Shaun nodded.
"I'll just... I'll just go to bed early tonight. See you tomorrow Matt."

Shaun walked away, leaving his plate of untouched roast beef and potatoes.

Lori was quiet for several more minutes before speaking up again.

"I'm going to go tell Al we have detention at 10 p.m.," she said quietly, shoving her hands in her pocket. "I'll be right back."

Making her way over to the Ravenclaw table, she passed Shaun who was leaving. The downcast expression he made her realize the younger boy had been told the word. She wanted to say something, but he didn't see her. She would just talk to him tomorrow.

Stopping behind Matt and Al, she tapped Al on the shoulder.

"Hey Al," she said quietly. "Can I talk to you for a bit?"

Matt yelled after Shaun.

"HEY! WAIT UP, MATE! I...I...I don't know what...I'm sorry, mate..." Matt petered out into a whisper. He stared into his mashed potatoes, suddenly not hungry at all. He felt like tearing the world apart. Ignoring everyone else in the room, he just stared silently at his potatoes, trying to maintain his composure. After God knows how long, Matt finally looked around and saw that it was almost dark. Silently, he walked up to Ravenclaw Tower and attempted to sleep.

Matt lay awake, unable to sleep. The words he said kept echoing in his head. Unlike me, everyone likes you...unlike me...what am I doing wrong? Why...why does everyone hate me? I'm just trying to be funny...yeah I have a temper, but that's...that's not that big a deal, right? Just...so many people...why? That Lori...she hates me the most...it's going to be humilating, but...I should ask her what I'm doing wrong. Oh, pissing blimey, this is going to be hard...

OoC: What say we advance a day?

After explaining to Al that they had detention at 10 p.m., she made her way back to the table where Audrey and Cassandra were waiting.

Upon arriving, she started to eat much to the relief of everyone present; she may be angry at herself, but she needed her food.

Around 9:45 p.m., the four of them made their way outside to where Slughorn was waiting impatiently for them to arrive. Upon seeing the four miscreants, he sighed.

"Glad to see you are all are here," he said looking around at the four. Upon noticing Lori's flying goggles were cracked (still), he frowned and took out his wand. With a muttered "repario" the cracked lenses became good as new.

Ignoring Lori's look on her face which clearly was saying "what sorcery is this," he gave the four students a piece of paper. "We are looking for these ingredients, some of which can only be found deep in the forest. Accompanying us so we don't get lost is the groundskeeper Hagrid."

Lori looked around, a bit confused. She didn't see anyone.

"He's not here yet," Slughorn explained with a sigh.

ooc: Al, Audrey, Lori and Cassandra all have detention. We just need to get through that real quick.

OoC: Forgot about that!

ooc: Noes! It won't take that long.

The group headed towards the Forbidden Forest, Prof. Slughorn leading the way. When the reached the edge they were greeted by a giant, grizzly man with a dog and an old barn lantern.

"Hello, Hagrid! Hello Fang!" Prof. Slughorn said as he gave the old dog a few gentle pats. "These are all the students that will be accompanying us this evening. Shall we be heading in?"

Hagrid nodded and pointed towards the forest with his head. "This way. Be careful where you step, nasty little buggers like to creep around at night."

Cassandra and Al were paying close attention to their steps with a worried expression on their face. Lori was walking ahead of the group, showing her lack of fear, and Audrey was busy scratching Fang's head.

"Alright, we need to get Chickweed - which looks like this." He pulls out a plant with a huff and presents it to the rest of the group. "They grow bigger the farther in the forest we go, so ignore these little twigs as we need a lot to carry back. The Hospital Wing needs more after a couple of students - who shall remain nameless - blew up a certain room - which will remain nameless." He gave a grin and wink before turning back to follow Hagrid.

"You mean other students blew up a different room?!" Lori exclaimed in shock. Why didn't she hear about this?! She could feel everyone staring at her. "What?"

"I cannot put into words," Cassandra muttered as she made her way carefully around protruding trucks.

After what seemed like an eternity of walking, Prof. Slughorn stopped in front of some large bushes. "This looks to be a good size. You may spread out, but always check that you can see Hagrid's light." He bent down and began tugging at the plant.

The students spread out some ways and stay pulling at whatever they think is chickweed.

After a little bit screams could be heard from inside the thicket. Al comes bounding out. "Spiders!"

"Pft, spiders? They're tiny hun, just squish them." Cassandra shook her head at the boy.

