Re: Inequalities
here are a few examples
x + 2 < 3 you just subtract 2 from each side -2 -2 x < 1 -3x + 7 > -14 -7 -7 subtract 7 from both sides -3x > -21 divide both sides by negative 3 x<7 you can also think of it this way... -3x > -21 +3x > +3x add 3x to both sides 0 > -21 + 3x +21 +21 add 21 to both sides 21 > 3x divide by three 7>x or you can write it x<7 do you see why you change the inequality's sign if you divide by a negative...its the same thing as adding it to both sides and then dividing...

Re: Inequalities
That's odd. now i'm confused. And dragon death. Give him a break man. he just came for a little help, which i might be doing since i got a C in math this quarter, and a B- and N last quarter.
but inequalities are easy once you start to understand it. I learned them last year (7th. i'm in 8th now).Lemme try to explain it real quick. Here's an equation: 7x - 24 > -3 Step 1: add 24 to both sides: 7x-24(+24)>-3(+24) this cancels the 24 on the left. Step 2: the new equation is 7x > 21. divide both sides by 7. 7x/7 > 21/7. this cances the 7 from the left. Step 3: simplify: x > 3. And that my friend, is how the magic is done. Although math is my worst subject (not to mention i hate it), these problems will stay with me forever... *sighs*
