Computer Courses

I'm a 15 year old sophomore and next year I get to pick more classes that I want and put them into my schedule. I don't know if this is where I should put this question, but if theres a problem a mod can move it. Anyways, I want to take computer courses. Anything along the lines of computers, I am going to take it. My knowledge of computers is fairly adequate I suppose but I have a few questions. Should I buy a book, read it and study some stuff before I take the classes? I want to be ready for the class before I take it and I don't know what I should do. So my question to you all is, what should I do to prepare for this class, and anohter thing If you know of any good study books, give me their titles.

Re: Computer Courses

Well for starters, what class for computers are you going to take? I know that for my state/county there are many classes dedicated to computer learning. And diferent classes have different topics.

I am currently in what my school calls, Computer Science I. So far it is the history of how the modern computer became and more history junk but I am told that later it turns into more creating our own programs on the computer...
Another example I can give you is (what we call) " Software Applications I " that is more like what you might be thinking. I am told it is computer operations and the other junk that comes with the computer when you first get it. (ex. word processors)

After that there are like 10 others that my state offers and I will say now, you most likely don't want to overload on those classes. *watches a friend of mine who tried to do that*

I doubt that you need to do much to prepare for the classes really, going over the simple tequeniques that are done everyday is a good idea(which I doubt you need to learn. ex, typing, opening programs ) but really everything depends on the type of the class you want to do.

Re: Computer Courses

Whee, yet another class that my state offers. computer Programing and Teqniques.

But ethier way, I doubt that you will really have to read anything beforehand. Unless if you have been told before that there are some things that are expected at the begining that you can't do, then you really shouldn't have much to worry about. And I know that for us, if you go into a higher class you have to complete the prequisits or prequisit classes to be accepted.

You will be allowed into a class based on skills that you already have, not what you need to get suddenly before the class.
