The Adventure of Hogwarts Discussion Thread

Now before we begin, some of you may be wondering why there is another HP RP when there is one already. Now the answer is, as a member of the other HP RP, I can safety say that RP is dead. I have asked (and received) permission from Gamzee to start this RP.

Now, Adventure of Hogwarts will have different "chapters" and a new RP for each chapter. This one will be for the first year, and we will be going through until the Second Wizardering War.

Our school year will take place from Fall of 1978 until Spring of 1985. This is the year after the Maurder's have left Hogwarts.

Now, this RP is going to have TWO dungeon masters: myself and Samuel Joseph Pie. As such the character approval process will go between the two of us among other book keeping things. (Although if you have a question, you can either post in the discussion thread or VM/PM one of us-we communicate, so there is no need to worry about a lack of communication.)

Rules:

Spoiler:  

1) You must post at least once a week. Holding up the RP isn't cool. However, we realize that you have a life, so you must contact one of the dungeon masters to let them know you will be gone for however long you will be gone.
2) If a character is being OOC or OP, anybody can call them out on it. However, the final say in the matter will rest in the two dungeon masters.
3) If your character witnesses an event which will be significant for them later on, you must make a post about the effect it has on them. This can be as simple as a thought; just so we know how your character feels about the situation and aren't blind sided when it is mentioned later on. Also, even if you don't think it will effect them that much later on, you should mention how they feel about it at the least because this will allow for character development.
4) Don't put your characters where they don't belong.
5) If you have to say something out of character, use ooc. Once you go back into character, use bic. However, do not make a habit out of this. If you have something to say, use the discussion thread.
6) If you make a NPC, please send it to one of the dungeon masters and it will be added to the main page.
7) Feel free to fight other characters. However, no deaths unless approved by the character creator or in the case of NPCs, one of the dungeon masters. In addition, fights must be planned out and decided upon the outcome prior to posting. (This must be done outside the RP thread.)
8) If somebody asks you to change something that you had their character do in your post, do it. It is their character, not yours.
9) If you do not get approval to do something with somebody else's character, do not do it.
10) Please give a two day alert before a dramatic event: we have a seer. She needs to see ♥♥♥♥.
11) Rules can be changed and amended as time goes on. There will be an announcement in the RP before this happens.

In addition, we will be making sure that we have a diversity of students who don't encroach on other. For example, Lori is naturally good at flying and not much else. (Besides history and beating people up.) As such, there will be no Quidditch player who is more talented then her. We will do this for each character that comes into the RP, so your character will have something that nobody else does.

Cassandra Pallas: (Gryffindor first year) Cassandra is a Gryffindor student that is named after Cassandra of Troy, the princess who was gifted with prophecy by the god Apollo. However, when she spurred his advances, he made it so nobody would believe her.

Like her namesake, Cassandra also can see into the future. And like her namesake, she is hardly ever believed. She can only see things, however, if it relates to pain or death. She can't control when she gets her visions.

Cassandra is incredibly sarcastic, constantly frustrated from the lack of people never believing her prophecies. She however is determined to use her powers to advance a better tomorrow. She doesn't like talking about her powers, and will deny it in a heartbeat if questioned. (However, she will eventually confess to a select number of people.) She has a tunnel vision in regards to personality, and if you ♥♥♥♥ up first impressions with her, you are going to have a very hard time showing you aren't like that.

She is very loyal towards the people she likes, and has a head strong way about going about things. She is one of the few people who can keep Lori in line.

She is an average student with no particular skill set besides being able to see in the future, but she is horrendous at Diviniation ironically.

She is a distant relative of Cassandra of Troy.

Ellen Lang:(Gryffindor first year) She enjoys writing. She has started the school newspaper. Her dream is to be the Editor of the Daily Prophet and looks up to Erin Sevola and has been harassing Lori on Erin's information gathering techniques. She is very good at getting information out of people, and keeps a small book of details on everybody she knows. Her secret hobby is writing trashy romance novels. Note: Obviously becomes a journalist.

Kathleen Beel: (Gryffindor first year) A rather timid and sensitive girl who doesn't say much. She loves plants and excels in Herbology. She also knows some basic first aid. She is the one who patched up Lori after the Potions room explosion. Note: She becomes a Healer.

