I need help saying when someones birthday is.

el .... cumpleanos... 11/18/04

for example I want to say
"Jeff's birthday is the tenth of february"

*tries to remember*
I do remember how to say When is your birthday?
"Quando es tu cumpleanos?"

If I do figure out today how to say "Jeff's birthday is the tenth of february", I'll post it here.

Goes to show you how well three years of spanish went. XD And to think, I got A's in those classes too..... Hmm...

Yeah, I'm taking Spanish too. Our teacher gave us that link, so hopefully it's good.

Lioness said it correctly in proper spanish form structure, everything.However, I gave up last night last night and resorted to bable fish after the lightbulb of inspiration went off.

unfortunately it was in a sentence structure different from what we were taught. we were to have used the form:

Su cumpleanos es <date>

But Mr. Olmedo(my teacher) said that it was OK as apparently there were quite a few people who did this, hah the internet gave us a "wrong answer"

Just a quick note, since my first languague was spanish I can help anyone that might need help with it sometime, so yeah, I'm always up for a PM ^_^

I dont watch them, no me gustan. They are pretty stupid in my opinion.

I agree Chrono. The only novela I've ever watched is Nina Amada Mia, but that one was actually pretty good.

ola=hi
cenyorita=girl
cenyour=boy

thats all I really know how to say in spanish

umm ci isnt yes "si" with an accent mark is..and ola isnt hi its "hola" and it senorita and senor is the correct way to say boy and girl (u can also use chica and chico for boy and girl)

no dude, when speakin in spanish, and you're saying dates...you never use ordinal numbers....here it goes:
when is your bithday? => Cuando es tu cumpleanos?
my birthday is on february tenth... => mi cumpleanos es el diez(10) de febrero

also don't forget alot of spainish is backwards from english "el caro azul" (the car blue) so don't be like me and screw things up (I didn't this time though)

Now I am just on my second year in spanish, so I'm nowere near good. But I can pic out phrases and the such.

Now after you say your birthday, a possible question could be a such ...

¿Cuántos años tienes?

I'm pretty sure thats correct.

And you would respond:

Yo tengo (your age) anos.

What the literal transaltion means in english, is "How many years do you have?" "I have _____ years." It sounds kinda weird in english, but thats how it is. You dont want to say "Soy dieciséis" Or however old you are.

Mi espanol es muy mal. Soy en mi 3rd anos de espanol. No se mucho.

Im from Chile... i saw some people from Costa Rica... they are some variations in the words. Depends on the country you live in. That just a comment :p
