All four of you will be participating in... a relay race! But not just any relay race. A race Kyrias style.
Kyrias has bestowed upon you two items: A flute and a bowl.
The bowl is to be filled with soup. This soup, during the race, must remain on top of your character's head at all times. If the soup falls... well, you'll be eating it off the ground, then having to go back to the start to get a new filled bowl of soup.
The flute is your main item here. With the flute, you are to play a hymn for the person who resides at the top of a mountain. Aquino resides within a small house resting at the top of a large mountain covered in various obstacles. However... he is sick, and in need of aid! With your flute, you are to play the Hymn for Aquino, and make him better. It is a healing song with... well, healing properties? Bah, it's magic, as Piuma would put it. =P
Also, Aquino wants that soup!
The soup remains on your head. The flute must remain safe. You have all been transported to the mountain from your current training area. Assume that you all meet up with each other, since this is a race between students. Also asume that you are all competing against eahc other in an area where you can all actually get in each other's way and attempt to hold one another back... this is NOT going to be a clean race.
If your soup falls, you must eat it off the ground and run back to the bottom of the mountain to recieve a new bowl of soup from Kyrias. In case you are really curious... it's clam chowder, New England style. Have fun eating it off the ground.
You will all be posting in a certain order, so people don't post at the same time. You will pick up where the person before you left off. You will tell the story using YOUR OWN CHARACTER as the main person, while also including other characters in it as well. You may have points where characters do not interact.
After all four have posted, I will evaluate each of you individually. The order for posting is as follows:
No one can post until the person before them has gone. I'm looking for good detail and description of the things around you, perhaps some dialouge... and, well, action as well! Happy racing, and good luck all!
Alright, that was three days ago. ^^
Sorry if I sound impatient, but I'm eager to start, and I'm beginning to question how we're going to function properly in this race if we can't even start. Piuma is losing her mind! (it went that-a-way --->)
"Mister Kyrias! You're late!" Piuma huffed, getting up from the bench she sat on. "You said lunch time, and it's almost supper!"
Kyrias walked over, trying to hide a smile. "Sorry, Piuma. Really, I am. I didn't expect the Dome buisness to take as long as it did." He noticed the new look that Piuma had. "Visited one of the beauty shops?"
Piuma gave an energetic nod. "I also got you a book Mister Kyrias!" She said, holding up the weathered book to him. "It's about magic!"
"Oh, thanks there Piuma!" Kyrias said, taking the book and looking at it. "I'll add it to my collection."
"Maybe you could use that book to teach some of your students?" Piuma suggested happily.
"Maybe I will, Piuma." Kyrias said. "But first, we have some buisness to take care of. Come here."
Piuma walked over to Kyrias curiously, and he handed her a map. It was a really big map, and when Piuma looked at it, it blocked out all of Parnasse' scenery. It was bigger than her!
"See the picture of the mountain? It's near the top lef corner of the map." Kyrias asked.
"Yup. I can see the mountain, Mr. Kyrias." Piuma confirmed.
"Well, we're going to that mountain, because a certain individual who lives there is sick, and he has a strong affiliation with the Dome." Kyrias explained. "I was told to go up there, and help heal him, but I see this as a better opportunity for my students to learn something new."
Piuma raised an eyebrow. "But, Mr. Kyrias, how are we going to get there? It looks to be pretty far away."
Kyrias used his teaching abilities once more. Never giving the answer, but letting his student figure it out. "What happened last time you saw a regular peice of paper, Piuma?"
"It came to life." Piuma said.
"Ummm....magic, right?" Piuma asked.
"Right." Kyrias confirmed. "Now, if a small paper had magic like that, than a really big paper would hold even more magic. All it needs is a little encouragement."
"Like what?" Piuma asked.
The bells from the clocktower began ringing. Kyrias looked up, surprised. "It's that time already!?"
"I told you that you were late, Mister Kyrias." Piuma said with a giggle, trying to look over the big map at him.
"Well... time stops for nobody, so what say we get going, okay?" Kyrias said. "Map! Take Piuma to Aquino's mountian."
The map started to fold around Piuma. "Mr. Kyrias!? What about you?"
"I have some other students that I need to collect. Just wait where the map takes you, and make sure my soup doesn't boil over!" Kyrias explained.
"Okay!" Piuma called back, but it was muffled by the paper.
The map seemed to spin very fast, and Piuma along with it. In fact, she was starting to get very dizzy. Colors danced in front of Piuma, and the wind whistled in her ears. It seemed like it would never end, yet, from another perspective, it was almost instantaneous.
The map folded open, and Piuma stumbled right out, her head spinning. The mountain in front of her lurched backwards and forwards, and the birds around her in the trees were making loud noises.
"Wheeee!" Piuma said, stumbling forwards, and leaning against a tree. She felt crazy. She shook her head, and just leant against the tree, until the dizzy feeling passed.
