Magnesium

I'm doing a poster on the element Mg(Magnesium). I need to make sure everything is being done properly. So does anyone know if I did my Bohr Rutherford diagrams correctly?

I believe that the way electron placement goes for the outer shells(with more than two) is actually two on top, two on the left, two on the right, two down.

Wolf is correct, although it is more pleasing to the eye the way you have it.

You might be told to pair up electrons by a teacher, although it's not really wrong if you dont, some of my lecturers prefer to have electrons as far away from eachother as possible. Just depends, there isn't really a definite way to do it.

I think that, which the politically corrent way is to do them in pairs, so long as you have the correct number of electrons in the outer shell, you'll do just fine.

Okay, thanks. I'll just leave it like that, my teacher shouldn't mind that much and I think I may have deleted the PSD anyways.
