Well... Do you mean organization as far as time management. Or for keeping your materials in order?

I'm guessing keeping your materials in order. Have a seperate binder/folder for everything. Store them in a coherent manner ie; store them in your locker in the order you go to classes. Always do your homework and be prepared for class. Store notes for class in the correct binder. Take notes!.... Am i helping at all? This is what I do.

P.S. Still spelling Arrow wrong I see

Keep a Diary, perhaps? If a piece of work has to be done on Friday, write in the friday slot 'Must hand in History assignment on the Arab conflict' or whatever.

I find it works a treat. But if you don't understand what your report is trying to tell you, try seeing your teacher about it. At my school they put down stuff like 'Get orginized' or 'Think work through from more viewpoints at a higher standard' just to fill in the empty spaces in the report.

Hope I've helped ^__^.

Have a planner to keep track of your assignments, have a binder for each class, keep all your papers in a binder (never crumple them up and throw them in your bag).

That really is terrible advice.

Which university are you going to attend?

Well this is what i do to keep track of all my stuff

1. Get a planner(schools usually have their own but if not then just go down to like the local drug store [Longs, Rite-Aid, Walgreens, ect] and they seel them)

2. Get a three ring binder with seperaters(the things to sepereate all the work from your classes.)

3. Get seperate notebooks for each class and mark the name of the class on the front cover(i usually get the 70 page ones)

4. This one is optional. . . if your school allows you to buy private lockers(im not talking about the ones used for gym class) then buy one, THEY HELP A BUNCH

5. If not, then see if perhaps one of your teachers can hold some stuff for you (like have your morning class stuff with you[classes before lunch] and then switch out for your afternoon classes[classes after lunch])

6. For reports get a flashdrive/jumpdrive/memory stick whatever you want to call them, its less of a hassle and easy to carry back and forth from home and school

that should help you stay a wee bit more organized, i know it did for me ^^

Aye, I myself don't organize much and it's caused me grief before.

Simple advice: Keep a homework planner.

Write in it what homework you have and when it's due. This is essential if you don't want to end up forgetting something.

Use either one big binder or several small ones to store everything you get and every note you take. If you use one big binder then divide it into subjects, if you use many smaller ones then have one subject per binder.

Don't just stuff stuff into the binder or your textbook (I'm guilty of this), it's fast, yes, but it makes it a pain to find stuff (or, more of a pain then it needs to be) and stuff gets lost/damaged more often.

Don't leave homework until the last minute (also guilty of this), stuff thrown together at the last minute is never as good as stuff you've spent quite a bit of time on. It's the difference between an "average" mark and something in the 90s.

Finally, learn all of this now. Get into the habit. In highschool (and moreso university) being organized is essential, and it's much easier to do if you're used to it when the workload is less.

Edit: avyuir beat me to the punch.

And yes, a USB drive is an incredibly useful tool for schoolwork. If you're not in highschool then you probably don't need one yet, but they are in invaluable way to get reports to and from school without any hassle. Don't rely on e-mail, since most schools have draconian anti-e-mail policies.

I've got degrees from two universities in the US. Given that they're US colleges, I'm sure they're not as prestigious as any Cambridge school.

I read online that your (future) school only takes about 80 undergrads a year. So, congrats!

Anyway, my degrees are in engineering; and I have to say that organization helps a lot while you're in college. Thus, any practice you can get at organization early as possible, as indicated by GDwarf earlier, is better.

Good luck in school.

Well, I am doing classics...that said it depends what you mean by organization!

when I say that I have none
I have a system that works for me that means I lose nothing. It is the teachers who do not understand it...their problem I got the required marks for my ambitions tho.

I doubt you can afford it unless you are in college, but the best option is to get a tablet PC... you never lose anything unless your hard drive crashes, there are back packs available to carry them in and you can take your notes by writing on the screen and then save them in your own handwriting.

Besides doing that... there aren't any very good methods, I would try the planner, and definitely use a folder or two.

If you need to, keep several folders, choose a different color or picture for every class that you have and purchase a matching notebook where you will keep your notes.

Keep about 3 or 4 pages blank at the front of the note book. Every day make a new entry at the top of a new page with the date. Write the page number at the bottom of each page, then go back to the beginning after class and write down at the beginning what you studied that day as a title, put that in quotation marks on the left hand side of the page, skipping a row each entry

then in the middle of the page write the date, then the page number on the far right.

Each time there is a test draw a line along the bottom of the last entry before the test, not crossing out the entry.

If there are assignments, feel free to write down the assignments in your notebooks table of contents.

Then organize your folder chronologically, and number the pages. Keep work that you are trying to finish on the right side, and finished work on the left.

You should keep all tests and returned homework in the left hand pocket of said folder.

When you need to review for tests, all of the material should be easy to find and chronologically available.

Hope this helps.