"Huuuuuge spiders!" Al corrects himself.

Lori puffs out her chest and begins to walk towards the thicket. She speaks in a deep voice, "Fear not, I shall save you!"

All seemed to be going good until Audrey spots a little glimmer in the darkness. "Oh! A butterfly! How strange it would be out at this time of night."

Lori's march stops. She turns slowly to reveal a face of pure terror. "A b-butterfly?"

Audrey nods. "Yes. Be careful, it landed on your back!"

A quick intake of air and Lori takes off screaming. "Get it off! Get it off! Get it off! It is the spawn of Satan!" She continues on through until Fang tackles her to the ground, mistaking the chase for a game. The butterfly flutters away unharmed.

Hagrid and Slughorn upon hearing the screaming rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they noticed Lori running around in circles screaming her head off about "the spawn of Satan" and "don't be fooled by their colors, its a ruse." Al, on the other hand, was screaming about giant spiders. Cassandra and Audrey were standing in the middle of the two holding armfuls of Chickweed.

"I was going to have Al and Lori go through a quick remedial potions after this, but I'll just have them come to class a half an hour early for a crash course on how not to blow up the dungeon," Slughorn mused.

"We should probably get them back," Hagrid agreed. "They might scare away the giant spiders."

"Yes," Slughorn muttered. "God forbid we do that."

The two adults (after convincing Al and Lori that the butterfly and the giant spider was not out to 'destroy them all') the group headed back to the building.

"Now Al and Lori," Slughorn told the two. "You two need to come to Potions a half an hour early, so I can instruct you not to blow up the classroom. We moved it to the dungeons, and its supposed to be fireproof, but I'm not sure I want to take the chances."

"Wouldn't it be easier to separate them as partners?" Cassandra asked. Slughorn looked like she grew an extra head.

"Now my dear, that's just ridiculous. Now shoo and get to bed." Leaving the four students alone in the corridor, Cassandra could only gape at his retreating back.

It wasn't until Al suggested they go to bed the four go their separate ways (Al to the Ravenclaw Tower, Audrey to the dungeons and Lori and Cassandra to the Gryffindor Tower) getting ready for whatever Wednesday may hold.

ooc: I just realized first period everyone has Potions.

This is going to be hilarious.

Also, Slytherians have Herbology fourth period.

Audrey woke up unsure of her opinion of the day. It would be long, but most of her classes were something she had some type of experience in - except transfiguration. On her way to the new potions room she tried to think of practical purposes for teaching students such a skill. When she got to "turning water into wine" she burst out a snort.

Lori, being dragged out bed by Cassandra once again, walked to Potions class her hands filled with food to begin remedial Potions with Al. Noticing Audrey in front of her chuckling to herself, she tried yelling out to her.

Unfortunately for Al, Lori being the glutton she was was eating some sausage links and sprayed half of what was on her mouth on him.

ooc: I feel kind of bad for dragging Al around.

Shaun woke up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He had hardly gotten any sleep the other night and he was exhausted. He got out of bed, got dressed, and walked to the great hall.
After grabbing a few orange slices and a small goblet of pumpkin juice (he didn't feel like much else), he walked to potions and found an empty seat.
To his surprise, Al, Lori, and Audrey were all there as well.

Lori and Al were being taught by Prof. Slughorn that, no, cooking and potion making was not the same thing when Shaun walked in. Lori grinned and waved, realizing that today was going to have all the houses together for Potions first period.

"Listen!" Prof. Slughorn insisted, bringing Lori's attention back to the matter. "Now tell me what you've learned."

"That potions is not cooking," Lori listed with a monotone voice.

"And?"

"That combining ingredients and steps does not save time," Al concluded.

"Good," Slughorn said with a gleeful clap. "We are making progress. I think we will be good for the rest of the semester."

Audrey is reading a book.

For lack of a better option, Shaun found a seat near the front next to Audrey (who was reading a book).

Audrey glances at Shaun, then back to her book. She spends some time mulling over Lori's comment on the train, and decides she would give it a shot. "Hello," her voice was uneven, but she was smiling, "I'm Audrey."

Shaun smiled. "I'm Shaun. It's nice to meet you Audrey."
He looked down at her book.
"What are you reading about?"

"Uh - As You Like It. It's a play by William Shakespeare." Audrey stiffened a bit. She did not know how well wizards and witches would take to Muggle literature.
