Re: Need help on Spanish
What do you like to do? - Qué es lo que te gusta hacer?
Alright, "Estoy": Yo (I) -Estoy Tu (You) - Estas El/Ella (He/She) - Esta Nosotros (We) - Estamos Ellos (They) - Estan Do you need this only in the Present Tense? Also, here is a nice spanish dictionary. It´s not complete but there are tons of things it can help you with (translation, conjunction, etc.). |

Re: Need help on Spanish
Just a little something to add - the tú, vosotros (spain), él/ella/Ud., and ellos forms of Estar have an accent mark on them.
Estar- to be Estoy - I am Estamos - We are Estás - you are Estáis - you are (talking to more than one person, used in Spain) Está - he/she/it is or you are (used for the formal form of you) Están - They are (or you are talking to more than one person) and another small thing to add: the other form of "to be" is ser. Ser is used generally for more permanent things (profession, race, etc) while estar is used for more temporary things (location, emotions, etc) Ser - to be Soy - I am Somos - we are Eres - you are Sois - you are (more than one person, Spain) Es - he/she/it is or you are (used for the formal form of you) Son - They are (or you are talking to more than one person) "What do you like to do?" could be translated "¿Qué te gusta hacer?" The way Hero of Legends translated it is perfectly fine as well. |

A little something extra: If you´d like to be a little more formal when asking you could say: ¿Que es lo que le gusta hacer? |

Another thread about Spanish? Oh, well. Anyway, don't be nervous about it. BTW, nice going guys. You must speak Spanish very fluently.

I read the OoT manga in spanish once, it's an easy/medium language to learn.

Re: Need help on Spanish
you could just say "te gusta hacer?" and it would be the vernacular (normal conversation-on-the-street) way to say it.
saying "Qué es lo que te gusta hacer?" is like saying "what is the thing that pleases you to do?" which would be silly. "te gusta hacer?" or "que te gusta hacer?" is just liek saying "what do you like to do?"

Re: Need help on Spanish
I say "¿Qué te gusta hacer?" is the best, for "¿Qué es lo que te gusta hacer?" sounds far too formal. Also, it doesn't make sense to be so formal and still use the "tú" form. It would thus become "¿Qué es lo que se gusta hacer?", but once again, I advise the simpler and somewhat friendlier version.
