Post-Apocalyptic RP Interest Check/Info.

So

I wanna see what the interest for a post-apoc. RP is. Mainly because I would just go make one but want to see if anyone would be interested before I put all my time and effort into it...

Anyways, I'm thinking either a nuclear war (ala Fallout) or a zombie plague (ala World War Z), but I'm open to any other ideas as o this moment.

So if you'd be interested in it, just lemme know, if you have ideas for what caused the apocalypse in it I'm open to them before I pour effort into making the actual thing.

So... yeah. If there's interest I'll make this into the sign-up thread and just recycle it for that. Cos making new threads for just one thing bugs me. I'm not used to that.

Sounds cool. I'm in. A post apocalyptic zombie RP would be cool, but so would a post apocalyptic struggle for survival (humans against humans)

If we go with a zombie one, I'm kind of thinking it also involving nukes. I actually DO have a really developed (But still a WIP) post-zombie world in development that involves some nuclear bombings, and several cities competing for power, nations forming, etc...

So yeah, regardless of what I do, it'll most likely have human vs. human fighting as well as human vs. whatever-else-there-is fighting.

I'm kinda leaning towards zombie right now though, since it'd be easier for me to world build something for the RP.

Zombies are cool. I like the idea of different cities fighting for power.

I'm already in 2 of these but this seems cool. If the startup thread piques my interest enough I'll join.

So I have some details now, nothing 100% for sure as of this moment. I'm thinking in what is currently Nebraska/Kansas 4 years after the outbreak, with zombies still walking about. The major players in the area are:

The Chicago Kingdom, which is basically Rome but situated in Chicago (or, rather, New Chicago. Old Chicago got destroyed by bombs to stop the infected) that spans from the Iowa-Nebraska border all the way to the east coast and Hudson Bay.

The Badlands Federation, situated in Rapid City, a slaver empire based in the fact that its city was relatively untouched, and they have a strong military with some ruthless leaders.

And New Central Canada, a republic from northern North Dakota up to almost the northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba borders.

There'll be local cities too, that'll probably play a big role in it.

As for the zombies, I'm taking them from my world building thing that the nations are also in, so we have Shamblers (think George Romero zombies), Runners (Common Infected from Left 4 Dead), Ragers (strong zombies, but not always bigger), and Banshees (flying zombies, probably were bats prior to the outbreak).

Any thoughts on it so far? Any ideas for a plot? I know there's something later on in the year 2030 that's big (a second outbreak) but I'm not sure if I want to have that be the main plot of the RP or not.

It's the basic idea for a game with a post-apocalyptic setting, I worked on it for months and it's pretty good from what 100% of people who read it have said.

An RP is, like... you act the role of a character in a story, and take turns telling the story. It's kind of like acting through typing I guess. Plenty of examples are all over this area~

But while that seems good, it's not really what I'm thinking for this, really. I'm thinking at least somewhat realistic, not using superpowers and such - that's just really not my thing...

I think I'll just go with zombies, though, since I have more work in that area than any others. I'll make a full-fledged information/sign ups thread this weekend!

Oh... you mean like an MORPG?

That makes this idea even more kickass!!

So, you start off as a villager or something, then you travel out and get more points and stuff so you can get stronger and whatnot.

An ONLINE game where you dodge bullets! Not only that, but your chances against an opponent would depend on skill so even if you're a low level you'd still have a chance against a high level if you're really good.
Plus, having all the abilities I had in mind, (which have similar effects like Zelda items and Touhou bullet patterns), it'd make the game even more worth the time!

There are no levels to be gained. And you can start out wherever, theoretically with most of your belongings and some experience with certain things. Like, my character Bob is good at identifying edible plants and the such.

Anymahow, I would be interested in an Apocalyptic RP. Of course, I am going to grill you on all the details, America

You, me, sometime before I post the detail thread, you grill me on all the stuff for it. Agreed?

Also, if you wanted you could make it points. That'd be a really interesting thing actually.

Also a bit more information on what I'm thinking for the plot:

You'd start in the area of what was eastern Nebraska, a few months prior to the Second Plague (the game might go on into that if it goes well) when the Chicago Kingdom is trying to expand west for more farmland, the local city-states of eastern/middle Nebraska banding together ala Ancient Greece when Persia invaded.

The Badlands Federation and New Central Canada would be involved somewhat, I'm thinking that the NCC would be against a violent invasion from Chicago into Nebraska, whereas the Badlands Federation would be wanting to split the area into two halves with Chicago so that they could get more land.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Any feedback?
