Boomer's Graduation

Alright my worthy student, your time with me has come to a close. This will take place on a magical platform surrounded by water. The magical part: even if Boomer falls in, he will float. Keep in mind that if he does fall in, he looses. (You graduate whether you win or not, just keep the spelling good and the grammer equal). If Ranul, Fang, or Napaj fall in, they are out. (Kinda like dodgeball, but there's no way to get your parner back). Last one standing, wins.

"Alright Ranul, take us to the graduation platform. Boomer, the rules are simple: beat me and Ranul. You may use any weapon at your desposal and the same goes for spells. Try not to fall in the water, as you will lose. Don't worry, you will still graduate," Napaj informed Boomer of the trials ahead. The platform was bare and slick with seaspray.

"Are you ready?" Ranul asked.

I'm going to give you the pleasure of actually starting the fight. You know the rules.

Boomer, Fang, Napaj, and Ranul stood on a smooth, stone platform that was one hundred feet in diameter. The platform was surrounded by water, and large waves crashed on its sides. A warm, gentle breeze blew the water from the waves across the platform, so that it was always slippery with water. The warm air and stone platform could aid in Napaj's magic, and the wind and cold water could aid in Ranul's magic. This battlefield was made for them, but Boomer's anticipation overode his nervousness. Even as water flowed against the bottom of his feet, he was in good spirits.

Boomer whispered an order to Fang, and started rolling hard at Napaj and Ranul, while Fang followed closely behind. The teachers combined a Wind and Fire attack to stop Boomer's advance, but he stopped on his own. Boomer took the full punishment while Fang used his back as a spring board to sail towards Napaj. Napaj managed to evade the attack, but Fang stayed on his heels. Ranul charged Boomer with lightning speed, but Boomer slammed the ground, breaking his charge.

Napaj caused stalagmites to sprout up in order to block Fang, while Boomer and Ranul engaged in a sword fight. Boomer used his tower shield, while Ranul used his sword's electrical barrier to block. The fight had started with a bang!

Napaj had his hands quite full trying to keep Fang at bay. "I guess it was unwise for me to underestimate an animal. Jolly good, Fireball!" he exclaimed suddenly, sending a large fireball right for Fang. Fang did a little hop-skip out of the way and slid towards the edge.

Ranul was having a fun time fighting Boomer. "Nice block. Ooh, I liked the slash," were among the praises sung. Ranul then backflipped and froze the ground around Boomer, making it hard to stand.

Fang had kept himself from falling, but didn't move, for the ice was under him as well. Napaj took this opportunity to run at Boomer, jumping before he hit the ice, and kicked Boomer's head. Boomer was sent skidding away.

Napaj took his turn with Boomer, while Ranul covered his back. An Earth Elemental was summoned, so Boomer grabbed his hammer and proceeded to pound on it. The Elemental grabbed Boomer's arms, but Boomer bit its head off.

"That's kind of savage." Napaj said, as the elemental crumbled.

Ranul used lightning to attack Fang, but he used the stalagmites for cover as he crept closer. Boomer threw javelins at Napaj, as he tried to block them with his sword. Boomer and Fang inched closer to Napaj and Ranul, until everyone was in the middle of the platform. All of the combatants were still full of energy, and the fight could go both ways.

Suddenly, Fang began to retreat as Boomer started charging an attack. The archangels recognized his Explosion attack, so Ranul used Ice, and Napaj used Earth, to encase Boomer in a barrier. The attack destroyed the barrier, but used up too much energy to do damage. While they were facing Boomer, Fang came from behind, and tackled Ranul to the ground.

"Not again!" Ranul yelled as Fang gripped Ranul's shoulder's with his claws. Boomer grabbed Napaj, and they both turned the heat up. The combined heat quickly evaporated the water, and grew too bright to look at.

I suppose I forgot to mention this, but the more stone based moves Napaj does, the smaller the platform gets. To make a stone golem, stone is required. And the same goes for stalagmites. I'd say we're down to seventy five feet. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the same goes for water.

IC:
Ranul was getting a little bit irritated at his opponent. "Hey Napaj, can you hold on your own for a minute?" he yelled. All he got in return was a frustrated grunt. Okay, he thought, I need to knock Fang off of the platform. No problem.

Napaj and Boomer's hands were locked, pushing against the other's. Neither giving an inch, but neither taking one either. (Bit of a toungue twister, that). "So, uh, is this how Rock felt?" Napaj asked in asperation.

Boomer choked a laugh, "Can't be serious, can you?" Boomer was surprised to feel Napaj push even more.

"Hey, you aren't going to bite my head off are you? I always thought that I was rather attractive and it would be a shame to see my good looks paint the insides of your *huge* stomach," Napaj said, stressing the word huge. Napaj had prided himself on having almost no body-fat and it was common knoledge that gorons develope rather large middles.

Ranul used the slick platform to slide toward the edge, where he planned on knocking Fang off. As Fang was edged close to the edge, he fought violently, as if he knew it was bad to go over the edge. Boomer started to notice a vein on Napaj's forehead that bulged when he strained himself. The two sides were in a deathlock, and unable to help their partners.

Suddenly, Boomer fell back, carrying Napaj with him. Boomer maneuvered Napaj toward the edge by rolling against him. It was like Napaj was pushing against a fast rolling boulder to keep himself from going over. Fang ran circles around Ranul, barking madly. It was chaos as the warriors were spread across the platform. The splashing waves didn't faze anyone, even Boomer, which showed his level of concentration.

"I forgot to ask if Fang has had all of his shots!" Ranul yelled across the platform.

"I'm between a rock and a wet place over here!" Napaj yelled.

