Magnetism
I have a scinece fair project coming up. My subject... Magnetism. I've already learned alot about magents, but I need more facts. Any random fact would be good. Seriosly, any random fact.
Also, any suggestions for an actual expirement. BTW, This is really important because it's worth half of my science grade, gulp. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Magnetism
Haha get an F!!
Nah just kidding. I'll ask you some questions and you answer them. What side does the SOUTH side stick to? What sides attract? What sides repel? True or False:If you rub a magnet with iron, nickle, or cobalt, it will have more of a tractor beam to it. Just trying to help linkrules!^_^

Re: Magnetism
Well, I found a good website for ya.
http://education.yahoo.com/reference...entry?id=29488 It is not too teribally long, and has some quick and easy facts in it as well. It also has the bibliography at the end already writen out properly for the site. (Just in case if you need to credit it.) Hope it helps and good luck! I remember science fair...I did one on momentum on race cars. |

Re: Magnetism
Hmmm, what can I remember about magnets...I think they were discovered by a Greek who was sitting under a tree reading...and then he saw this two rocks just zip towards each other and click. And, uh, yeah. Sorry if that's not much help (not very specific I know), but it's all I can remember about magnets that isn't painfully obvious.

Re: Magnetism
I once taught a class on magnetism--did lots of labs/demonstrations, too.
If I were you, I would apply Faraday's Law of Induction (and Maxwell's...) to make an experiment. Remember, the COIL is what makes you or breaks you ;0) Here's a resource for ideas, maybe: http://www.totallycoolscience.com/Sc...s/electric.htm If you want, I will gladly be someone you can interview :0) By the summer, I will be fully certified to teach Physics, and I teach classes now, too.
