Some Help with Canadian History

I need desperate help. I must find 4 Canadians who influenced Canadian history throughout the 1900's (1900-1999). So far I got Gretzky, but that's about it. I can't find anyone else. I can't use Trudeau because I already wrote about the October Crisis (which he was a big part of), and that woman activist who fought for women's right to vote is already out of the question. Any help will be appreciated.

And as a side note, I need to find information on the Creed Telegraph System. All I know is that it was invented in 1900, but that's it.

Re: Some Help with Canadian History

Quite a few Prime Ministers spring to mind (Lester B. Pearson, say.) or, if Wayne Gretzky counts, then David Suzuki probably does.

You also said "That woman activist..." well, there were five of them, in fact. Can you use any of the others?

What of the political leaders of Newfoundland when it became part of Canada?

How about Tommy Douglas?

Or William Lyon Mackenzie King?

Or perhaps Sir Frederick Banting? (A bit of a reach, I suppose, but still.)

I mean, really, there are tonnes of options, just look around a bit.

Re: Some Help with Canadian History

Thanks for the names. I've been looking for much too long, and nothing came up, so I'll read up on those people.

And just to clear up, is the Creed Telegraph System a Canadian invention?

Lucien Bouchard. Not always looked at as a positive influence, but a major influence none the less. What about comedians? People like Steve Smith (AKA Red Green), Rick Mercer, or the cast of Air Farce. There is also The Group of Seven, who well defined Northern Ontario.

Try the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney. There's a lot going on about him these days, so you can carry through, saying that he was influential in both the 1900's and today in the 2000's.

Who was the Governor General...he would have had an influence behind the scenes.