"Are we winning yet!?" Boomer yelled to Fang.

"Owooo!" Fang replied.

Napaj was trying to stop Boomer's rolling attack from pushing him over the edge. It was at this time that Napaj found a small oppourtunity. Napaj lurched up and kicked the rolled up Boomer towards Fang... and Ranul.

Boomer, unable to stop himself from hitting, hoped that he wouldn't hurt either of the two he was about to colide with. Boomer smashed into them, stopping his forward momentum but launching both of them over the edge. He got up and looked over to watch them both be teleported away.

Napaj stood slowly and said, "Okay pal, let's even the odds." Napaj then made a small circle, only large enough for the two to stand and not move, to appear. "Step into the circle... if you dare."

"You're challenging me to close ranged combat? What are you up to?" Boomer asked.

"You will have to come and see." Napaj said.

As Boomer stepped in, he found that they were far too close for weapons. They punched, kicked, and headbutted each other for several minutes. They were both getting tired to start with, so the strikes weren't optimum. They slammed each other like sumo wrestlers, except the ring was half as large as a sumo ring. Boomer wasn't sure if the rules had changed or not, because they were in the middle of the platform, but seemed to be trying to force the other out of the ring also. There wasn't a whole lot of strategy involved, since they were only using their bodies.

The top of the ring was three feet above the ground, and they fell back to sit on it so they could catch their breaths. There was nothing to distract them from the other, and no partner to help them. It struck Boomer as funny that it all came down to him and Napaj. Napaj had been the first teacher he had gotten a message from. Boomer was so close that, for the first time since he arrived, he found himself thinking about what he would do afterwards.

"Okay, now it gets interesting," Napaj said breathlessly. Both teacher and student stood in the middle of the circle. Suddenly, the surrounding area crumbled and splashed in the water.

Boomer was surprised and confused. "Why did you drop the rest of the platform?" he exclaimed.

Napaj's answer was simple; "No more rests."

The two bowed slightly, as there wasn't enough room to go all the way down, and imeadiatly went into a grapple. If either one could gain the upper hand, the battle would end, but if niether could, they would both colapse from exaustion. And either truth seemed far to near for even Ranul to predict the outcome.

Boomer had totally forgotten about the fact that, win or lose, he'd be graduating at the end of this battle and was only focused on winning. Napaj couldn't forget that this was a nonfatality battle or he would do something stupid.

The platform wasn't even a platform anymore, it was a pillar. The pillar stood seventy feet above sea level, and waves were crashing into it, making it tremble. Two exhausted combatants tried to shove the other off, with barely enough space to get any leverage. It was like a strange dance, since they were both standing upright, and moving their feet back and forth, and side to side. Boomer didn't know which was harder, trying to push Napaj off, or trying to keep from slipping off.

Suddenly, Boomer slipped down, and found himself hugging the top of the pillar. He headbutted with all his strength, and crumbled the top of the pillar. Both warriors found themselves slowly sliding down towards the water, and Napaj was too tired to fly. Boomer slammed his fist into the pillar, and Napaj used magic to create foot holds. There they hung, ten feet above the waves, but within reach of each other.

"It's nice...of you to...drop by and...see me." Boomer grunted.

"I like...hanging out...with you." Napaj grunted.

Napaj hugged even closer to the pillar as the top continued to crumble and drop pieces on them. "So, are you... gonna give up?"

Boomer was also trying to get closer to the pillar, but his bulkier body made it difficult. Not that it was a spring walk for Napaj. "Give up? I thought you were supposed to do that."

"Well, if niether wants to give up, then it's up to whoever pushes the other off," Napaj said, punching Boomer's arm.

Boomer slipped a little, bit kept his grip. "Hey, I wasn't ready!" He then grabbed Napaj's leg and tried to drop him.

"Oh, I see how you are!" Napaj said, dropping his other leg and swinging onto Boomer's back. Napaj then proceeded to put Boomer in a headlock to knock him out. Sure, if Boomer fell, they'd both lose, but it was worth the risk... Napaj hoped.

As Boomer and Napaj fell, Boomer summoned a Fire Blast with his last remaining strength, and blasted the water at an angle. The force slammed them both into the pillar, breaking it in half. Napaj took the brunt of the punishment and fell off of Boomer's back. Napaj fell, with part of the pillar, while Boomer lay on the broken end. Boomer was about to close his eyes, but he saw Napaj leap off the pillar piece and land on top of the pillar. Then he collapsed on top of Boomer.

"Trying to pin me down, huh?" Boomer asked.

"Something like that." Napaj said.

OoC: You said you wanted to end it, right? I would have had Napaj fall in, but I'm not sure if you want to put the last post in or not.

Actually, you could have ended it. In fact, I'm going to let you.

The top of the pillar wasn't level, so both of the exhausted combatants slipped off the edge into the water. Boomer hit the water first, but it didn't really matter. They were teleported back to the Meadow Room where Ranul gave them a special potion. The potion rejuvenated them enough to stand, so Napaj gave Boomer a hardy handshake.

"You have improved so much, and are now a graduate of the Dome." Napaj said.

"It was great. I had so much fun, even when Ranul kicked my butt." Boomer said.

"I'm a giving person." Ranul said.

Fang was excited as well, and he accompanied the three to the front entrance, where they met Nicca.

"I graduated a little while ago, and I came here to wait for you." Nicca said. "I would love to see Hyrule, and meet your family and friends."

"I would be honored to escort you there." Boomer said.

Boomer and Nicca walked out together, talking about what they had done, and what they might do.

"They're in love whith each other." Ranul said back at the dome.

"It doesn't take a mind reader to see that." Napaj said.
