...This is not the way to learn the language.

Learning the different words is the easiest part (and can be done with a Spanish > English Dictionary).

The hard part is learning the grammar and punctuation.

Any clue what a declension is? How about conjugation? Case? Gender? Number? Tense? Mood? Nominative, Genitive, Dative, Accusative, Ablative, and Vocative? (I'd think spanish has all those if it keeps enough of its latin roots)

You really have no clue how to learn a language do you?

The only way to learn a foriegn language is... well, first of all, Get a better grasp of English
Second, you need to realize that languages aren't like math, simply learning a word's equivalent will et you no where. Most Community Colleges offer free classes, why not check that out?

"Habla Ingles," is not: "Do you speak Spanish."
It's ¿Hablas español?

Ingles is English in Spanish. Espanol is Spanish in Spanish.

I wish my school taught us Spanish. I need to learn it.

Also, you should try using an English > Spanish Dictionary. It helps a lot. Even for me. -_-

i haven't seen any post with a NATURAL spanish sentence...

¿Cómo se llama? (what's your name?) is too formal, usually used to ask older ppl than u..
it's better to say ¿Cómo te llamas?...

now, what's your name? is not ¿cómo te llamas?, but ¿cuál es tu nombre?

well..more spanish

what's up? - que hay? - que hay de nuevo?
**** off - no jodas
estoy aburrido - i'm bored

some contractions...

pa' -> para - to
q -> que? - what .... or .... que - that (don't confuse with eso - that)
x -> por - by [this is because of being the multiplication sign x]
then.....xq? - por qué?
see?? it's really easy :p

i'm a native spanish speaker

Dark Link, are you taking clases, or not?

I've been taking Spanish for five years, and I found it's been a lot easier if you just practice, practice, practice in addition to taking classes. Studying flashcards and taking notes in class is good, but using it in real life is better, as is actually writing more in Spanish. You'll get more experience using the words often, and writing with a Spanish > English dictionary at your side will expand your vocabulary.

Learnign a language is tough. Good luck.

I really hate it. XD Even though we have that stuff it's harder to grasp it in Spanish. Yeah. This is hard to learn if you're not applying this stuff to your language.

(I know there should be another question mark here but I just can't make my keyboard get that no matter how much I try)como se llama? IS very formal, but it should be used when speaking to someone with respect. "What's your name sir/ma'am?" would be the way to say it English.
Quote:

Actually, Almost everyone says (again, insert question mark here) Como te llamas? in this days (and it sounds better), but cual es tu nombre? is more formal.

Quote:
what's up? - que hay? - que hay de nuevo?
(again with the quetion mark)Que honda?

so you know the essentials for seducing a woman with a romantic language

tengo un gato en mis pantalones, y esta bailando.

my favorite:
trabajaba ("trah bah ha bah") = I used to work
hablaba ("ah blah bah") = I used to speak
those just sound funny