"That...was weird." Piuma said. She looked around and saw the map lying on the grassy floor. Being careful to walk around it, she headed towards a large table, set out in the middle of the wilderness. On the table, were four bowls, four flutes, and a large pot that was steaming.
"Oh my..." Piuma said, examining each object on the table. "What on Earth did Mister Kyrias get me into this time?"
Piuma turned away from the table, and looked up at the mountain, where the sick Aquino resided. The mountain looked peaceful enough, with trees scattered here and there along the grassy slope. Chipmunks and birds sent their noises into the peaceful afternoon, and Piuma even saw a river that flowed gently down the mountain.
Higher up the mountian, the trees became scarce, the rass was only seen in smaller patches, replaced instead by red soil. Birds of prey circled something unknown, and the whole scenery near the top was a much gloomier one.
Piuma turned back to the table, and wondered to herself. Why did Kyrias need four people to help one person?
OoC: "You know, you can all write your part before other people post O_o" was that aimed at me? :S
Kyrias's eyes glowed intensely, the odd blue colour seeming an endless hole in to ages of wisdom..
"Sabooru. You have waited long for this moment but not in vain... Your first test will be to prove your sincerity, far from here."
Sabooru chizzled in the final edge of his newest product. A heavy brown table made for his new appartment. It suited nicely with all the other furniture he'd just created in the past 10 minutes. He clipped his double-sided axe on to his belt and stood cross-armed, waiting for Kyrias to continue.
"You will be meeting some of my other students, very soon." He lay a large map out on the table and pointed to the School on the arena map. "This is where we are now. And you must reach this spot over here" his finger trailed over to the picture of the mountains in the top corner of the map "The Aqueus Mountains..."Sabooru had seen many maps in his journeys, and made many himself, but none seemed as large as this one - and by the markings on the edge of the map Sabooru could tell it was not a complete version.
"How soon should I be there?" asked Sabooru
"You need not worry about that... I have ways of getting you there that you could not begin to comprehend."
The map begun to levitate in the air in front of Sabooru as he tried to inspect all the areas of the map at once.
The bells from the clocktower began ringing. Kyrias looked up, surprised. "It's that time already!?"
Sabooru opened his mouth to ask what Kyrias had said but the paper had begun to fold around him bringing him in to another realm entirely. Pictures whizzed past and colours ran togethor in Sabooru's mind as the confusing illusion of the map swivelled around him, drawing him in and compacting him in to another place entirely. A realm of no boundaries. A realm of magic...
And then the paper unfolded and Sabooru fell out. He looked up at who was standing there in front of him. Two small legs which he did not recognise. The person standing there giggled but stopped herself. Sabooru pushed himself up on to both of his legs and discovered that the person in front of him was a Rito girl. He scratched his head
"Er... Hello. Sabooru, at your service."
The girl giggled again "...Piuma"
They shook hands and she led him over to the table to state her feelings about the items there.
Sabooru was still quite confused and was actually just inspecting the table, and the amazing craft-man-ship that had gone in to it.
Bic: Dedgoroth dashed arround the corner of the building toward Kyrias, then sudenly stopped before him gasping for breath, "Sorry I'm late teach, I was timing myself on how long it would take me to run from the swamp training room, to here," He paused to take a drink of water in his flask, "But I kept forgetting to count."
"That's great Dedgoroth, but you need settle down and listen up for a few moments." Kyrias said setting down a bowl of soup and a flute down on the table.
"Ooh, soup!" Dedgoroth reached for the soup.
"Stop!" Shouted Kyrias, "That's not for you." he pulled out a map and layed it across the rest of the table, "The assignment is to Reach this mountain" He pointed at the mountain in the uper right corner of the map. "There is a sick person up there that needs help. You will be racing with the other students to reach the man and play a healing song for him."
"But teach, I can't play the flute!" Dedgoroth spoke with frustration.
"I'm not finished." said Kyrias. "You have to do this, while carrying a bowl of soup on your head."
Dedgoroth interupted, "What the Heck?"
Kyrias looked Dedgoroth in the eye, "I'm not finished?" He said getting a little impationt. "You can't let the bowl fall off your head, or you will have to eat it off the ground and start back at the foot of the mountain. Understood?"
Dedgoroth rolled his eyes, "Kinda odd, but I understand." He picked up the map, looking over his path, searching for shortcuts."
Kyrias Spoke, "Good." Now he seemed to talk to the map, "Take him to the mountain."
With a puzzeled look, dedgorothed asked, "Who are you talking to?"
Before Kyrias could answer, the map had wrapped around Dedgoroth. It began to spin, then it spinned faster and faster. "I'm getting sick here!" Said Dedgoroth. The next thing he knew, he was at the foot of the mountain with a few other students.
Once Ixion goes I'll read through everyone's and grade them, and then we'll move to the next part.
Oh, and eventually I would like all of you to get used to just checking the thread and posting in order on your own... in a normal battle, no one is going to be there to say "Alright, now _____ goes." when you fight someone. They'll just expect you to eventually post. nd that is what I'd like to get to as well.
