses that are spread throughout the city.
The City itself is structured in a way to stuff as many people inside as possible. The Building walls are high (Three to four stories, which is large by medieval standards) and the streets are narrow making it something of a maze. The Buildings all are adorned with slanted roofs, and red shingles giving it a unique look when looking down at it from above.
The People: the people come from near and far. They are from all over the world and include as many fantasy races as you can shake a fist at. Most people are friendly but reserved and wont even look at someone unless they speak first. Though many races live in the city the primary race is human with their numbers over 400,000 while the other races combined are only about 30,000.
Major Industries: The major source of income for the city is its fishery, which runs off of its coast. not only that but not far outside the town is a salt mine(Salt is very valuable for preserving food) and thus they have no shortage of money. The City market is one of the most famous in the world and contains delicacies from across the world.
City Watch: The City is watched by a group of Seven Thousand Soldiers. They Act as the Cities Police force, and defensive force encase of attack. Anyone can apply to be a Watch Member, but as of recently their numbers have been dwindling and crime has become rampant. You'll find most watch members atop the red roofed buildings with bow in hand.
There are Six ranks a watch member can achieve. Lord-Commander: The Ruler of the entire watch. All major cases are differed to him. Commander: Second to the Lord-Commander. Seven of these exist and control groups of a thousand men each. Captain: These men are numerous, and each has a hundred men in their command. Squad leader: A Squad consists of ten to fifteen men, and this man has power over them. Recruit: most basic Watcher and most numerous. When someone becomes a Watch member their is their rank. These men are the most suspects for corruption. Finally there is the King Watch: A Hundred Elite Soldiers whose duty is to watch the King and his family inside the castle.
Other then that each of the other three noble houses has their own guard separate from the City Watch. The numbers of these men vary, and their loyalties are put into question. Most are hired from local mercenary companies.
Noble Houses: There are four Noble houses that will be discussed below. A Noble house is a family that owns land outside the city. They live in various Mansions across the city. Who they are, and what they own will all be discussed in the NPC section.
Places of Interest:
Port Side: Southeast side of the city is where the ships make port. It is a dangerous area at best with vagabonds from all around the world drinking their fill in the many pubs that lines the port, or, if they feel so bold, taking their pleasure in the State-Sponsored brothels. Though ragged, and a bit disgusting to the naked eye it holds a wealth of information in the form of rumors, and lately rumors have been building.
Dirt town: Named for what you would expect. The Poor side of town where...well...poor people live. Some people here sell their bodies, other sell their swords. Many Are bandits, and a gang of thieves and murderers are rumored to live here. Not a place one would want to go without a blade in hand.
RedSide: The large Castle that towers over the city. It is home to the king, his queens, his family, his servants, the King's Watch, and various advisers. For all the danger of parts of the city, some think this is the most dangerous part. In Dirt Town you will be killed by someone you don't know, in RedSide your brother’ll stab you in the back.
Grey Manor: Home to the Noble House Lelia. It is the largest of the Noble mansions and is located near the western wall and is heavily guarded by personal guards.
White Manor: The White Manor is smaller then all the other noble houses, and in fact is only slightly larger then some houses owned by non-nobles. It belongs to the noble house Jaita, and they have money to buy a build a larger mansion, but have declined to. Unlike the other houses they are protected directly by the City Watch instead of their own men.
[U]Black Manor:[U] A Large mansion located on the southern wall of the city. It was once home to the Regar House, but after the Regar house rebelled and tried to take control of Silverwyn it has been under control of the Tannis’ House. Patrolled by a larger number of Mercenaries and sellswords then the other houses combined. Rumor has it the House is haunted.
The Tunnels: beneath the Bowels of the city lies The Tunnels. Home to a collective of mages who answer to the king alone. The Entrances To The Tunnels are secret and what lies in them is unknown.

