need some tips on writeing a pressusave reasearch paper

does anyone have any tips on writeing a pressausave reaserch paper i need to do good on it or i lose my zelda games

What's it supposed to be on? It'd be easier to give specific tips if we had a subject to start with.

Also, what grade you're in, how long the paper is required to be, and how many sources you're supposed to have would be helpful. And, it's persuasive.

Persuasive writing:

Repetition: this makes the reader not forget what is being said.

Personal Pronowns: Use words like us and we to make the reader feel like there are many people with this opinion.

Personalised Argument: Such as billy excels in sport but not maths, you take sport away... ect ect.

Just keep them in mind, i can't help you anymore really sorry.

An introduction that grabs the reader, something dramatic, like quotes or percentages. remember to use your 2nd to last paragraph to show the opposite point of view to your's and the to close the paper, summarize your whole paper and leave the reader with something interesting to think about.

threats do nicely..... just kidding. figure that youre persuading yourself.... what would persuade you to do ...... whatever it is youre persuading someone to do. ask yourself that and write down what ya get

~Learn to spell. Hate to be harsh, but you'll have a hard time convincing anyone with spelling as atrocious as that.
~Make sure you state the view you're advocating as soon as possible. Don't dick around - get right to the point.
~Support your stance with facts, cite your sources if necessary.

And as with most writing:
~Vary your syntax for a more interesting paper.
~Have a strong control of the English language.


And, I dunno ... stuff. Didn't you get a packet from your teacher giving you good techniques and strategies to use in persuasive papers? I have one somewhere, though I can't be arsed to look for it.

If you're creating something along the lines of a feature article, the most common things to include are these:

- Statistics (if you're arguing and it involves a real event)
- Rhetorics (Statements and/or Questions)
- Anecdotes (Personal stories to bring the issue to a more identifyable level)
- Use of your gad-damn adverbs and adjectives (Instead of "evil", maybe "sadistic" or "vile")

you have to support both points of view, show the person that you are trying to persuade the positive sides for them, and for you. you should tell them precisely what you want, and try not to get off of the topic.

Raise questions that relate to the topic and make the reader think about what you're saying. "Would you be inclined to blah blah blah in this situation?"

Show pros of one side and cons of the other.

This next tip generally works for anyone. Know your teacher. If it's a teacher that likes a good and long paper, it will almost always help to beautify your language and sentences. Write unnessesary add-ons that really raises questions and repeat similar points. However if it's a teacher that wants straight facts, be as concise as possible.

Use formal language and advanced vocabulary. (Always a plus)

Be informative tell only the good things, not the bad.

EXAMPLE!

Buy the New breakfast sandwhich at BurgerKing, IT'S DELICIOUS!
(leave out the part about how it could give you a heartattack.)

normally what you would do is grab your reader's attention in the first paragraph. Don't make your first sentence "I think this because..." My last persuasive paper was on a supreme court case. I started out with a quote from the consititution and then contradicting it with a law that was going to be passed. Then went on with why the law shouldn't be passed in the next paragraphs.

You want to stress your points first. Then you give an opposite side. Most of the time you can use the opposite side to your advantage, if you word it correctly. By doing this, the reader will see that you fully researched the topic and not just what your opinion is. It is a very powerful tactic if used correctly.

When you conclude, lightly touch on the opposite side first, the remind the reader of your points and why they outweigh the opposite side briefly. Just as the introduction, make the conclusion interesting. Most people only remember what was said at the beginning and at the end. So that is when you have to make more effort than the body of the paper.

If you have quotes or statistics, you have to introduce them, and explain why you used the quote or statistic.

I really can't add to anything they've already said (which unfortunately includes hitler) , but I tend to be excellant at papers for some reason, and here are some topics:

-Read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and write a persuasion paper on why something is what you think it is (good topic becuase some people don't understand it and so don't care anyway).

-Take a politcial point (boo democracts, except any on ZU, you're alright)

-research a health, military, enviornmental, or economic issue to write on.

Oh an essay, it is good to save your best arguement for last so it sticks in their head. also try to use as much logic as possible eg therefore or due to this.

Remember to also to direct your audience on the subject.