Jack Lore: (Gryffindor first year) A loud braggart who claims he will be the next great wizard be the one who will end the wizarding war. He and Lori have a friendly rivalry going on who is going to be the one who will save the wizard world. Although, he was miffed at her for awhile for blowing up the Potions room and injuring him. However, he got over that figuring that You-Know-Who could do worse then making a classroom explode. He excels in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Note: He becomes a hit wizard.

Leo Quin: (Gryffindor first year) A boy obsessed with the rules. He is often directly at odds with Lori due to her notorious rule breaking. He feels the rules are there to protect people, and should be followed. Note: In the future he is part of the Magical Law Enforcement Squad.

Alan Sore: (Gryffindor first year) A boy obsessed with the supernatural, and as a result has a creepy stalkerish view on Cassandra. He incorrectly believes her to be an oracle (and this is only furthered by her dressing up as one for Halloween). He recently has taken the same creepy interest towards Audrey. Note: He will become an Unspeakable.

Jake Brown: (Gryffindor first year) A boy who is plays guitar rather loudly in the dorms, much to the annoyance of the other students when they are trying to study. He is looking for other members to be in his band. Jake is good at Transfiguration, but prefers to use Charms even though he really isn't that good at that because they can do better special effects. Note: In the Future he will become a musician.

Kyle Lych: (Gryffindor first year) A boy who is well liked around the Gryffindor common room, and is the second most popular Gryffindor first year after Lori. He is a very good people person, and has the ability to settle any disputes that may arise. Note: In the future he will be working in muggle relations.

Alex King: (Gryffindor third year) A perverted girl who has prefers the company of other ladies over men. She is constantly making the moves on girls of all ages, and constantly has to be hit on the head or something. All of the Gryffindors are some students from the other houses are well aware of her leanings. Most of the Gryffidnors are not at all affected by her tendencies, although Lucas is known to overreact and "correct" her.

Lucas Oakley: (Gryffindor fourth year) Captain of the Quidditch team who always has to be the best at what he does. He constantly is getting into fights with Alex. If people didn't know any better, they would assume he likes her. (He just might )

Davis Sevola: (Curse Breaker) Lori's older brother who graduated from Hogwarts three years before she came in. He was a beloved member of the Gryffindor House who everyone loved and looked up to. He took care of Lori most of her life, which lead many of the older Gryffindors to learn of her before she came and think of her as a younger sister. While he is the doting older brother, he has tunnel vision and is a perfectionist.

Elizabeth "Liz" Evanson: (Slytherin fifth year) Liz is Albert's older sister. She's a Slytherin, and won't let anyone forget that fact. She has a slight obsession with blood status, but only as much as it effects her social standing.

She's tall and skinny, with dark hair. She really doesn't like her younger brother, considering his paranoia annoying.

Melvin Twitterbock: (Slytherin third year) A black market dealer of sorts; he can sneak in almost anything, but for an outrageous pile of gold or a major favor. He doesn't discriminate against houses, but he doesn't mind ribbing Gryffindors from time to time. He excels in Transfiguration.

Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way (Slytherin first year) A girl who believes she is a vampire and has created this whole entire ridiculous back story for herself. Convincing she is full of ♥♥♥♥ is a losing battle, so most people treat her existence like a joke, because lets be honest, it is.

Alexis Vega: (Slytherin first year) A ♥♥♥♥♥ who looks down on others for not being a pure blood. Afraid of change and thinks friends are a waste of time.

Nial Fleming: (Ravenclaw first year) The bassisst of Acio Aquatis. An outgoing trickster who has a crush on Matty

Susan Stone: (Ravenclaw Prefect, fifth year) can be reasoned with, but generally holds strictly to the rules and will turn anyone in.

Holly Harrison: (Hufflepuff first year) Keyboardist of Acio Aquatis. A shy girl with stage fright which Matty is helping her get over.

Depending on who joins what house, more NPCs will added or removed. However, the major NPCs which we will be running into a lot will be Cassandra, Alex, Melvin, Lucas and Liz. (At least that I know of at the moment.)

