Knots/Machs = ...
Can someone do me a huuuge favor? I'm currently writing my Godzilla fic series, and to make the writing seem better and to also employ some real science into it, I've often mentioned Mach speeds and now working into Knot speeds. Is there anyone who knows how fast one knot is and how many miles per hour one mach is? Or so on with everything, thanks.

Re: Knots/Machs = ...
A knot is one nautical mile per hour. A nautical mile is 6000 feet. Mach is the speed of sound.
So, 1 kt = 1.15 mi/hr, and mach 1 = 761.2 mi/hr. Mach 2 is 1522.4 mi/hr |
