Vocabulary
Summer has been great! ...But school is just around the corner, and you all know what that means. English! And where there's english, there's vocab quizzes! I'm not the best at memorizing vocab words (though I'm excellent with spelling). So, I was wondering if some of you could share studying strategies on the memorization of definitions of vocab words? Thanks! ^_^

Re: Vocabulary
What I always do is write the definitions down, and read over them a couple times. It's better than reading though a dictionary and remembering which page each def. is on. And you always have a source to look to during your spare time. (No cheating!)

Re: Vocabulary
Best way to practice is with friends. Use the words from the vocabulary lesson in conversations on the phone, at lunch, etc. It's better than reading them over and over again. Though, it is a good idea to do that before you start using them in real life conversation.

Re: Vocabulary
You can always try and find out what is your best way to study. For instance, I cannot sit down and memorize anything, I have to walk around for me to understand what I'm reading. Maybe your best at that too? I found this out on a quiz I took for school and I started walking around more and them *bam* I was passing all my tests and quizzes like that *snap*
. I wish I could remember the link ![]() |

Re: Vocabulary
Right each word about five times each, and then write one or two sentences for each word. That's what they always did to me with vocabulary.
