History Help and Discussion
Dear intellectuals and other interested,
When I took history classes in school, I learned how to formulate myself in an academic way, with reason and breadth of view. I would like to offer my help, not for completing tasks or projects, but constructive guiding for people of all ages who would like to discuss history. It can be interpreting causes and consequences, the course of history, important eras and dates that have made a difference to the world or a specific case. I am myself a very eager history-reader, have taken classes in ancient/early history and modern history at second level school for two years now. I have learned how to write longer dissertations and historical essays, how to structure the content and create a logical coherence. I have also learned how to think possible causes for an event and possible consequences and understood the importance of gaining a historical imagination! No official deals have been made with the moderators of the forum about this help, but I hope they will approve. I will not write answers for anyone or give direct results. The one who asks me should explain what they know about the specific topic and any thoughts they might have so as to start a discussion that might help them shed light on a particular problem. I'd also like to help people find credible historical sources on the net! The fields that I have studied are mostly from European history. I'll make an outline here: - From farmer to peasent(including ancient civilisations) - Antiquity(ancient Greece and Rome and nearby areas) - The rise of Islam - Europe in the Middle Ages(papacy, monasteries, feudalism, development of cities, crusades, the Plague) - Renaissance(Italy, Reformation) - Europe meets the World(Constantinople, Portugal, Spain, Holland, Great Britain, international trade) - Enlightenment(scientific revolution) - The Great Revolutions(American, French and Russian) - The Industrial Revolution - The Viking Age from 800-1066 - Ideological history(the rise of democracy, nationalism, feminism, socialism, social-darwinism, conservativism and liberalism) and its effect on the integration and segregation of Europe! - Imperialism(search for raw material for trading and industry, Africa, Australia, Russian expansion, Japan and Asia) - First and Second World Wars - Communism and Social democracy - Capitalism and the world in crisis - Fascism, nazism and racism - West against East(the Cold War and the integration of Europe) - Europe after 1945(social development, the EU, the UN and NATO, resistance, consumption-mentality, youth uproar) In addition to this I have had a major project about Japan and China after 1945! It was very exciting, but I would like to learn more about these two countries! Discussion and information is most welcome! From the amateur historian Mrs Ganondorf

Re: History Help and Discussion
The rise of Islam is undoubtedly an interesting subject, and I don't know that much about it. If you'd like to discuss it, I'd be happy to listen to what you have to say, and any resources you can provide me with.
I've become more interested in history lately (I'm in Junior year right now). Type away Mrs. Ganondorf. ![]() I'll think about discussion a bit later on when I know more about it (that sounds like a good idea).

Re: History Help and Discussion
My intention is to aid those who study anything related to a topic in the list I posted, but discussions should be with those who prepare for tests and have projects about it, or bigger exams for that matter. If you are in that situation I will be glad to help as best as I can. Please remember that my knowledge is limited, I am not a professional. Just a volunteer with a passion for history!