Noble Houses:
House Stannis: The Ones Above
The Stannis' are the rulers of the realm and have direct control over the city watch. Other then that they control the fishing industry and own large farming lands outside the city. They are highly revered by most of the citizens of Silverwyn.
Name:King Richard Stannis IV of Silverwyn
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 45
Personality: Richard Stannis is a quiet and thoughtful man. He doesn’t speak much and is the last to pass judgment, but don't mistake him for merciful. he is thoughtful, but believes in justice and honour above all things. This means depending on whom you are he can be your best friend, or greatest enemy. it is advisable to never try and Deceive the king...he knows.
Appearance: He is a tall and muscular man, though he has been putting on weight in the past few years he can still hold his won. He does not have a beard but has long red hair that is starting to go white around the edges. he is usually wearing Royal robes and his Golden Crown.
History: when he was ten his Father (Richard Stannis III) was killed in a coup and started a civil war. However his side won and the Noble house that opposed him was stripped of land and title. Since then he has been king, and ever since he was young the people had loved him. Not much by the other Nobles as he has been slowly stripping them of power and rights.
Permissions: Only I have access to this character unless I say otherwise.
Name: Prince Richard Stannis V
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 15
Personality: Cold and distant. he finds most faucets of royal life boring but at the same time as a nature disdain for the lower level people. he is pompous and arrogant, but not very ambitious, thankfully.
Appearance:Tall and muscular like his father. he is to young to grow a beard proper but has been trying for a mustache but it is not working very wall. Like his father he has long red hair.
History: He was trained since birth to be king. So he knows the Arts of battle, reading, writing, and dancing. He Finds the Castle boring and often strolls the city with no less then twenty guards.
Permissions: Anyone. You can run into him if you wish, but he wont be nice.
Name: Princess Arya Stannis
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 11
Personality: where her brother is cold and hard, Arya is wry and fun loving. She has a natural touch with people and enjoys helping them. She is a bundle of energy and hates being coped up in the castle, so much to her father’s distress, she often escapes her guards, dresses in casual clothes, and roams the city. She is not strong enough to wield a normal sword but has a thin one made for her and can hold her own. She also likes climbing the buildings in the city and most City Watch members know her.
Appearance: Thing and lithe. She has shorter(red) hair then both her brother and father. She is often mistaken for a servant boy and hates dressing up. She has a bit of a long face, and bright blue eye's she got from her mother.
History: lived much live her brother only she was taught the so-called "womanly-arts". However she forced the Master-at-Arms to teach her the ways of the sword.
Permissions: anyone, should be able to use.
House Lelia: Blood And Iron
A Thousand years ago the Ancient Lelia's built Silverwyn. Since then they had been kicked down a notch by a civil war. Now they own the contract to the Salt Mines and thus have nearly as much money as the coffers of the king. They have had bad will with the Stannis clan, but since Mary married into the Kings family things have been getting better between them...or have they...
Name: Queen Mary Stannis
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 32
Personality: She is a bright and happy person who tries her best to enjoy the life that she has been given. She cares little for the King's work but instead tries to make life easier for her citizens. Or so she says.
Appearance: She is a slightly larger women, not fat but definably plump. She has light blond hair that is nearly completely straight. Her face if fairly round, and she has dimples when she smiles. Very beautiful in her own way it is no surprise that the King chose her.
History: Born in the Grey manor as the eldest Daughter to the Eldest Son of the Lord of Grey Manor (Derg Lelia). Was chosen to wed the king from a young age. Even still she has always been loyal to her family above all else.
Permissions: Me. She doesn't leave RedSide so you wont see her for the most part.
Name: Lord Dorgon Lelia Of the Grey Manor.
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 78
Personality: He is an old man and getting older. As of late he has been very quiet and talks rarely. He hardly leaves his room anymore and rumors are that he is dying.
Appearance: as of late he is all but skin and bone. He lost his hair years ago and his beard has become thin and wirily. When he was younger he was a tall strong man who could fight ten men on his own. He is no longer the man he was.
History: when the civil war broke out he led his clan with the Stannis clan much to the Stannis' surprise. He Personally led the purge of the city removing the traitors.
Permissions: I doubt you will see much of him, but anyone if you want.
Name: Derg Lelia of the Grey Manor
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 55
Personality: He is a strange man. He talks and talks and talks yet most of what he says is a lie. The stuff that isn't a lie shouldn't be trusted either. He is considered a schemer and is disliked by most outside his own house.
Appearance: Unlike most of his house he is short, and skinny leaving many to believe he wasn't true born. Though no one would say that to his face. What he lacks in strength he makes up for quickness. Though he is getting on in age he looks almost twenty years younger then he is.
History: He fought in the civil war on the side of his father, though he was injured early in a battle. He recovered well but as a result fell in love and married a commoner. Since his father had become ill he had taken it upon himself to rule his family.

Name: Dorga Lelia
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 32
Personality: Dorga is a strong and prideful man. He knows full well that his family was once the rulers and has never forgotten that fact. However he has a soft spot for commoners given his late mother was one, and generally wants what is best for them.
Appearance: He looks more like a Lelia then his father. He is tall and strong with abroad face. Like most of his family he has light blond hair and rarely smiles.
History: Born in the Grey Manor he married at the age of nineteen, but only conceived a single child as his wife died during childbirth.

Name: Samantha Lelia
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 12
Personality: She is an odd child. She has a tendency to speak without thinking and about the strangest things. As well as a habit of randomly breaking into song and dance for no real reason. Though she does have a tendency to get upset when things don’t go her way.
Appearance: She looks much younger than she is with many mistaking her for as young as eight. She is a bit chubby and very short. Most people agree she is adorable.
Permissions: if you find yourself in the Grey Manor then you’ll see her. She is hard to miss.
House Jaita: Lower but Greater
The newest of the Noble houses they arrived but five hundred years ago. Though they did not give their country of origin the first Jaita arrived by ship with more money then the king. Since then they have all but monopolized the trading industry and it is said every ship that leaves port belongs to the,. Despite this most commoners agree that Jaita are the nicest of the Houses, and all who worked for them agree they are the best employers in the city.
Name: Lord Jaeen Jaita of the White Manor