Also, several notes:
-Lori and Al will blow up the Potion's room. Only Cassandra will know and she will not tell anybody else, but be in a very sour mood.
-Lori get's the Maurder's Map due to an incident. (She will not be able to use it until finals week of Winter Break.)
-Davis will come in around Lori's birthday to be a guest speaker for Defense Against the Dark Arts. During this time, a special addition to Curse Breakers will be revealed and Audrey's type of magic will be explained in depth.
-Lori and Audrey are best friends.
-Audrey will run into her father when she visits Lori during winter break

Lori is a good looking girl (who commonly is mistaken as a boy) whose athletic build shows. She wears her school uniform in a very relaxed manor-her shirt and tie is untucked (sometimes the tie isn't even tied) and it is a miracle if she is seen in her black robes. She is always wearing her brother's old black flying goggles because goggles are ♥♥♥♥ing awesome.

She has a high metabolism wouldn't even begin to describe it; the girl's stomach is a black hole. Her blue eyes can change shades depending on what she is wearing.

Due to her constantly getting into fights (and doing other stupid ass ♥♥♥♥) she has scars here and there and she has broken almost every bone in her body at least once. As a result, the magic in her system as healed her bones to be stronger then normal allowing her to take more hits.

When she wears muggle clothes she tends to wear loose fitting clothes such as jeans, sweatshirts, etc. She wears a lot of her older brother hand me downs.

Her robes are store bought; they aren't top notch, but they aren't shabby either.

Strengths: She is an incredibly talented flier with lots of street smarts. While she is intelligent to pass subjects, she is better at figuring things out instinctively. She is a street fighter and quite charismatic, although she attracts more girls then guys due to a constant gender mix up.
Weaknesses: Horrible procrastinator and will jump in fights easily if she feels somebody is getting picked on. Has a tendency to think rules are more of suggestions and guidelines then absolute laws that must be followed. Stays up incredibly late and as such it is not uncommon for her to fall asleep in classes. She can be incredibly stubborn in regards to certain things.

Fears: The inability to protect people. Being defenseless.
Boggart: Butterfly

Personality: A bit of a wild card and and an idiot. She is incredibly hyper with a good sense of humor. She is nice and means well, although sometimes she'll say something offensive without ever realizing it. Although if she realizes she has hurt somebody, she will go and apologize. She is laid back and out-going, although if the situation calls for it she can be incredibly serious. Has a strong sense of justice. She literally wants to be a super hero, and while she will never start a fight she sure as hell will finish one.

She wants to be an Auror or a Quidditch player when she grows up.

History: Lori grew up in a muggle neighborhood outside of London. Even so, they were well removed from their neighbors enough that they could use magic without fear of being seen. This includes flying on broomsticks as long as they didn't go above the treeline. A fact the two siblings took advantage of; Lori had flown since she was five under the careful supervision of her brother. She is a natural born seeker.

For most of her life, Lori was raised by her older brother Davis and her neighbor due to both of her parents working long shifts at odd hours. However, if for whatever reason nobody could look after Lori, they would take her to work with them. As such, she has picked up the skill set of being able to find out any type of information she wants.

Davis would always read her comic books at night, however, when he realized that she was beginning to try to emulate the superheroes in the comic books he got worried and stopped, instead reading her history books (both muggle and magical.) However, that didn't do much to deter her; she could see the heroes of history and only further solidified her desire to be a fighter for justice.

She would fight with neighborhood and school bullies, earning her a problem child status at school right from the start.

During a summer when she was six, a crackhead her father had put away got out of jail and came to their house in order to get even with them. Only Lori and Davis was home, but the crackhead only saw Lori and figured that killing Lori would be even better revenge.

She managed to live because her brother (who was enrolled at Hogwarts during this time) used Expelliarmus and managed to disarm and put down the would be murderer. However, not before he gave Lori the scar you see under her eye.

Lori was shaken by the incident; she felt weak and powerless and made it her goal that she would never be that weak and powerless again.

Family:
Father: James. Muggle. He is a private detective.

