Ok there is this thing called "To The Power Of"In maths what do you do in To the power of?Its confusing me
My mind has crashed on me

Let's say 3 was to the power of 2. It could also be written as 3², or 3 squared. The "²" means that the 3 is multiplied by itself 2 times.

What's 3 ∙ 3? 9.

3² is 9.

Just like 9² is 81, because 9 ∙ 9 = 81.

Basically, if a number is to the third power, it is multiplied by itself three times. If to the fourth power, four times, and so on.

Sorry, but looks like you haven't. 11 to the power of 3 = 11*11*11 = 1331.

No, hon, 11 to the power of 3 = 1331 because 11 ∙ 11 = 121, and 121 ∙ 11 = 1331. You multiply the number by ITSELF that many times. If something is to the second power, you do not multiply it by two, you multiply it by itself.

Hey, you're forgetting about square roots! You cover those after you're done with exponents.

yeah exponents can be hard... you wouldn't believe the number of people who think that 2^5 = 10... it's amazing.

all you really have to understand is that Exponents are just like repetitive multiplication....
just like multiplication is repetitive addition.

Well, you don't really have too, because they're the same concept.

7 squared is 49, 49's square root is 7...

True, but I was just saying, everyone seemed to completely leave out the fact that you can do this in reverse, and that you'll have to.
Exponents really become a pain when you have to graph equations. >_<
I think you get the tiny number by using the ^ symbol after the number, and typing in the power.