Race: Human
Age: 54
Personality: He is by all regards a very nice man. He is happy and jovial and often finds himself in local pubs drinking with commoners. He has a taste for liquor, and for jest. It is hard to anger the man but if you ever do…well they call him the Hammer of Jaita for a reason.
Appearance: Like most of his house he has very tan skin. He is a very large man with quite a gut. Though his body is fattening, his face is not. He has a strong jaw and heavyset head. Though he is almost always smiling. At first glance many people mistake him for a local drunkard until they see his fancy clothing.
History: Born and raised in the White Manor. When he was younger he worked for the city watch and helped clean up Dirt Side with his war hammer (Though Dirt Side being Dirt Side it didn’t last for long. However man people there remember his work and most gangs stay away from him and his businesses). When his father was assassinated in lead up to the civil war he took control of his house. Theirs was the only house that did not directly participate in the war.
Permissions: Anyone. You’ll find him in pubs and should be a good source of information if you get him liquored up.

Name: Jeat Jaita of the White Manor
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 51 (Deceased)
Personality: He was a wise and thoughtful man who was well liked for his ability to mediate problems.
Appearance: Deaaad.
History: He is the younger brother to Lord Jaeen but he never let that stop him. He worked hard and eventually was to become the king’s personal advisor on issues regarding momentary funds. However this was cut short when he was assassinated. By who that is anyone’s guess.
Permissions: Dead. So no one but me. (I might do flash backs =D)
House Tannis: We Wield The Sword
Though the Tannis House does not officially run the City Watch they have been in charge of training them for many years. They originate from a warrior race across the Dead Sea and have stayed true to their warrior origins. Other then training the City Watch they own large farmlands outside the city. When the civil war broke out they did not side with the king, and don’t think the king has forgotten that fact.
Name: Lord Renly Tannis Of The Black Manor
Gender: Male
Race: Male
Age: 35
Personality: he is a cold calculating young man who thinks before he speaks, if he speaks at all. Don’t think that means he doesn’t hold grudges, he is quite skilled at that as well.
Appearance: Talk, and skinny, but he holds a sword better then near anyone. He has a long skinny face, and short cropped brown hair. He Usually wears heavy chain mail wherever he goes. Who knows why?
History: His father was killed in the civil war when Renly was still in the womb. His uncle took control of his house until Renly was of age. When his uncle refused to give back control he killed him. Since then he has taken full control over his house, and the training of City Watch troops.
Permissions: Anyone I suppose. Will be hard to see him.
Name: Robert Tannis
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 17
Personality: Robert cares about Robert, and that is about it. He is greedy and unsympathetic to the plights of others. There is no other way to put it, truly he is a jackass.
Appearance: standing nearly Seven feet tall he is a giant of a man. Some say he is still growing. He has long auburn hair that goes down well past his shoulder. He has a strong chiseled face and short beard.
History: Since childbirth he has always been large, and kept growing. He is now the primary training for the City watch.
Permissions: Anyone.
The City Watch
Thousands of men working together for a common purpose; To Protect, Defend, and Maintain the Rule of law. Their motto is “We are the Sword And Shield”.
Name: Lord-Commander of the City Watch Aegon Regar
Gender: Male
Race: Elf
Age: 54
Personality: He is a strong willed and at time stubborn man, but he has a sense of honor above all things. When your characters are accused of murder he is the one who forces the council to give them a chance to defend themselves, and allows them to roam the city until proof is found of their crime.
Appearance: Like most elves he is short, and skinny but very quick on foot. He has a slender face and pointed ears as well as long blond hair. Despite his stature he can hold is own despite the fact he only uses a dagger in battle.
History: Born of the Regar house, the only noble house made of Elves. However, when his house declared civil war he stepped out and refused to fight against the rightful king, because of this after the war he was allowed to keep his job in the City Watch. He was promoted to Lord-Commander soon after.
Permissions: Me. He is my Defacto Character.
[Note: Obviously these are not the only members of the Noble houses, and City watch. Each house has many uncles, and aunts, and daughters, and granddaughters, and bastards, and grand bastards. I am only naming a few who are important to the story. Feel free to add to them, as you will. Create as many of your own NPCs as you feel like. From the City Watch, Noble Houses, or otherwise. I Only ask you read these eons to make sure your NPC does not go against common sense (Giving a daughter to a person who is said to have no children).]
How This Is Going To Work
Your job is to Work together to find out who killed Jeat. But Puck, You may say, we don’t know who killed Jeat. Of Course you don’t, but I do. Basically I am going to break this thing up into Three Acts, the First act involves your characters running around the city trying to figure out how it works (Remember, while you may know everything I just told you. Your characters don’t) the Second will involve you delving deeper and starting to figure out what is going on. I will provide the information in my posts for you to do this. And the final act, which will involve more, fighting, realizing the extent of what is going on and finally a decision. This Assignment is going to test your ability to work out complicated plot lines, and how you react to handling characters you did not create. Trust me it will.
Posting order will go as follows. ZeldaZ will go first. Then Ranstone, then whoever else wishes to join. Each person posts twice, then I make a post controlling Aegon: That method goes on until it ends. Between my posts I will watch and critique your posts, not on grammar but on your usage and understanding of the created world. These critiques will be sent by PM.