Mother: Erin. Witch. She went to Hogwarts and was Head Girl of Ravenclaw. She is the editor of the Daily Prophet, so Lori is privy to the latest wizard news.

Brother: Davis. Half-blood wizard. Head Boy of Gryffindor, Seeker and Captain of the Quidditch Team. He graduated from Hogwarts three years before Lori entered third of his class and is a Curse Breaker, although a lot of Quidditch Teams wanted him to play for them. Even though her parents tell Lori to be her own person, she feels small in her brother's shadow.

House: Slytherin

Blood Status: Pure-blood

Appearance: Audrey is on the short side with white skin and freckles scattered across her nose. Her natural hair color is a light brown, but after her tenth birthday she decided double digits meant a need for change. She “borrowed” some money from her mother's mattress and bought herself some green hair dye. Though her mother was furious at her, it was soon forgotten after a certain incident explained below. As a child Audrey wares anything that could get dirty with no dire consequences. As she gets older this will change to be less about convenience and more about punk appeal. In school Audrey always remember to hold her robes up before stepping into a pool of mud, though as she gets older she will have to remember to remove the boots and stockings first.

Belongings: Nothing at the moment.

Familiar: Puck – a pooka that takes the form of a black-footed ferret. Being a pooka he has the ability to speak, as well as take the form of other beasts. (He does not gain any of the magical abilities of the beast should they have any. For example, if he were to turn into a dragon he would be unable to breathe fire.) He is also an old animal and has worked along side a few great wizards, collecting an extensive knowledge of magic. Although he may seem the perfect companion, he is still a pooka and as such he loves mischief. Pulling pranks is favorite hobby, and as a consequence Audrey often gets the blame for whatever stunt he manages to pull off. He is a jerk for lack of a better description, but he has a soft spot for Audrey. This does not mean she is immune to his pranks, however. If anyone asks, he's a jarvey.

Best subject: Care of Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, Potions (This only includes potions with medicinal purposes. Any potion without a medicinal purpose she has no experience in and would be in the same boat as everyone else.)
Worst subject: Charms, Flying, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts

Strengths: Audrey is an intelligent, willful, and powerful little witch. She is also accompanied by Puck, who is a powerful little pooka.
Weaknesses: Audrey cannot cast magic by normal means and because of this she studies alternative magic. Though she has great potential, she has to grow into it. She is not a physical person and lacks strength and dexterity. It also doesn't take a lot to make her cry.

Fears: The inability to move and sociopaths. Her fear of being unable to move has fed into a fear of tight spaces.
Boggart: A sociopath carrying a straight jacket.

Personality: For the most part Audrey is an introvert girl. She likes to keep to herself and has a hard time interacting with other people. This goes away the more she gets to trust someone. Anyone who reaches this point will see the cheerful, fun loving girl she keeps hidden. Due to the unfortunate experiences with her peers she prefers to be surrounded by animals rather than people. It is not uncommon for her to be outside, barefoot, and feeding a flock of wild birds.

History: Audrey was raised from birth by her mother, Laurette Almer. Her parents were never married, and although she knows who her father is she has yet to meet him in person. The only memento she has from him is Puck, whom he abandoned at the same time he left Laurette.

Puck was by no means happy with this turn of events and made his dissatisfaction well known to Laurette. She did her best to be understanding to the pooka's unhappiness, but once Audrey was born she was on a short fuse with his shenanigans. After one unfortunate accident where a knife was thrown at the pooka's head and almost cut off an ear he quieted down. He never spoke around Audrey at Laurette's request.

Laurette makes her living by running an apothecary. She is brilliant in the subjects of agriculture and potion brewing so she is able to sell effective alternative medicine for cheap. In a small town, cheap sells well. Audrey grew up helping her mother by tending the garden and stirring potions, but she never had the same interest in plants as her mother has.

Audrey was a shy child and found comfort in being around animals. As she came home from school she would stop in front of every wild animal she saw and recite the events of her day to them. Her school mates found this strange and made her an outcast because of it. It bothered Audrey, but the worse they teased her the more she had to say to the animals.

