The Clan FAQ

Since many of you might have questions about clans and stuff, I've composed a little (read: tiny) FAQ that perhaps will answer the most common of your questions.

What is a clan?

In ZU, there are three clans: Din (Power), Farore (Courage) and Nayru (Wisdom). Each clan has their own clan forum. Posts doesn't count in a clan due to the nature of the threads in there.

Is it a good idea to join a clan?

I would say so. The clans are closed groups where the rules are slightly easier than outside the clan boards. There are also the clan games, where the three clans compete against each other. All in all, the clans are much fun.

Do I have to? I don’t wanna!

Then don’t do it . Clans are optional to join. It’s just a fun thing to do.

How do I join a clan?

First of all, you must’ve been a member at ZU for one month, and also have fifty(50) posts. This is to make sure you just don’t get into a clan and then go inactive. Second, you send a request by PM to either Tsukasa, GoldenChaos, Sadida or me (Shetani) about taking the clan test. Once you’ve taken the test, you will be placed in one of the clans.

I don’t know much about Zelda, can I still take the clan test?

Yes, the clan test has little to do about Zelda. There is one Zelda-related question, but even then you need not know anything about Zelda to answer it.

Can I fail the test?

Yes. If your clan test grader finds your answers a bit lacking, he/she will send you a second test to take for another try at clan membership. If the second test is still unsatisfactory, you must wait a month before requesting the test again.

What happens if I get an even score between two clans?

Then you get the option to choose whichever clan you prefer.

I’ve asked for the test but haven’t received an answer! Why?

Most likely, the person you sent the request to hasn’t seen it yet. Have patience . If you don’t get an answer in a week, you can send a new PM asking why.

Alright, so I got the test, now what?

Now you answer the questions according to your own beliefs. Follow the directions given to you on the test, and answer the questions as openly and as truthfully as possible, so that the grader can get a good idea of where to place you.

I’m in a clan, but I can’t see the Clan Board!

Again, have patience. After your test got corrected and you got informed on your clan, the results were forwarded to an admin that will put you in your clan. If you have been able to see the Clan Board, but now can't it's most likely caused by the hacking. Contact an admin and ask for help.

I don't know if this is a good enough question but,

Why do you need 100 posts first?
I can understand the 2 weeks, but not the 100 posts.
Why is that?

That's because we want to make sure that you're really planning on staying. Otherwise we could have members joining clans and never show up again. True, members can leave anyways, but at least now, we have some sort of proof that you really want into a clan. And 100 posts isn't that hard to get

It is when you can't find a good Thread. If you find one (like a thread about your fave show) Then it's easy.

Another question

I've been wondering this about clans for awhile.
Why did you make them? What real pupose do they have?

I'd like to answer this, if I may;

I don't know why the clan originally were created, but now it they aree mostly for fun. Also, you can meet and talk to people in a smaller group, that isn't as large as the whole of ZU..

Also, ine the clan boards you can be little more free and sometimes semi-spam threads thet wouldn't get aprooved normally are allowed...
That mean theres lots of fun and games in the clans..

Ahem, I wasn't around when the clans were created, but after asking the creator, I got the answer that they were created solely for fun. A way to unite some members and make ZU unique. O,o

Yea, I have a good question. You see, I want to make an R.P.G thread based off The Matrix and I want to post it in the Farore Clan.(seeing as I am a member of the Farore Clan) I would like to know if it would be wise to post an R.P.G thread in that Clan fourm or do I have to pst it somewhere else? Pleses tell me as Ii want to really post up a Matrix R.P.G thread!

I think you should ask one of the Farore mods for that. Since you want it to be for Farorians, you know.

how long does it usually take to be notified about what clan you are in. I sent the test back to Malony yesterday and i was just wondering how long is the usual wait.

Oh, that depends a lot. Sometimes theperson you sent the test to is veru busy and then it coudl take a few days. Some other time it might only take a few hours. And sometimes, if I have a cupple of test otu at the sime time, I might wait for all fo them to answer before I correct it. But it shoudl not take more than a week. If so, ust PM the one sending it to you. And yes, in your case I am just awaiting another clantest to be ahdned otu before I proced. Patienct, should nto take veyr long

If we don't get into the clan we want, is it possible to switch?
I'm asking because I want to be in the Nayru clan, if possible...

When you have been placed in a clan, most people get's pleased with it, even thoguh that clan may not have been their first choice. But since they only herd rumorus about the other clans, they can't really tell if any other clan is better than the one they got in to. Fortunally, most peeps are very proud of their clan and do not want to switch clan. They are all very alike,a dn all three fo them got nice members and fun tings going on. I have never, talked with a person that really wanted to change clan. Sure, some have thought the grass may hhave been greened on the toehr side, but they soon changed their mind.

So to answer your question; no, it's not a commin thing to do, to Swithc clan. Don't think anyone has done it. And we do prefer you to stay in the clan we have anounced to be the clan you beling to. HOW EVER, if you really do not liek your current clan, we can't stop you from chaning. just connact your Clan mod to sort it out.

Does it matter which clan you join?? do they all do different things or all do the same? what do you do in them anyway? I was planning on joining Din because thats the Power one and Ganon has the Triforce of power but any way thats besides the point lol.

Uhm, the clans do different things. I won't tell you what, cause threads die and new come up and by the time you join a clan, the stuff that goes on now might not be there anymore. You can do a lot of things in the clans. Some spam is allowed and it's the perfect place for games that doesn't suit the other boards.

Oh, and keep in mind. You can't chose what clan to be put in, it's all decided in the clan test.
