Actually, in school, copying words and essays off the internet and giving a source is still considered plagiarism. Below, i'll give some examples of plagiarism.
- Downloading a document off the internet and handing it in. (This goes the same to people who read it and write down the exact words)
- Downloading or copying a document from the computer and giving a source.
- Copying out of a book
As you can probably understand by reading this short list of examples that plagiarism is anything that you do, that isn't in your own words, or in other words: copied.
Just as "thelosthero" stated quite a few posts back, the teachers now have a program either at home, or at school (depending on where they check the work), that you can use keys words to track down proven plagiarism, so any examples, and most likely more, that I listed would be considered plagiarism.
I, however, have never plagiarized in my life, even though I am lazy. I take the time to get a sharped pencil and write down my essay by hand, and mostly all the time, by what I remember. All of my essays or scripts have returned to me with phenomenal grade at the top.
What i'm saying is that plagiarizing can get you into serious trouble, and mess your your permenant records for life. Yes, plagiarism can be that serious at times, but mostly it depends on what you plagiarized on.
Instead of me continuing to ramble, i'll get it all rounded up into this, " Don't plagiarize, and just to let you know, there is absolutely
no excuse for plagiarizing whatsoever! Take the time to write out a hand-written, remembered or thought up story of the chosen topic. "
Take my advice, and you'll go far.