One day after Audrey turned 10 years old, her classmates decided to pull a prank on her and told her there was a bear roaming around in the woods just outside of the town. Having never seen a bear in person, Audrey wanted to go see it. Her classmates lead her out into the woods and once satisfied she would not be able to find her way out, someone pushed her into the mud and they all ran away before she could follow. Audrey was lost, and scared, and cold. After some wondering around she collapsed under a tree and began to cry.

Audrey was startled by something nudging her shoulder and when she looked up she saw an unusual looking animal. It had the face of a dragon, the body of a deer, and scales covered its body. It had a calming presences and at once Audrey felt no more fear. She stood up and followed the animal out of the woods where her mother was waiting with open arms.

Being caught up in hugs and kisses Audrey did not get to see the animal leave, but she asked her mother about it anyway. This was the first time her mother told her daughter about the magical world. A year later she received her letter to Hogwarts.

Family: Both of Audrey's parents came from well to do, pure-blood wizard families. During their time in Hogwarts they were both relatively popular and excelled in their different areas of study. Since graduating, Laurette gave up her birthright to help the struggling muggle town she is a resident of now and Lattimer has given up his studies in favor of traveling and enjoying the higher things in life.
Mother: Laurette Almer – Was a Gryffindor, now owns an apothecary in the muggle world.
Father: Lattimer Michalski – Was a Ravenclaw, now is a businessman working in both the muggle and wizard world.

Patronous: Large Bird, no particular species

Appearance: Average in height, Albert has dark, matted hair which he attempts to comb into place often and paler then average skin. His blue eyes are small and beady, always moving from place to place. He wears the school uniform in its entirety, every button buttoned and every crease rolled out. When he dresses in more "Muggle" attire he wears a long tailed overcoat and hunting boots, although he rarely goes outside.

Belongings: An assortment of charms and talisman, most of which he keeps in highly organized compartments in his luggage. A copy of Fantastic Creatures and Where to Find Them, circa 1923. A small handfilled notebook organizing and categorizing every incident he has had involving the Grim since he was eight.

Best subject: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination
Worst subject: Charms, Transfiguration

Strengths: Fast, attentive, knows almost everything there is to know about basic defensive magic, though he is unsure of how to use this knowledge effectively.
Weaknesses: Incredibly paranoid when frightened, jumpy, mild OCD. Tired often from lack of sleep.

Fears: The Grim, large dogs, ravens and crows, skulls, his older sister, moonless nights.
Boggart: The Grim

Personality: Jumpy and nervous, Albert is often found looking over his shoulder or around corners. He has the compulsion to clean and tidy things, although he often restrains it, only along himself to correct his own appearance and belongings. He tries to get along with others, but if you get on his bad side he will not hesitate to cut you down a notch. He gets angry at people who lie, and the only surefire way to get him angry is to accuse him of doing something he didn't do.

History: Albert was born in Dartmoor, England, in his family's ancestoral home just outside a small Muggle community. Descended from a long line of wizards on his mother's side, Albert was raised surrounded by magic. Despite their being many non-magical children living close by, Albert was not allowed to see them by his mother, who prefered he associate with "his own kind."

At the age of six, Albert got into an arguement with a girl that lived nearby, who happened to be a muggle. He went home, and shortly afterward someone attacked the girl with a spell. Albert pleaded innocence, but his sister Liz told his parents she'd seen him do it. Al still feels guilt for what happened to the girl, and has serious issues with lying.

When he turned eight, on his birthday, he took his father's Comet 120 out for a night ride. It was a moonless night, and while he looked at the ground to make sure he didn't fail he saw a large, dark shape staring up at him with gleaming red eyes. Panicing, he crashed the broom and ran for the house.

Ever since then he's been paranoid, trying to figure out why he saw the large black dog and what it meant. Writing every incident in a notebook, he read as many books as he could trying to find out what it was. Eventually he found out about The Grim, a large spectral dog that meant sure death for whoever saw it. Certain what he saw was The Grim, he only began to panic more.

Family: Al has one sister, Liz. His father's name is Albert as well, although he usually goes by "Bert". He works as a defense attorney for magical crimes. His mother's name is Annabel. She heads the magical community of Dartmoor, which eats up most of her time. He's related distantly to most of the people in the Dartmoor magical community, but only a few of them are actually considered family members. His Uncle on his Mother's side resides in London, working as a profesional duelist. He has no other living immediate relatives, although he has a close relationship with an older relative who who calls "Grandma."

