Question Can you Punctuate This?

I got this bit of pointless trivia for homework yesterday, and it is doing my head in. You have to make this make sense using basic punctuation - , . ? ! and capital letters. Oh! and it has to be 4 sentences long:

that that is is that that is not is not that it it is

Reply if you've got it!!

In answer to your question, you have to make the sentence/quote/rambling at the end of the post make sense.
And thanks to Coheed And Cambria, it makes sense to me and I think there are a few different versions of it.

However I think I may have got it: That, that is, is that, that is not. Is not that it? It is!

But oh! It's only three sentences, well bummer that.

Re: Can you Punctuate This?

Eh? This is a weird thing, but I believe it would be punctuated as so:
That that is, is that that is not. Is not that it? It is.

And now I will re-write it, so you can see how I came to that conclusion:
What is, is what is not. Isn't it? It is.

Either way, the sentance doesn't really make much sense. What horrible writing. One should never (or at least hardly ever) repeat words one after another. Example: "that that."

Eewww...

Re: Can you Punctuate This?

Cal, the double that's is probably where commas come in handy. Also, your guess was only three sentences long. All I can tell you, shadowthief, is to go with Coheed and Cambria's guess. Makes most sense to me.

On a slightly different note...Unless you credit this site, aren't you plagiarizing if you go to school and claim you know the answer?

Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater...

A drumroll, please...

"That that is, is. That that is not, is not. That it? It is!"

:O

I think that's right... It's rather simple when you look at it that way, and would seem to go in line with a Parmenides-like explanation of the world.

That? That is, is that that? Is not - is not that it? It is!

That's the best I can do ^__^;

Re: Can you Punctuate This?

To DaBomb96,
Actually, I already had an answer when I posted.
I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same answer, so no, I was not plagiarizing.

Andi's right. I'm wrong, although I made a fairly educated guess. My guess made sense, but Andi's makes more sense. (expect for the very ending, "That is? It is!" I mean, 'cmon, what way to talk is that? I blame the sentance, though. Not you, Andi.) "Voila!

All hail the grammer master!

(Moonlight, you said the same thing I did. Freaky...)
