What is fruit called in japanese?

What is fruit called in japenese. I dont have a japanese dictionairy, and the online translator came up with crazy japanese signs, so I dont know how to say it. Does any of you know how its called, or a way to find out how its called?

I only know the plural form fruit(s)- kudamono

So I'm not sure what the singular is, that should be the correct way to say fruits in Japanese though

Fruit is kudamono, just like fruits.

Rule of thumb in Japanese is that the singular nown is identical to the plural like the english word moose, only with every word. In other words, there is no distinction between plural and singular in Japanese. Remember that! No distinction. So multipke feline friends are not nekos.