Everyone in his family went to Hogwarts except for his Uncle, who went to Durmstrang. For as long as the family records show, his father's side have all been Ravenclaws and his Mother's side Slytherins.

Appearance: Ebony has long black hair with purple streaks and red tips. Her eyes are icy blue (but later change to crimson red for no explained reason), and apparently she looks like Amy Lee the singer from Evanescence. She's a vampire and a witch. (A vitch or a wampire?) She is also “goffic” and wears black clothing. For example, in her first appearance she will be debuting a black corset with matching lace, a black leather miniskirt, pink fishnet stockings and black combat boots. She will also be wearing an atrocious amount of white foundation, black lipstick, black eyeliner, and red eye shadow. For some reason she will not be required to wear her robes around Hogwarts as she is too sexy and goffic to worry about such trivial matters.

Belongings: Goffic stuff.

Best subject: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination
Worst subject: Transfiguration, Charms

Strengths: She's goffic, and a vampire, and a Satanist, and she's sexy, and she can sing, and she can play guitar, and she is in two bands! Also, for some reason she is the only one who can go back in time and kill Voldemort.
Weaknesses: She's just too sexy, and smart, and perfect! Why couldn't Satan have made her a normal, ugly person?

Boggart: A prep offering her a free membership to a tanning salon

Personality: Ebony is goffic, and sadistic, and a Satanist. She probably does not know what any of that means because she is trying too hard to fit into a stereotype. Of course it could be said that her existence is nothing more than a joke, but wouldn't that just fuel her depression? Let's be honest, she is a caring, sensitive, beautiful little girl who really needs to invest in a dictionary.

History: Her parents met while they were Slytherin students at Hogwarts. They did the deed and had a sexy vampire baby, whom they named Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way. (The story behind her name is a beautiful one; allow me to share: It was a dark and storming night, and her mother gave one last push before collapsing in exhaustion. The doctor handed over the new born baby to her father, who remarked on her long ebony hair. Just then the power went out because the hospital had forgot to pay its electric bill and their building was being repossessed. A repo man came into their room to inform them they must vacate the premises least their new born vampire baby become government property, and as he spoke her mother's father – who suffered from dementia – had a real bad flashback to the bumblebee who wouldn't leave him alone the Thursday before then. He swung his arms wildly in the air, screaming and stumbling around until he came into contact with the repo man and slapped him to death. Because they did not want to be held accountable, the father teleported everyone back to his house (which sat on the street Raven Way) by means of a random convertible that can fly and travel through time some how.)

Then some stuff happened and now she's going to Hogwarts!

Family: There's her dad, Blue Dim Dyslexia Lighthouse the third, and her mother, Mary Sue. Her mother's father, Count Chocula, also lives with them. They're a wealthy family who are all vampires and goffics.

No problem! You should have heard me giggling when I was getting towards the end. Count Chocula? Hi-lar-i-ous at 4AM.

But as a side note anyone who decides to use her must remove half their brain and drink a glass of bleach before writing her dialogue. This is the only way to capture her sophisticated speech patterns. Also, she has to do every action "sexy" like. After all she cannot emphasize enough how much of a sexy vampire goff she is!

Familiar: Striped Black and White Cat named Ella. He believes her to be lazy and passive to a fault and has, as of yet, found no reason to believe otherwise.
Patronous: Bear

Appearance: A boy of about average height for his age, Derrick has a slightly pale complexion with dark green-brown eyes and a head of messy ash brown hair that is constantly swept back as though he was caught in a strong wind. He wears the standard school uniform though pays little attention to the details of it and keeps his robe open. His muggle clothing consists of loose jeans and plain t-shirts in an assortment of bright colors though he tends to favor yellow as well as an old pair of white sneakers.

Belongings: Muggle clothing including an unnecessarily large amount of bright shirts and a small notepad that he keeps to himself and writes in at least once a day.

Best subject: Muggle Studies, Herbology
Worst subject: Potions, Charms

Strengths: Willing to try anything at least once and is very determined to succeed once he sets his mind on something, easily blends into Muggle society, incredibly brave (see Stupid and Brash)
Weaknesses: A severe tendency to bite off more than he can chew and to attempt things far beyond him. He takes things very seriously and often to a incredible point of exaggeration leading most to think he is just goofing off.

Fears: Failing as a wizard, anything remotely spider-like

Personality: Derrick is an incredibly determined person who has since learning of their existence, always had a complete exaggeration of what a wizard is which few could ever hold a candle to. As such he is persistently disappointed when he meets anyone who is considered a great witch or wizard of their time. He attempts to meet his own image of a wizard and constantly gets in over his head do to his brash and enthusiastic nature. He is very slow to anger as he is usually too focused on what he’s going to try next to give much more than a comeback to any remark made his way. Though he looks as though he doesn’t pay attention he is often thinking quite hard, just often not about the subject at hand. He is incredibly social and tries his best to impress everyone around him.

History: Born into a Muggle family Derrick’s early childhood was fairly typical. He made friends with most of the children of his neighbourhood and was quick to become the appointed leader and was more or less responsible for much of the trouble they got into.

Though a trouble maker, Derrick’s parents did very little to dissuade him, believing he meant well and not having the time to reprimand him anyway as they ran their own small restaurant. Derrick had his first experience with magic at age 7 when he lit his kitchen on fire without being anywhere near the stove or matches. His parents at the time believed the house to be faulty and promptly moved to a small apartment complex while maintaining their business.

Losing most of his friends Derrick was rather alone until he received his letter thus beginning his outright fascination with magic.

Family: Both Muggles and owners of a small restaurant, his mother Alexandra and his father Brian though he doesn’t get to see them as often as he’d like because of their heavy work schedule.

Wand: 11 ½ inch, willow, unicorn hair
Familiar: Talon, a cat, named ironically for her unusually short claws. She is a Calico cat, with a tortoiseshell pattern of black and light brown, but predominately white. Her eyes are deep brown and she likes to nibble on fingers.
Patronous: Ocelot.

Appearance: Matty is a pretty brunette girl who is somewhere between short and average height. She tends to wear band t-shirts and tightish blue jean shorts. These are her muggle clothes. She takes great care to wear her school robes properly and tries her best to keep them as clean and neat as possible to maintain her appearance, although she can barely afford them and they are in fact used. Her robes are sort of faded black, faded from use, that is. Her hair is shoulder-length and she wears it down most of the time. Her eyes are brown and slightly large.

Belongings: Her guitar and violin. She also has sheet music, various flashy outfits, and lots of random jewelry that her mother gave her.

Best subject: Potions. For some reason, Matty seems to have a knack for it. Charms.
Worst subject: Herbology, History of Magic, Flying.

Strengths: Matty is somewhat of a musical prodigy. She can play both the guitar and violin. Also, she has an amazing voice. Matty is very good at spells. While she isn’t the most powerful witch out there, she definitely is able to pick up new spells quickly and master them quicker than her peers. She is also good at Potions, but that’s mostly pure dumb luck. She is very smart and is able to make friends easily.
Weaknesses: Matty can’t fly worth beans. Anything to do with brooms is her kryptonite. She is also a little too arrogant about her talents for her own good.

Fears: Puppies, because a puppy bit her when she was 2. She is also afraid of sharks and spiders.
Boggart: A Puppy.

Personality: Matty has a very outgoing and magnetic personality. Practically everyone who meets her is drawn to her. She is very popular and can fit into basically any social situation. She enjoys being the center of attention and generally has lots of people around her. Her musical abilities are her pride and joy; however, she is also very arrogant about her talents when they are brought up and tends to brag a little too much. She loves music and it’s basically all she’s interested in, although she enjoys writing lyrics to songs as well. Her friendships tend to be very shallow and she has very few people she can share her true feelings with. She is very fun and silly and has a carefree attitude. While she is very girly on the outside, Matty can also be kind of boyish, especially in her sense of humor, the influence of growing up with three older brothers and occasionally likes to cause mischief, the influence of her brother Wilfred.

History: Matty was born and raised in Liverpool, England. She has three older brothers, but is the only magically inclined member of her family. At the age of four, she began playing the violin at her mother’s insistence and she began learning to play the guitar at age seven. Her dream is to play guitar/sing in a rock band. Her parents have always been supportive of her talents and dreams, since they realize how talented she is. She is also very close with her grandfather, Edmund Blackadder, who was a Captain of the British army in World War 1 and he frequently tells her tales of the battlefront. The only member of Matty’s family to go to Hogwarts was her great-great-great-great-great grandfather Edward Blackadder in the 1700s. Her family is thrilled, albeit slightly confused, that she is a witch.

Matty first discovered her magical abilities when she was playing her violin and made it float in the air at the age of five. Her family was frightened by her magic at first, but they learned to accept it. However, her parents forbid her to use magic in any public situations as not to draw unwanted attention to their family.

Her mother and her brothers mostly raised her, as her father has a very tight work schedule at the bank.

Family:

Mother: Kelly. Muggle. She is a stay-at-home mom.
Father: Theodore. Muggle. He is a banker at the largest bank in Liverpool.
Brothers (from oldest to youngest):
-Eddy. He is solemn and quiet most of the time. Ted thinks that he is a deep thinker, but Matty just thinks he’s stupid. He frowns upon the mischievous going-ons of Wil, James and Matty.
-Wilfred. He is wild and always getting into trouble, even dragging Matty into his troublemaking sometimes. Matty is closest to Wil out of her three brothers.
-James. He is polite and semi-shy around most people, but Wil generally coaxes him into trouble when he can and then uses him as a scapegoat, giving James an undeserved reputation as a troublemaker.

Twi; as I have mentioned in the PM how does she wear her wizard robes? What do they look like? (aka how rich is her family). Also her strengths and weakness contadict itself; spells are memory based. Also, she wouldn't be able to experiment with it because she wouldnt know how to call it forth.

Okay, I have some NPCs to post. These are two of the four NPCs that are going to be in Matty's Band (Acio Aquatis). Here are the members of Acio Aquatis:

Familiar: A great horned owl named Zavier. Zavier is feisty, but doesn’t like delivering mail, opting to shred it up instead.
Patronus: Black Bear

Appearance: Kind of tall with straight black hair and sharp blue eyes. He is naturally muscular and has long legs. He wears his robes very casually, leaving them messy and open most of the time. His robes are new, but tend to smell of socks.

Belongings: His bass, which he uses magic to amplify. He also has a deck of playing cards, as he’s fond of poker.

Best Subject: Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures
Worst Subject: Potions, Herbology

Strengths: He is great at transfiguration, specifically transforming things into animals, and he’s also gifted with animals in general. Also, he’s very good at playing bass.
Weaknesses: He can’t make a potion to save his life, nor has he any talent with plants of any kind.

Fears: Needles, and other sharp cutting objects.
Boggart: A giant needle.

Personality: He’s very outgoing and confident in himself. He’s brave for the most part, except when faced with sharp metal objects. He can be somewhat of a trickster and enjoys pulling pranks on people. He also plays bass in Acio Aquatis (Matty’s band) and has a slight crush on Matty.

History: Nial grew up in Liverpool as well and even went to the same school as Matty, but they didn’t talk much. He is an only child and has always had a fondness for animals. Nial has been playing bass since he was nine and has become quite good, but music doesn’t define his life like it defines Matty’s life. It’s mostly just a hobby for him. His parents are both wizards and they both work running a broom shop, but they try to spend as much time with him as possible. His parents would frequently let him help out at the broom shop, mostly stocking supplies though. Ironically, he is very mediocre on a broomstick. He discovered his magical talents when he was seven and his parents wouldn’t buy him a puppy, so he ended up accidentally transforming a flower into a frog. It was quite shocking for him.

-Mother: Juliet, helps Henry run the broom shop.

Well my major thing is the serial murder. Right now the first wizard war is going on. Nial has EVERY right in being afraid of serial murders. In addition, why would he, a pure blood, be afraid of the Zodiac killer? In addition please have each of the NPCs in their own post; this way I can link them back here.
